Back here with another chapter. This chapter will involve the race as well as a surprised twist during it. So, let's just jump into it.

If anyone wants to take a guess...

Everyone rode in or was on the wings of the X-Tornado with Tails piloting. Azura; however, ran on foot as he was slightly ahead of the plane at a slight jog speed. Everyone was impressed as Sonic had a bit of jealousy.

"Hey, could we go faster, buddy?" Sonic said to Tails who smiled nodding. Everyone smiled watching Azura wondering how he will react.

Azura hears the noise of a loud cannon looking up at the biplane as it sped ahead of him. A frown was on his face as everyone laughed a bit.

"See he's never seen true flying speed before," Tails said as Sonic high-fiving Amy. However, when the initial connection between the two hedgehogs happen. An even bigger cannon noise sounded as a dust trail began rising to where the biplane was flying at. An azure blur sped by the biplane on foot as it glowing an azure color with its eyes remain unaffected and a vibrant magenta color.

"Is that Azura's speed?!" Amy said in awe. Sonic was shocked and also in awe. Azura's legs as well as his arms moved beyond what the human eye could detect. However, what impressed everyone was that Azura was moving faster than the X-Tornado when the plane is at top speed which could outrun most military grade jets. Leaving an azure blaze behind him, Azura smirks slightly figuring he left everyone in awe as he shook his head.

"You all are seriously trying to test my speed against a plane," Azura said as he stares ahead and crashes into a boulder. Tails lands the plane where Azura crashed into the boulder as everyone jumped off or climbed out of the vehicle laughing a bit.

"You good, Speedy?" Sonic asks snickering as Azura raises his hand and an azure energy ball appears.

"Chaos Spear!" Azura's muffled voice said destroying the boulder as Azura dusted himself off. Shadow was wide eyed and slightly impressed at Azura's control of chaos power. Afterwards, Sonic reads the note then pointed straight ahead.

"There's an old laboratory ahead," Sonic said as everyone had their signature extreme gear and style on except Azura. Tails attempted to explain to Azura what extreme gears were only to confuse the azure hedgehog harder. So, Tails just told Azura to watch the race really closely. Everyone began walking towards the location already seeing three more people waiting and with the extreme gear which were hoverboards. The leader being a hawk with two variations of green feathers jumped onto the ground holding his board smirking. His boots red and black as they shined in the sun.

"So, you finally came Sonic," the hawk said as Sonic smiles adjust his green sunglasses.

"You thought I would miss this, Jet?" Sonic said as Azura stare at the hawk.

"So, that's Jet the Hawk..." Azura thought to himself.

The magenta swan laughed slightly as she jumped landing next to Jet as does the big gray creature. The three laugh as the girl notices Azura and had a wicked smile on her face.

"Where's his extreme gear shorty?" The girl asks Tails who had an irritated look.

"He's new, Wave, so lay off him," Tails said as the girl named Wave the Swan chuckles.

"Alright," Wave said as Knuckles went over to the gray male and began arguing with hearing the name Storm. Azura frowns slightly as Jet points behind him.

"This the Desert Laboratory and Observatory," Jet said as everyone stares at the massive abandoned lab. An observatory was on top of the lab as Azura smiles. Everyone noticed the sharp curves, rails, and ramps all around the outside perimeter of the building.

"And it will be a free for all race," Jet then added, "So, everyone with the exception of your friend there have to race."

Azura growls slightly noticing Jet's, Wave's, and Storm's smirks as Jet said the last part. Everyone else nodded as they stepped onto the track's starting point. Everyone had different extreme ranging from air skates to hover bikes as Azura stand by the sidelines frowning slightly. He watches as a green line moved quickly behind everyone watching everyone shuffling back then began running staying behind the line as the gate blocking the track shuts off and everyone jumped onto their hoverboards or bikes and took off. Everyone who had skates began skating on the track as Azura's eyes widen.

"Cool," Azura said thinking.

After a long wait, Azura sees Jet pass the finish line as everyone had wide eyes. Wave and Storm congratulated him on the win.

"See I knew you weren't faster than me!" Jet yelled at Sonic who was angry a bit. Everyone hopped over the fence as the three Babylonians took several victory laps to further spite the others. Shadow removes his air skates putting his regular hover shoes on clearly angry over the loss.

"Well, that's just freakin' great!" Shadow yells. Everyone began ranting as Azura stares at Shadow's extreme gear, air skates called The Darkness, with a thought in mind.

"Teach them a lesson..." The same voice from the fight said, "You can pull it off."

Azura looks down then slowly and carefully snuck his way over to the group and took Shadow's air skates as he moves away from everyone. Taking his shoes off and placing them close-by to the group, Azura puts The Darkness on feeling how extremely light they were as Azura smiles. He frowns looking at his clothes.

"These clothes don't fit with this kind of sport," Azura said as his clothes glowed a vibrant emerald green and changed. Azura was now wearing an azure jacket with green stripes running down the sleeves. The white shirt still present as the jacket was zipped up. Azura looked at his pants as he was wearing racing pants that were very baggy and loose yet fit his lower body. They were azure having green stripes running down the sides of the legs. Azura then felt a headpiece on as he touches blue goggles that appeared on his head. Examining them, he noticed the magenta eyeglass in them as he smirks. Putting the goggles on, Azura jumps over the guard heading over to a starting point.

"Don't worry, gang," Azura said putting his hands into his pockets watching the gate electrify, "I will teach them a lesson."

"New challenger!" A computer generated voice said bring everyone outside the track into reality as they looked around. Shadow then notices his extreme gear was gone.

"Who took it?!" Shadow yells as Rouge looks at the starting gate.

"Look!" Rouge yells pointing at Azura as everyone ran over to the guard with wide eyes.

"He's going to lose!" Cream yells worriedly.

"I don't know Cream..." Amy said watching Azura shuffle backwards. He kept his focus forward smiling. As soon as the green line passed him heading towards the gate, Azura hopped then took off towards the gate generating wind behind. Barely missing the electricity, Azura began skating on the track heading towards the oblivious Babylonians who were still celebrating and didn't know Azura had entered the race. Azura sees the first set of sharp curves as he began drifting very sharply and still had his hands in his pockets.

"That's a very unusual way to skate," Amy said as Shadow shook his head.

"Actually, that's one professional way to skate but I thought Azura never participated in any extreme gear races before," Shadow said.

"Same here," Tails said, "But Azura does keep on surprising us."

Everyone nodded as they watched Azura race. Azura sees the Babylonians as he smirks leaning forward slightly and thus boosting towards them. However, his boosting was extremely ridiculous since he was very lightweight. He blasts through Jet, Wave, and Storm knocking them off balance as they now realized it was a race.

"Who was that?!" Jet said looking at a stationaried Azura who was smirking. Wave had wide eyes as Azura laughs.

"I think you three celebrate way too earlier," Azura said as Shadow notices Azura wearing his air skates. He was angry but smirked slightly.

"Well I'll be..." Shadow said, "Clever azure hedgehog."

"You may have beaten the fastest thing alive," Azura said skating a full 180° having his back facing Jet, Wave, and Storm, "but can you beat the Fastest Azure Hedgehog Alive?"

Jet, Wave, and Storm mounted their boards as Azura took off with the three treasure hunters tailing behind him. Azura drifts incredibly sharp around a curve gaining a huge boost as he heads for a sharp upwards ramp. He crouches down preparing a jump as he smiled. When he reaches the tip of the ramp, Azura jumps into the air going skyhigh as he performs several tricks landing on an upper platform heading inside the laboratory. Azura began riding the rails that were located around the platform. At one point, Azura takes a flying ramp using his Psychokinesis to enable flight as he accelerated through acceleration rings landing ahead of Jet, Wave, and Storm.

"Get him Wave and Storm!" Jet orders as the swan boosts towards Azura with her wrench out.

"Take this!" Wave said swinging her wrench. Azura frowns stopping slightly causing Wave to wildly miss shifting herself to Azura's right. Azura boosts quickly as his fist glows a magenta color.

"Take this!" Azura said giving Wave a left hook twisting up Wave's body. Azura kept going having fun as everyone at the guard was laughing a bit.

"Incredible!" Everyone said as they watched Azura sped by with Azura saluting them as he crosses the finish line.

On the final lap, Jet and Azura were neck-and-neck as they were on the final sharp turn and ramp. Azura quickly drifts on the inside of the curve quickly gaining the lead but Jet boosts ahead of him laughing.

"Looks like I get another win after this ramp," Jet said as Azura tried to pass him but Jet stayed in front of him. Azura frowned but smirked small having an ulterior motive for staying behind Jet. Azura jumps at the same time but with a delayed reaction as Jet. Jet does tricks landing laughing.

"Jet! He tricked you!" Wave said pointing above Jet. Azura did tricks and flew over Jet which made Wave's warning too late as Azura zooms passed the finish line and taking the win. Azura skids to a stop smirking at Jet who slammed his fists into the ground.

"Even though I didn't have my own whatever gear," Azura said to Wave, Jet, and Storm, "I managed to beat you at your own game."

Everyone hopped over the guard and picked up Azura cheering for him.

"Ok guys!" Azura said laughing a bit as they placed him on his feet. He turns to Shadow and frowned, "Sorry for stealing your skates, but those three needed to be taught a lesson."

"It's cool, but take those off before I break your legs," Shadow said as Azura nodded taking the skates off handing them back to Shadow, "but that was very professional of you the way you skated."

"I didn't know I could," Azura said with a small smile. Everyone began laughing as Azura's clothes changed back to his normal ones, "and I didn't know my clothes did that too."

Everyone smiled nodding as they began walking back to the biplane while congratulating Azura. Azura; however, had another memory jog as he remembers the same hedgehog from his last memory riding on a hoverboard and skating in air skates. Azura pants as Sonic looked at him.

"You had another memory lapse?" Sonic asks as Azura nods walking with him listening Azura explain what this memory was.

"Could it be possible that the hedgehog in your memories... Is you." Sonic asks.
