I did a theatre summer camp which just finished Saturday (July 29). I was part of it last year too, but enjoyed it quite a bit more this year. The just-graduated 5th-8th graders work on four shows each year, while also taking three classes each day. I was in the musical, which was Willy Wonka Jr.

One of the questions in the tag was favorite song. How this relates to the tag is that I've been listening to, learning, and enjoying a lot of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" songs like "Pure Imagination," "Think Positive," and "The Candy Man." In the camp I also took a musical theatre class where we performed a Mary Poppins medley for Fine Arts Night. (a lot of the classes perform something they've been work in on for the five weeks of the summer camp.) Our class performed part of "Chim Chim Cheree," "Step in Time," and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Now I know how to spell "supercalif..." and do the hand motions for it!

I'm kind of sad now that the camp is over, though. I made some friends there, but they all live in the city where the camp is while I live 30 mins away. Most are going to the high school where the camp is located while I stay at my small town's high school. I probably won't see them until next year. I have friends in my home town, though, which will be going to my school. I just feel torn sometimes between the two crowds of people. I want to do more with the theatre group, but I'm not completely sure how. There is a theatre company I could try working with that has many of the same adults as the summer camp for directors/volunteers. Maybe I'll try to get in that. I'd don't know.
