"He drowns in his dreams, An exquisite extreme I know, He's as damned as he seems, And more heaven than a heart could hold..." - Beautiful Disaster - Kelly Clarkson

The saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies. It comes from the people you love and trust the most

1334 BCE, Egypt

Ahmesseker laid on his golden bed, the gentle warm breeze blowing through the curtains. His head tossing and turning through the tumultuous dreams of turmoil.

"Die!"

The venomous voice echoed in his ears, twisting his sweet dreams into night terrors of betrayal and his death.

"Die!"

The volume grew as his ears rang with a thunderous roar. Eyes clenched tightly shut, desperately trying to escape the voice.

"Die!"

He jolted awake. The last shout sounded as if it were right there beside his ear.

His chest heaved as he desperately gasped for air, while his fearful eyes flickered around the room, lingering on the shadows that surrounded his room. Paranoia pumping profusely through his blood stream.

The dreams had only started a mere couple of weeks ago, it was only brief, but lately it had shifted. Every time he closed his eyes, it was the same voice who greeted him. The dreams that truly shook him to his core were the ones depicting his death, all he ever saw was his body in a pool of his crimson blood.

He had never been fearful for his life until these dreams had started, his advisors were alarmed as they knew God's often used dreams to communicate with their Pharaohs.

But why would they want him dead? He was a fair and righteous ruler.

His mind went blank as he felt the hair on the back of his neck prickling, a shiver traveled down his spine as his body tensed while he held his breath. The only sound he could hear was his heart hammering rapidly in his chest, he could feel it. Eyes on him.

Someone was watching him. Waiting for him.

It was like he knew what was going to happen...he could feel it.

The shadow that was cast on the stone floor of his bed chamber shifted ever so slightly, drawing his eyes to the corner of the room. Someone was hidden in the shroud of darkness.

He knew then

The dreams were going to come true, tonight.

He would not live to see the sunrise.

Closing his eyes, he awaited his sentence.

Under the cover of darkness, in the silence of the night, the young ambitious Pharaoh Ahmesseker took his final breath.

His servants would wake to find his body littered with puncture wounds, in a pool of his own blood. Repeatedly stabbed while he slept.

Though Pharaohs were treated and respected as God's themselves, there were always those out there who sought to gain power for themselves.

No matter the cost.

With the sudden death of their ruler, his people would wake to find a new ruler.

A new King.

The young impressionable brother of Ahmesseker; Tutankhaten.

Though he was only just a boy.

But will an interference with fate change his course?

Or will he be doomed to relieve this moment again?

A/N: Hi all! Sorry for the long awaited chapter, the prologue changed many times, but I'm finally happy! I hope you all liked the chapter, please let me know what you thought in the comments
A side note, in case people didn't know; Tutankhaten was the name his father gave him, however, once he became Pharaoh he changed it to Tutankhamun.
