I laid in bed, thinking about Lapis.

How I had seen Jasper torture her in prison. How I had stood up to Jasper. How Jasper had hurt me. How I had blamed Lapis for it. How I hated that I'd done that.

But mostly, about how much I'd loved her. From day one to now. How much I STILL loved her, and always would. 

I stood up and quietly tiptoed up to the hayloft, up the ladder. I saw her sleeping there, so peaceful and beautiful and quiet. So I laid down next to her and looked at the stars out the hayloft window. Then I felt her body shift over to me, wrapping around mine. Her face frowned now, full of anguish. Oh no.

She was having another nightmare.

She began to sweat, tears squeezing out of her tightly shut eyes. She was shaking, and then sat up with a sob.

Tears poured down her face. There was straw in her hair and on her clothes. She was sweating and shaking. Her hair was a mess, her eyes wild and full of fear. "J...jasper..." She whispered, and then turned to me.

"W-wha....what are y-you-"

I grabbed Lapis's shaking shoulders and kissed her, shocking not only Lapis but myself. I felt my cheeks flush green, and then realized how tense Lapis was. I quickly released the kiss and turned away from her, tears already forming and rolling down my cheeks in hot, salty droplets.

I turned around, tears flooding my cheeks, and ran.

"Wait, Peridot! PERIDOT! WAIT!" Cried Lapis, but I was already running out of the barn as fast as I could, tears pouring like waterfalls down my deeply blushed cheeks.

I ran to the big rock, my favorite place. It was a giant rock up on a hill, from which you could see Beach City and the shoreline. I climbed to the top and sobbed all my tears out.

I don't know how long I was there for, but I felt something touch my back. A little inhale. I turned around, and there was Lapis.

"Peridot."

"Lazuli." I said coldly. "What do you want."

"Peridot, I..."

"Yeah. You probably hate me. How could you have EVER LOVED SOMEONE LIKE ME, ANYWAY!" I shouted, turning away from Lapis.

Her arm touched my cheek and turned it towards her.

I let the tears roll down my face slowly.

"But I do." She said.

And then she kissed me.
