Peter doesn't remember falling asleep that night. He wakes up in an unfamiliar room, still in his clothes from yesterday. He moves to get out of the bed and suddenly feels a sharp pain in his ribs. Shit, he must have slept in his binder all night. It's only then that he notices Calvin lying fast asleep next to him, a faint smile on his lips. He looks over at a clock wondering what the time is and sees that it says 9:45 am. He leaps out of the bed, making Calvin jolt awake and let out a gasp of shock.

"Pete, what are you doing?" he grumbles, his voice deepened with sleep.

"We're late for school!" Peter says and quickly rushes to the bathroom to try and tidy himself up. He hears Calvin chuckling as he tries to fix his mess of hair in the mirror.

"This isn't funny!" Peter yells and gives up on his hair and goes back to Calvin's room to try and tidy his clothes as much as possible. "We bunked off yesterday and now we're over an hour late! Oh God, May's gonna kill me!" He looks over at Calvin who's now crying with laughter. "What the hell is so funny?!"

"Pete, that clock hasn't worked for weeks!' he cries, wiping away tears. He starts laughing again, so Peter hits him with the closest pillow he can find.

"You're such a prick!" he yells,  now laughing too.

"It's not my fault you got the time wrong," he grins.

"You're still an ass," Peter replies. He goes to hit Calvin with the pillow again, but he catches it and pulls it out of his hand and whacks Peter with it before he can defend himself. Peter yells and tries to push Calvin away from him, but not too hard in case he hurt him. He manages to get Calvin and the pillow off of him and pin him down, smirking down at him.

"Wow. You're stronger than you look," Calvin breathes, a shocked smile plastered on his face. Peter shrugs and grins back.

"I guess you don't know everything about me."

Peter finally manages to convince Calvin to get out of bed and go back to his house so he can get changed before heading to school. He knocks on his front door before slowly entering, looking around to see if May is nearby. When he doesn't see her, he signals for Calvin to follow him inside. They manage to make it five steps down the hallway before Peter hears someone clearing their throat from the front room. He cringes and slowly turns to see a pissed-off-looking Aunt May standing with her arms crossed. Her hair's a mess and she looks like she hasn't slept.

"May, I can expl-" Peter begin.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, where the hell have you been?!" she screams. Peter opens his mouth to reply but he's cut off again. "First, I got a call from school saying that you ditched halfway through the day, and then you don't come home? You had me worried sick! This is so unlike you, Peter!"

"May, I was-"

"And you didn't call or text me and I just..." May takes a deep breath and tries to regain herself. "God, Peter, why didn't you say something? An excuse would have been better than nothing and even then it would have to be one hell of an excuse," she rants. Peter tries to speak again, but this time Calvin interrupts him.

"We're really sorry, Mrs May," he says, stepping out from around the corner. "Peter came over to my house yesterday. We had a bit of an argument and I thought it best to settle it somewhere private. We forgot about the time and when it got too late I suggested that he stay over. I'm so sorry for not informing you." May's jaw drops and her eyes practically pop out of her head.

"So-So Peter was with you last night?" she asks, completely stunned.

"Yes, Ma'am. I'm Calvin Lawrence," he replies and puts out a hand for her to shake. May slowly shakes it, looking him up and down.

"Uh-huh," she manages to say. Peter looks back and forth between them before interjecting.

"So, um, May? Calvin and I have school to get to so I'm just gonna get changed real quick, okay?" he blurts out. May nods in response.

"Okay," she mumbles. He quickly races upstairs and put on the nearest set of clean clothes he can find. He's back downstairs in less than 2 minutes.

"Right. Let's go," he says, pulling Calvin away from a still shocked Aunt May.

"Yeah, cool. It was nice meeting you, Ms Parker," Calvin says as Peter drags him out of the house.

"You too, Calvin," she replies, giving them a small wave. Peter waves back and quickly shuts the door behind them.
