Chapter 6

~Y/N POV~

This isn't going as bad as I thought it would.

I mean on the way over to work today I debated with myself if I should tell the kids that they're robots but then I came to a conclusion that what if they did something in front of the kids that didn't seem right and I would have to explain.

The second I introduced them during circle time, telling their names and such the children were ecstatic to find out they were really robots. Asking for proof and what they can do but I haven't seen what they can do yet. If I ever would.

My two co-worker, Tina and Sera were unsure on this idea but I really had no other choice in the matter. I can't exactly stay off work just because my dad decided to assign me seven robot body guards for real reasons I don't know. But possibly these bots may know.

I should ask and see if one of them will slip up but what are the chances of that happening?

My head was filled with questions and thoughts about this that I zoned out of the conversation I once had with both Tina and Sera just to watched the bots around the room, interacting with the kids. I mean it seems they've taken over our jobs and we just sit in the back since the children aren't even in the slightest bit interested in us.

What shocked me the most was to witness Taehyung rolling around on the floor in the play corner, with three little boys jumping on top of him. It was even more weird to see that he was smiling. I mean SMILING?!

This was the first time I even seen such emotion from any of them.

Then there was Jungkook picking up kids one my one to play air a plane with them but moving them around in mid air making swooshing sounds as the children would giggle and then eagerly ask for another go.

Jimin and Hoseok were actually playing hair dressers with two little girls while Namjoon was in the reading corner reading a book about farm animals to a further five kids with Yoongi laying on his stomach listening in but had a cheeky girl, Minnie, sitting on his back.

That left Jin, over by the play kitchen with a further two more kids pretending to wait patiently for his food. But when his eyes flickered to me and we locked eyes I looked away from him. Heat flushed upon my cheeks as I felt embarrassed and flustered especially since what happened this morning.

Before they were all mean to me in high school I use to have the biggest crush on them all but that changed when they started mistreating me.

Despite my attempts to look away, I could still feel Jin's burning gaze on me. I made a brave move to slowly turn back to immediately lock eyes with him again. His composure straight, sitting on the floor with a kids table in front of him. Staring a head at me. But then he chuckled silently, only telling from the way his chest and shoulders moved and then threw a smirk my way.

A FUCKING SMIRK.

I couldn't deal anymore and stood up, leaving the table I was at and walked out the room into the next which was the nap room. It would be nap time soon so I should get started on getting things sorted in here.

Picking up some blankets from the cupboard I placed one blanket each on each bed. Making sure they're unfolded so it was easy for the children to fix the blanket themselves to their liking. It's easier this way as some have trouble unfolding the blankets themselves.

Then I made sure that the children's juice bottles were sorted. Not all of them have a bottle while trying to go to sleep but most of them. It's a mixture between water and milk but mostly milk in our case.

Counting the cups I made sure all of them were there and took some milk out the small mini fridge we have in the nap room and began pouring half a cup of milk into each bottle. They don't need a lot.

Putting the milk carton back I started on the bottles that would be filled with water. Using the tap in the corner of the room. Filling those up and placed them with the milk bottles.

So all the drinks were set and blankets sorted. I just had to make sure that the diaper station was stocked. Just in case a child has an accident through their sleep which happens sometimes but not often. You can never be too sure when it comes to things like this.

Wiping down the changing station which is usually for babies and sometimes there are babies that come in but today there isn't any but I cleaned the station anyway with a antibacterial wipe and tossed it in the small bin beside me.

Sighing I squatted down to the small cabinet under the changing station and double checked we had enough diapers and wipes which there was. But I think I may need to get some more to stock up for another day.

Seeing everything was in place I stood back up wiping my hands together and scanned the room trying to think of anything I may have missed.

But a cleared throat from the doorway caught my attention and my time alone was now no more.

I turned around to see Hoseok standing in the doorway, holding onto a sleepy little boy in his arms, yawning and resting his head on Hoseoks shoulder.

"Sorry to disturb you Miss Y/n but this little man was falling asleep during story time. I assume here is where he can sleep?" Hoseok

I nodded and walked towards him to take the small child from him but Hoseok just shook his head at me.

"It's quite alright miss Y/n, I can take him. Will any bed do?" Hoseok

He walked passed me and scanned the room with his eyes until he marched towards the farthest bed away from the door. Bent over slightly and carefully placed the small child into the bed. Pulling the blanket over his body and patted his head softly.

Straight away the child rolled over on his side away from Hoseok and I assume fell asleep with no fuss.

What surprised me was that Hoseok just stood there for a few seconds smiling down at the boy as he slept and then dropped the smile and started walking back to where I stood.

"I'm surprised."

I told him which made him stop centre of the room and blankly stare back at me.

"About what miss Y/n?" Hoseok

"How well you handled Woojin."

I gestured towards the boy he put to sleep. Hoseok gazed back over his shoulder and then back to me offering a very small smile. You had to concentrate on his lips hard enough to see it.

"I like children. We all do. It's in our program to be respectful of non threats and a child is far from a threat." Hoseok

"How can you deal with children so well then? I mean all of you seem to have a thing."

Hoseok nods but takes a couple of steps towards me to stop beside me but facing the door.

"We did research once we found out your occupation. To know exactly what is expected of you and ourselves to be around these small human beings. Our guards are still up to protect you and sense danger in your surroundings but to not scare the children we learned how to deal with children through research." Hoseok

"When did you do this research?"

"Last night. Shall I notify the others that it is nap time?" Hoseok

I hummed with a nod and he nods back and leaves the room. I could hear his voice in the other room telling everyone it's nap time but I just stood there in my thoughts.

Something in the back of my mind tells me that they already knew how to deal with children. I mean when do you ever hear or see robots in movies acting like care takers for children. Adults yeah but children?

No ive never heard of that.

But then again I have to remind myself they're not completely all metal. They're also partly human too.
