Chapter Four- Quiet
Jon was quiet.
Some people had told him that his greatest flaw was that he could never stop talking. But now he couldn't summon the words to speak.
He and Dawn had been staying in Dawn's college dorms for the past 4 days, Dawn's roommate kind of just ignored them and went about his day; which Jon was eternally grateful for.
The funny thing about Jon losing his voice was that through the whole ordeal Dawn, the famously more quiet one, was becoming more vocal as days passed. He talked to Jon mostly. Jon would listen and nod along but he would never say a word in response and Dawn had learned to ask "Yes" and "No" questions only.
Jon thought that talking might jeopardize Cory's sacrifice, that he wouldn't want him to talk. He knew deep in his heart that he was wrong, that Cory would want this incident to bring them closer together, but grief refused to let that happen. Jon couldn't stop himself from thinking about the fact that he could never again ask Cory a question, never again hear his smile or laugh and never again tease him for anything. Jon wished for just one more moment with Cory, one more moment to tell him he was sorry for all the times he had called him stupid or weird. But he would never get that moment, Cory was gone and he wasn't coming back.
"Okay, that's it!" Someone yelled and Jon recognized the face of Dawn's roommate, Tim- He thought, "You both have just been laying down here for the past three days; You haven't even told me what happened! If you want to keep staying here," He pointed to Jon, "You," He pointed to Dawn, "Have got to tell me what's up!"
Jon stared at the guy, he had sandy blond hair and frosted tips ("Really," Thought the part of Jon's mind that made him and Tommy friends), brown eyes and a septum piercing. All and all he wasn't very intimidating.
"Tim please, me and my friend Jon here have just lost someone really close to us and we're grieving. Jon can't go back home right now because the house he was staying in belonged to Cory, the guy we lost, and we also both need each other right now. Please." Dawn growled out sadly, Jon stared up at the ceiling; looking oblivious.
"Ah- huh, alright, whatever." Tim stuttered as he closed the door and left again.
Jon didn't say a word.
Hey guys, wassup? The reason I'm crapping out all these chapters is that I have church camp in around a week and I'm very nervous. You trying spending a week at a camp that is
A. Christian, even though you're an atheist.
B. Is a place where your bisexual ass is supposed to act straight, even though you are in a cabin full of, probably, cute girls all week.
And C. Is a place where you have no electronics (By far the worst part lol)
So I'll try to upload one or two more chapters before I'm shipped off to hell for a week- Aurevior! And wish me luck!
