The first time I saw Peridot, I was like, whoa. INSTANT HATRED UPON SIGHT.

I tried my best never to interact with Peridot. I practically lived in the hayloft. But secretly, I almost kind of wanted to see her. To take all my anger out on Peridot like I used to do with Jasper. When I was in the hayloft alone, I would find myself thinking about Peridot and Jasper. Jasper, who I had loved, and Peridot... who I... I...

Often I would fall asleep, and wake up in panic, crying. 

But not today.

Because my dream was worse than ever.

I was in the barn, in my hayloft. Peridot came upstairs. No pumpkin. She laid down in the hayloft next to me.

"You know, Lapis..."

"What?"

"You don't have to be afraid. You're on Earth now!"

"But the Diamonds-"

"Shhh..."

And Peridot silenced her with a kiss.

I kissed her back, letting the tears fall as we cuddled and kissed.

"Well, Lapis. Look at who it is... looks like I was always right all along."

I immediately broke the kiss.

"Jasper! I-- I can explain--"

"You'll pay for that one, Lazuli, you know you will."

I was sobbing. "No! Please!"

And then I saw the Corrupting Light in the distance and everything exploded.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!!!" I screamed, waking up. Peridot immediately showed up. "L...Lapis? You okay?"

I regained my composure. "Yes, Peridot, everything is perfectly alright. And I would prefer it if you call me Lazuli."

"Uh... okay, Lazuli...?"

"Now get out." I could feel the hatred building in me.

"Uh... okay. Bye, Lazuli..."

Then Peridot disappeared down the ladder. Just as she did, I felt the tears start to come again.

I don't know why.
