Epilogue

Brian and Ruby caught the plane and arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle two hours later. They were safe but above all, they were together. Brian spent the whole trip sleeping, his head resting against the window, while Ruby was sleeping on his shoulder. Once they were inside the airport, they got Ruby's suitcase back.
“We have a taxi out there.”
“What?”
“I called a taxi when we were in England. I called him yesterday.”
Ruby looked at him quizzically, but he only smiled, without saying a word. They crossed the whole airport and when they found the front doors, Ruby squeezed his hand.
“I'm happy to be here with you, Bri.”
He smiled at her and just showed the way to the front doors. She rolled her eyes and followed him. She knew the airport very well and she knew that it was the huge taxi car park. She had phoned May but she couldn't be there to welcome her mother as she had exams. The automatic glass doors opened before them and they went out. Brian stopped and told Ruby to wait. A flashy red car parked before them.
“Here is our taxi.”
“Bri, what the fuck?”
He giggled. Ruby noticed it was a British car, as the driver was on their side. The door of the car opened and a tall, thin man wearing a colourful shirt appeared. His hair was blond and short, and he had baby blue eyes. He faced them with a half smile and made his keys rotate around his finger.
“D'you need me to take you somewhere, ma'am?”
Ruby's eyes widened. What a surprise! She felt like crying again and ran to the man, hugging him tightly.
“OH ROG! ROG, ROG! FUCK!” she almost shouted in his ear.
“There, there” he giggled, patting her back. “Well, I haven't seen you for a short while!”
His smile warmed her heart and tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Damn, you two decided to make me cry a lot today!”
Roger laughed and stretched an arm, inviting Brian to join them into a huge group hug. Roger cupped Ruby's face in his hands.
“Ah, dear Riley, I've missed you, y'know.”
“I've missed you too, Crazy Rog Saloon!”
Roger laughed before taking her suitcase from Brian's hands and putting it in his trunk.
“Bri, you didn't bring anything?” he said.

“No, I'll buy some clothes in Paris, that's not a problem.”
Roger shrugged and told them to get into the car. They did so, and Roger sat on the driver's seat and drove away from the airport. They arrived at Ruby's flat and spent the rest of the day together.
What happened next? The day after, Brian finally met his daughter, May, and as he promised her, he treated her as though she had always been his little girl. He visited Paris entirely with Ruby, who still had to work, but he wandered in the streets by himself. He didn't really like Paris, actually. But the love of his life was back, they were engaged, and he finally met his daughter. How could he ask for more?
One month later, Ruby resigned from her job and after a long conversation with May, she followed Brian to England, leaving France forever, except for some holidays she spent with Brian and May.
They got married on a Tuesday, in St Mary le Strand. The whole family attended this huge event. Ruth was there, sitting next to her grandchildren (including May) and Prudence, who spent the whole day crying. Brian's two best men were Roger and John Deacon, his bandmates; Ruby's were Jane and Jerry, her College friend. Jane came with her boyfriend, with whom she was engaged now. Brian's children didn't mind the wedding, as they had heard about Ruby during their whole short lives. After the ceremony, they got out of the church and a photographer – the Mays' friend who took the photograph nailed on Ruth's wall – took the traditional photograph of the newlyweds alone, then with the whole family. After the photographs, Ruby threw her bouquet above her shoulder, and it was jane who caught it, and it was right, she was the next one who would get married. Then, Ruby walked up to the graveyard behind the church and visited Dennis. She showed him her ring and her dress, took her time to tell him that she missed him and loved him a lot. She didn't feel sad when she saw the grave that she hadn't seen since 1969. She felt happy, because she knew that Dennis was too, somewhere up there.

And if that's what you wanted to read, Brian Harold May and Ruby Riley May lived happily ever after.
