Chapter-5
As the lights were off, Manik felt a bit nervous. However, when he looked at his mother, he saw her gaze fixed on him with love and support. Encouraged by her presence, he took a deep breath and began to sing a song.
Janam janam ho tu hi mere paas Maa
Janam janam ho tu hi zameen aasmanJanam janam ho tu hi mere paas MaaJanam janam ho tu hi zameen aasman
Yeh hai khabar dil mein kahin
Rab reh rehta hai magar
Mere dil mein rehti bholi bhali meri
MaaMere dil mein rehti bholi bhali meri Maa
As Manik started singing, a pin-drop silence fell over the room. His voice had a magical quality that captivated everyone present.
Its soothing tones washed over the audience, enveloping them in a sense of tranquility. Manik sang with his eyes closed, occasionally glancing at his mother and sharing a warm smile with her.
The combination of Manik's melodious voice and the heartfelt connection he shared with his mother created a beautiful atmosphere. People in the room were completely absorbed in the moment, enjoying the music and the emotions it evoked. It was a truly special experience for both Manik and everyone who was fortunate enough to listen to his captivating performance.
Pagli hai duniya Rab ko manaaneMandir mazaaron tak jaati haiGhar mein hi mere hota hai teerath
Mujhko nazar jab Maa aati hai
Mujhko nazar jab Maa aati hai
Janam janam tu meri ardaas MaaJanam janam tu mera ehsaas Maa
As Nandini looked at Manik, tears welled up in her eyes. She was deeply moved by the peaceful and soothing voice that emanated from him. Her gaze remained fixed on Manik, and a gentle smile adorned her face as she listened intently to his singing. As
Manik continued to sing, Nandini cherished every second, savoring the beauty of the moment and the love she felt for her son. It was a memory that would forever be etched in her heart, reminding her of the incredible blessing it was to have Manik as her child.
Bachpan se ab tak Maa se kya seekhaMain yeh jahaan ko batlaaoongaJab naaz hoga tumko bhi mujh peWoh din yakeenan main laaoongaWoh din yakeenan main laaoonga
Janam janam hoon tera vishwas Maa..Janam janam rahoon main tere paas MaaIn khwaahishon in koshishon se pehle to magarMere dil mein rehti bholi bhali meri MaaMere dil mein rehti bholi bhali meri Maa
As the final notes of the song filled the room, a profound silence settled, broken only by the sound of sniffles and gentle sobs. Each person present was deeply moved by the beauty of Manik's performance, their emotions stirred to the point of tears.
Manik, aware of Nandini's tears, locked eyes with her and conveyed a silent message through his gestures. He gently urged her not to cry, but to smile instead. Understanding his unspoken words, Nandini wiped away her tears, allowing a radiant smile to grace her face.
Though they had just met that day, both Nandini and Manik felt an undeniable connection between them. It was as if something clicked, and they instinctively knew there was more to their encounter than mere chance.
While Manik's mother came onto the stage, she tightly hugged him and exclaimed, "Thank you for the amazing gift, Manik. I love it, mera bacha."
Manik replied, "Mom, relax. You enjoyed it, right? That's all I need."
Nyonika chimed in, saying, "I just love it."
Ronit praised Manik, saying, "Well done, Manik. It was amazing."
Shivin, noticing the eye contact between Manik and Nandini, playfully whispered into Manik's ear, "Daya kuch toh garbar hai" and laughed. Manik shot Shivin a disapproving glare.
Shivin quickly changed the subject, saying, "Okay, now it's cake time. Come on, Aunty, let's cut the cake."
Nyonika proceeded to cut the cake while everyone sang "Happy Birthday." She first fed the cake to Ronit, then Manik, followed by Shivin. Afterward, they asked the waiter to serve the cake to everyone. The party continued in this manner.
Despite not getting a chance to talk to each other, Manik and Nandini stole glances at one another throughout the festivities.
At night
Nandini sat in her room, lost in thoughts about Manik. Suddenly, her phone rang.
Nandini: "Ruhi, where were you? I've been trying to call you."
Ruhi: "I was here, my dear. Mom had me busy with some work. What happened? Why so many calls?"
Nandini: "Today, I met him, Ruhi."
Ruhi: "Him? Whom are you talking about?"
Nandini: "Oh, come on, Ruhi. Him. You know who I mean."
Ruhi: "Wait, did you meet Mayank there?"
Nandini: "Yes, but listen, his name is not Mayank. It's Manik, you dumbo."
Ruhi: "You went there and called him Mayank? Haha!"
Nandini: "Ruhi, please."
Ruhi: "Okay, tell me everything from the beginning. How was it to meet your crush? Did you tell him about it?"
Nandini: "Are you crazy, Ruhi? How can I tell him in our first meeting? But I can say that he's a good person."
Ruhi: "Alright, now spill all the details."
Nandini shared every detail of the party with Ruhi.
Ruhi: "Wow, so he's a singer too? By the way, did you both exchange numbers?"
Nandini: "No."
Ruhi: "Seriously? Come on, girl. Destiny brought you together, and you couldn't even exchange numbers? What were you thinking?"
Nandini: "Ruhi, what could I do? We had just met. It would have been strange to ask for his number. Besides, after that initial conversation, we didn't get a chance to talk anymore. I don't even know if we'll have a chance to talk at our tuition class tomorrow."
Ruhi: "Hmm, we'll see what happens tomorrow. If destiny brought you two together, it'll have a plan for what's to come. Let's trust the flow."
Nandini: "Hmm..."
Ruhi: "Don't be sad now, Nandu. You know when you're sad, you look like a pig." laughs
Nandini: "If I look like a pig, then you're a donkey." and they both laughed
They both continued chatting for a while until Nandini ended the call and drifted off to sleep, thinking about the next day when they would meet at tuition.
