Indifferent Insanity

"We have an observer." Destiny explained calmly as they all peered over.
Sure enough, on the mostly empty sidewalk below stood.. another Sans. Which at this point, wasn't surprising anymore. This one had what appeared to be horns broken into his skull, the resulting cracks radiating out and onto the lids of his sockets, both eyelights a maddening swirl. He was otherwise wearing a rather familiar attire, peering up at them with a slightly too-wide smile, skull cocked to the side.

As they all peered down at the stranger, he waved excitedly, almost childlike before he started walking forward again, never looking away from them.

"... He's actually kind of creepy." Flowey quietly admitted. "Who is that one?"
".. I've seen him on the MVTV before, but I can't place the name.." Outer muttered, concentrating.
"Shockingly enough, I don't recall either." Black added, frowning. Razz nodded. "I remember it was In something. Odd. Nevertheless, he's not our problem."
TK giggled quietly at that, grinning.
"What?" Flowey asked, irritated.

"I like your blue vine." A frighteningly close by voice spoke from beside Frisk, startling the entire group into splitting up and backing away from the intruder, TK and Destiny remaining.

"HOLY CRAP-" Undyne yelped, standing in front of Alphys with her other hand on the frightened Frisk's shoulder.
"How did you get there so fast?!"

The newcomer chuckled chaotically, waving. "Oh, you know! The usual! So, about that vine!" His swirling eyelights zeroed in on Flowey. "I want it."

Flowey stated at him, bewildered for a long moment before Destiny drifted closer to the stranger, then blurted. "Then take it! I hate this thing, it's tight!"
"That will not be necessary." Destiny spoke, getting in-between them.

"Hehehehehe, I don't think you understand. I want it." His smile abruptly fell, swirls turning red. Destiny didn't react, taking another long moment to reply.
"I understand your choices. I would find no trouble to gift you the same I granted him."
He tilted his skull to the side, considering this with his continuous smile.

Then he abruptly perked up, grinning wider with an oddly over-enthusiastic tone.
"Okay! I'm down for that!"
With that, he skipped over, giggling with clear madness as he stood much too close to the possessed skeleton.

Everyone was silent as the blue light coalesced into a vine, stretching towards the unsettling stranger. Destiny was calm, as usual, but everyone else was tense, entirely unnerved by the mysterious, clearly crazy alternate that had likely been planning on killing for something he wanted to keep.

As soon as the vine was in his hands, the stranger bounced in place. "Will this grow if I plant it, too?"
"Should you choose it too."
"Perfect! This will look great with the echo flowers!"
He turned to skip away, then suddenly froze in place.

The group tensed, ready for a random attack as he slowly turned with that creepy smile, swirls dancing between their faces for a long, quiet moment.

Then it dropped and he was back to acting "friendly" as he waved. "I forgot to introduce myself! Call me Insans!" He giggled abruptly before adding. "Because I'm maybe probably insane, hah!"
With that, instead of leaving, he faced all the way towards them again. "Your turn!"

"Uh. I'm Outer." Said skeleton began, chuckling nervously.
"Time Kid, just call me TK!" Called the cheery, relaxed child.
"Epic, bruh." Came the third, entirely unafraid.
"Ya look like a friend of a friend, bruh."
Insans twitched to study Epic as Razz cleared his throat and straightened.
"I'm Raspberry."
"Blackberry. The others with us don't yet have names decided. We were attempting to introduce them to the Multiverse, but it has been.. complicated."

"Yeah, that happens." He chuckled to himself because jolting up and regarding the deity. "What about you? And the guy you're possessing!"
"How'd he-" A jab from an elbow shut the fish lady up.

"I am Destiny." She spoke. "And the one who is my vessel is known as Classic."
Insans nodded cheerily before abruptly freezing, sockets black and empty.
Destiny actually backed away, drifting backwards until she hovered only a few feet in front of the others.

Suddenly, Insans reanimated, staring at the deity with sockets that stretched just a little too wide and a strange look on his face.
"Surely you don't mean the Classic?"
"There's only one of him." TK shrugged.

His face morphed into a smile yet again, this time full of intrigue.
"So theoretically, if I kill him, the whole Multiverse goes kaput?"
"More like certainly."
"Don't tell him that, you don't know what he'll do!" Blackberry whispered harshly at TK, who just grinned knowingly at him.

Then the kid stepped forward, away from the others.
"You know, I'm kind of sad you don't remember me." He finally said, facing the madman.
Insans blinked at him a couple times, confused.

Then he slowly started lighting up.
"OOOOOOHHHH! You were at the party!! You- you like dragged off that green one talking to Abyss- I didn't recognize you! I don't remember actually meeting you!" He giggled.

"Okay, okay, that's fair! I didn't really stick around at the time- I really needed Lucida then! But- oh! Actually!" TK spun, facing Epic.
"He's Kin's chatty friend!"

Epic squinted at Insans as the horned one lit up further. "You know Kin, too! That's so fun! I didn't know he had friends outside of Abyss and Beats!"
"Sorry, Bruh, didn't get close to him." Epic shrugged. "Dude got closer than me."

"Are you seriously just okay with the guy that was about to kill me for a freaking vine?" Flowey demanded from his pot, Frisk staring in disbelief while Undyne remained mortified.

Insans snorted derisively as TK hesitated, awkwardly turning to Epic, who shrugged. "He's friendly now, though. That's da important part. Multiverse is a big, crazy place. Holdin' grudges just makes problems." He chuckled. "'Sides, he only wanted ta if you were gonna be hostile."

"He's a little crazy, it's in the name." TK explained as he rubbed his neck vertebrae. "You'd probably be a little more forgiving if you knew his story."
"And I AIN'T gonna tell it right now, so suck it up!" He grinned madly, practically vibrating in place before TK gasped.
"Oh! And you don't know, but he's also a really cool celebrity ! He's a co-star with MV Metta!"
"Oh yeah, I really get around, heehee."

"Ooooohhhhh, that's where I saw you before." Outer finally realized, tension leaving his shoulders. "What are you doing in such an empty place?"

"Oh, you know." He pocketed one hand. "Sometimes, when I wanna really kill Lytta, I just take a walk instead." He blinked, the swirls slowing down and shrinking down a couple sizes. That small change made him seem far more.. normal, oddly enough.

He held up the vine in curiosity, watching the light play across it's blue and silver surface. He looked back up, a little more genuine than before.
"Did I freak you out? Didn't really mean it, I just get those moments sometimes."

"Who's Lytta?" Frisk finally peeped, hugging Flowey's pot. Insans's gaze snapped over, suddenly much more hostile as he stared at the human.
There was a certain hatred gleaming in his eyelights as he started glaring at Frisk.

Undyne quickly put them behind herself, Outer resting a kind hand on their shoulder as Razz and Black stood defensively on either side of Undyne, all cautious of the unpredictable one.

"Hehehehehe oh boy." He giggled at that, a hand idly reaching up to his face as those swirls turned red. "I really hate humans."

"You would destroy the Multiverse if you killed this human." Destiny explained calmly, drifting around to block his view of Frisk.
"Are you sure you wish to act on your impulses in this case?"
Insans's eyelights flickered, his face conflicted, caught between a deep-seated fury mixed with fear and pain.

After a long, worrying moment, he finally snapped back to reality, hissing quietly.
"Fine! Fine. Exception. I hate you. I want to kill you. So bad. But fine, fine fine. I like the Multiverse more than I hate you." He twitched as he glared around at Frisk, left hand twitching at the sight of them.
"Just don't come 20 feet of me and I'll not kill you."

Frisk shuddered under the unnerving gaze and nodded shakily. Flowey went so far as to cautiously wrap a leaf around their forearm.

The staredown only stopped when an abrupt ringtone startled everyone into jumping, even Insans as he started slapping his pockets in a panic.

Undyne shared a baffled look with Alphys, Black facepalming at the ridiculous situation before Razz could sigh.
"He seems to be largely.. tame, so he should not be an undue threat." The red one straightened, using his sharpened bone as a staff instead.

"He was going to kill Frisk." Undyne hissed at him.
"And he's agreed not to. You don't yet understand- events like this are remarkably common in the Multiverse. It is best to reach a deal where one can be met, otherwise you and your AU die." Razz snorted, amused as he explained.

"INSANS!" A voice screamed from the phone, Insans having apparently found it. He was currently holding it at arm's length.
"Hey Al, did I miss anything?"
"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!"
"Is- is that my voice??" Alphys questioned in shock.
"I got a vine!" Insans waved said plant as if whoever was on the other side could see it.
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT SOME STUPID VINE, WE'RE BEING ATTACKED!"

He gasped in excitement. "Is Lytta getting their butt kicked?!"
"NO YOU IDIOT-" The other side cut out momentarily, filled with only the sound of wind and oddly enough, a metallic, primal roar. The voice returned, no longer yelling at the top of their lungs.

"We can't reach Lytta right now, and this thing crushed Mettaton's body when it ambushed us so I'm alone here while it destroys my machinery!"
Insans froze, staring out across the rooftops as his hand went slack.

Then he abruptly spun, left eyelight red as he reached out and grabbed the jacket sleeve next to him, Destiny glancing down at the contact.
"I blame you for this."
"Wait, what are you doing-" Outer took a step closer as TK reached out in alarm.

"I'll be right back with your friend after we fix this! See ya!"
The possessed skeleton was suddenly uncharacteristically tense as they vanished, a familiar voice crying out "What-" before they were already gone.

"Classic?!"
"SANS!"
