Chapter 1: Just Go To Hell Dil
"A very good morning to my dear princess." Said a man's voice.
Jiva said still with her eyes closed and a smile slowly creeping her lips, " Where is my Papi?"
"Your Papi is standing right beside you." Said the male voice.
"Really?" Screamed Jiva and opened her eyes and jumped up on her bed sitting. Her face was showing a delighted expression and her lips curved in a big smile.
"Papi!!!!" She screamed and jumped and hugged her father very tight.
"Okay. Okay. I'm gonna choke now." Said her father.
"Weren't you supposed to return next week?" Asked Jiva.
"Yes but the new Captain had already reached in Durban so thought of handing over the vessel to him there only." Said her father.
"Okay. And thank you so much for returning home before my birthday." Said she.
"How can I miss my princess' birthday?" Said the man.
"Okay then today I have office so sorry for that but today evening we can go shopping. Actually my friend's wedding is coming and you know that I don't have any Indian dresses right." Said she.
"No dear today Sharma uncle is coming along with his daughter and would be son-in-law." Said he.
"Oh!" Said she and again started, " Then tomorrow? "
" Ya that will be perfect." Said he.
"Thank you so much!" She exclaimed and jumped out from bed and ran to the restroom to get ready.
She changed into a jeans and a denim shirt and packed her backpack and rushed out of her room to the dining room where her father along with her mother were waiting for her at breakfast table. She hugged her mother and took a seat. She quickly took a bite from her french toast and drank her juice really fast and then slowly her hand slipped to pick up her backpack and she planned to rush out of the house.
"Ummhmm...Don't even try that." Said her father.
"Why do you always catch me?" Asked she.
"You will have to complete having the two french toast which you have been given." Ordered her mother.
"Fine.." she said disgusted and stuffed the toasts in her mouth as quickly as she could and ran outside the house and rushed to her car and drove off.
In her way she received a call. The caller ID said 'Raghu'.
" Sorry Raghuvendra I can't manage at breakfast. Can we meet during Lunch?" Asked she.
The person from the other side said something to which she excitedly said," Okay then 12:30 p.m. in Mainland China."
***
It was aleady 12:30 p.m. and Jiva walked in the restaurant. She looked around to see if Raghuvendra was already there. She noticed a figure about six feet three inches height. His shoulder length curly hair was tied in a ponytail, he had french cut beard and moustache. He smiled after looking at her.
"Hi." She went to him and wished. She took the chair opposite to him.
"Hello sweetheart." He said with a warm smile.
"Okay. So how was your computer stuff today? Still cracking codes?" Asked she.
"Yup. And what about you? " Asked he.
"Nothing. Just that Dad is back and I need to spend today evening with a boring uncle and his daughter and son-in-law." She said looking at the menu card.
"Buffet?" He asked.
"Sure." Said she.
They went to the buffet display and got their plates filled.
They then returned back to the table and sat down with their plates.
"So what about you today evening?" Asked she.
"I'll have extra hours in office today so won't be able to join you guys." Said he looking at his plate.
"Okay then need to hurry up today. Got loads of work pending." Said she and pecked his cheek and he did the same and he also added an'I love you' with it and she walked away.
In the evening she had reached home after a tiring day in office and as her mother opened the door and bursted at her for why she was so late when guests were supposed to visit them. She walked in ignoring her lectures and saw that the living room was totally neat and clean (tip-top). The couches and sofa were covered with clean velvet covers, the glass centre table laid in the centre of the room with a metal artifact on it. She saw the TV cabinet cleaned with not a single bit of dust on it and the corner tables had magazines and flower vases on them.
She couldn't bear such neatness and bumped and sat on a couch making it's velvet crumple and turned the metal artifact on the centre table laying on it's side.
Her mother again started at her when she simply walked away with her backpack and climbed the stairs up to her room and closed it's door.
It was six in the evening when she heard a car enter the gate of their house and looked out of her window and saw a black car enter the house's compound. She rushed and changed to a marune coloured knee length dress and walked downstairs to welcome the guests. She was least interested as she was too tired but for the sake of courtesy she had to tolerate them.
Soon she heard the bell ring and her father went to open the door while she stood in the living room with her mother with a fake warm smile.
The guests entered the house and she noticed a tall figure walk in. She felt herself weak in the knees. She was feeling as if the whole world was turning around her.
She whispered to herself," Raghuvendra!"
The man noticed her and immediately the smile on his face faded.
She quickly wished them all and walked away to her room not thinking what her father's guests would think.
She reached her room and locked the door from inside. She jumped on her bed and started crying by pressing her mouth on the pillow so that her screams could not be heard by the people downstairs.
She cried all night and didn't even go down for dinner. She cried till there was no more tears left in her eyes but yet she wanted to cry.
It had already been morning and she realised that she had to go down for breakfast or else her parents would get to know that something had gone wrong.
She walked down with swelled up eyes and dark circles under them. Her father inquired that what was wrong with her to which she gave an excuse that for working the whole night infront of the laptop had been straining her eyes.
She walked out for office and booked a cab as she didn't want to drive. The cab arrived within a few minutes and she left. She tried to concentrate a lot in work the whole day but couldn't.
She walked out of the office and started to walk. She walked for two hours and then reached home. She started to walk not knowing that she had walked for so long that she had reached home.
She didn't walk in as she never wanted to face her mom or dad. She walked further and even further as she reached her friend Shraddha's house.
She walked in. She rang the bell and almost immediately Shraddha opened the door.
Jiva went in and sat on a sofa. Shraddha came to her and sat beside her.
There was an awkward silence for a few minutes when Shraddha started to speak in order to start a conversation.
"I want to tell you something." Said Shraddha.
"Yeah." She said not looking at her.
"Raghuvendra has got engaged." Said she looking down.
"I know that." Said Jiva in a cracking voice.
"But how?" Asked Shraddha.
"Yesterday he came to my house as my cousin's Fiancé." Said she almost crying.
"And you know what the best part is? He lied to me for whole two months even after being in a long relationship for two years." She said crying.
Shraddha walked to her and said hugging her," He doesn't deserve you. You know? I never thought that he could be such an ass hole."
Jiva cried her heart out by hugging Shraddha.
It was almost nine when Jiva left Shraddha's house. She didn't care to take a transport and decided to walk back home. She reached home by half an hour.
She entered the house to find her mom and dad not there. They had already left for China. She straight away went upstairs and locked herself in her room. She again cried her heart out and then checked her phone. Her mother had two missed calls and her father had six missed calls. There was no calls or messages from Raghuvendra.
She then got a sleeping pill from her mother's medicine box and gulped it with a glass of water and tried to sleep. But she turned all around her bed and tried too sleep but all in vain. Her eyes kept open till the morning.
She walked out from the room and went downstairs and made a cup of coffee for herself amd drank it while sitting in the lawn.
She then got up from the chair and walked in and dressed up for office and left.
As soon as she reached office, a man went to her and said," Jiva, boss is calling you."
She went to her boss's cabin and knocked the door.
"Come in." Said a husky male voice.
She walked in and saw a fat middle aged man sitting on an office chair on the opposite side of a wooden desk kept there.
The man looked at her and his expression immediately changed from calm to angry.
"May I get to know Miss Singhania that what were you doing for the whole day yeasterday? Only one file out of the six and that too full of mistakes? May I know how can I send this file to the client?" Said he screaming and trowing the file at Jiva.
"Sorry Sir." She said softly.
"You must be." Screamed the man.
"I'll completely it by today Sir." Said she.
"And may I know why? To let the deal slip out of hand? I don't like calas people in my office. You are fired Miss Singhania. Out now." Screamed the man.
"Sorry Sir." Said Jiva and walked out.
She reached home and again locked her in her room. She cried, cried and cried till she felt asleep.
She woke up the next moning with a bad dream and screamed out, "Enough!" She pressed her ears with her palms.
She walked out of the house and gott into her car and drove away not knowing where she was going. She dove and drove and drove.
She stopped the car in a red signal. She looked around the place. She noticed a skyscraper under construction. She turned her car to the direction of the skyscraper.
She parked her car outside the compound wall of the building and sneaked inside as the guard in charge was sleeping.
It was a day off so no one was there at that time. She climbed upto the roof of the tower and stood at the edge of the building. She took a deep breath and placed her one leg in the air and balancing on her other leg. She then took another deep breath even deeper than the other and closed her eyes and placed her other leg also in the air and she slowly fell from the tower.
She felt herself even lighter than a feather as she slowly fell from the tower. She then slowly started to lose her consciousness and the last thing she remembered was that her back hit two cylindrical things which were neither soft like feather but even not hard like the cemented ground which she intended to fall on.
