This was something _-dreamcatcher-_ and I promised to do with each other. It's not a tag! Don't worry, you don't have to do anything.

Today we were in choir, and discussing songs we should sing with the group just for fun. I mentioned Viva La Vida by Coldplay, which Cass had never heard. She mentioned Polarize by Twenty One Pilots, which I had never heard. So we promised each other we would go home, listen to the song, and share our thoughts about it via a chapter on our randomness books here on Wattpad. So this is mine! If you want you can look at her chapter too.

First of all, this does sound like a Twenty One Pilots song. It just has their voices and general sound theme. It also reminds me of another one of their songs Ride.

Second of all, the music video is kind of... strange?... to say the least. It reminds me of the music video for Chandelier by... erm, someone! I don't remember and I'm feeling lazy right now. Here's the video version if you want to see it. The one at the top is the lyric video.

The song theme in general seems kind of chaotic, crazy, and uncontrolled. It seems like what the person who feelings we are hearing here would be thinking.

This person seems to want help, as seen in the chorus: "Help me polarize, help me polarize, help me out." I'm getting from this song that this person has problems ("My friends and I, we got a lot of problems"), gets in trouble a lot, disappoints people, etc, and wants to be good, but he needs help. At the very beginning, it sounds like he's got problems with a relationship: "You know where I'm coming from. Though I am running to you, all our feelings deny, deny, denial."  In the next part, it sounds like he has family troubles: "I wanted to be a better brother, better son." So, which one? Of course, it could be just everyone.

Or maybe he is with a bad group of people, and that's where the friends come in that also have troubles. These "friends" influence him badly and make do bad things with his girl and to family. What the exact message is, it's clear that this guy needs help with the things he has done, and that he's having trouble solving his problems.

What do I think of it personally? Well, I can see how people like it. Its got a good rhythm, and you could pick up some of the words after hearing it a few times. I think it also could be one of those songs where the more you hear it the more you like it, to a certain point. I like it pretty well so far. If I heard it on the radio randomly I would turn it up!
