Peggy sat outside of Miranda High School, tapping her foot impaciently. The sidewalk was beginning to dig into her thys and sweat was beading down her forehead.

School had ended over an hour ago. Her sisters had left her here. No doubt they had heard about Peggy setting Alex and John up.

"Hey, it's Peggy right?"

Peggy looked up to find a girl that she recognized as a senior in her mathematics class.

"Yeah. You are?" She asked as she looked her up and down.

She motioned to the spot next to her, asking to sit. She nodded and she sat down sticking out her hand.

"Maria Reynolds."

She shook her hand and smiled.

"Why are you here so late, Peggy?" She asked.

"My sisters got mad at me, and left me."

"Who are your sisters?" She asked.

Peggy looked up and raised an eyebrow. "You're kidding, right?"

She shook her head. "No. How would I know who your sisters are?"

Peggy chuckled and picked at the grass patch behind her, throwing dirt into the road. "Everyone does."

"Well I don't, and I kind of don't want to. They sound like assholes." Maria said.

"I've told you nothing about them." Peggy rolled her eyes.

"They left you here alone!" Maria exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air.

Peggy laughed. "They're just mad at me because I set one of their crushes up with John Laurens."

"You set Alex and John up? Man, I freaking love you! I've been shipping them since freshman year!" Maria said with a wide smile.

Peggy laughed. "They've been pinning after each other for much longer than that."

"So your sister has a crush on Alex?" Maria asked.

Peggy nodded, "My sister Eliza. She's the pretty one. Angelica's the smart one."

"Which one are you?"

"The weird one."
