As soon as their lips connect, Peter feels the same fuzzy feeling in his stomach as he did the first time they kissed. Calvin moves over to his side of the sofa and places a hand on his waist and Peter's absorbed in the moment, thinking only about Calvin and what he's doing. It's only when Calvin goes to hold his face and accidentally touches the scar running across it that everything from before flashes back. Peter quickly pulls away from him and can see that he's shocked and disappointed, but he had to know that they're not making another mistake.

"Cal... We can't do this," he sighs. He can already feel himself turning into an emotional wreck again. "I like you but... after everything that's happened, I don't want either of us to get hurt again." He gets up to leave, knowing that the longer he stays the more uncomfortable this situation will get, but Calvin's hand grabs his and pulls him back down to the sofa.

"Pete, don't leave," he whispers, tears forming in his eyes. "I know I hurt you, but I was confused and scared. I didn't know how you felt about me and I didn't want to lose you because I think... I think..." he trails off. "I think that I might be in love with you."

"Really?" Peter says quietly. He sees Calvin's cheeks heating up as he nods.

"Yeah," he mumbles. "I know that's a lot but it's the truth." Peter struggles to form a sentence, his mind is completely blank from shock. Calvin sighs and lets go of Peter's hand. "Sorry. You can leave if you want to."

"I'm not going to leave," Peter replies, placing a hand on Calvin's shoulder. And he means it. Because now he truly understands how Calvin feels.

Coming out as trans to people was one of the scariest things Peter ever had to do. He was lucky that no one besides Flash and a few of his friends had a problem with him, but still, the panic of not knowing how someone will react to it still fills him with anxiety. It never even occurred to him that this is how Calvin must have felt when he came out to him, not knowing whether he'd leave or stay.

"Calvin, I'm not leaving, okay?" Peter says, smiling at him. "I can't imagine not having you in my life, not after everything that's happened." Calvin looks up at him and smiles back.

"In all honesty, I'm more surprised that you actually like me," Peter continues. "I mean, I'm a complete mess." He grins at Calvin whose face instantly brightens.

"You're not a mess," he replies. "You're just weird."

"Okay, now you can shut up," Peter laughs, feeling his cheeks heat up. Calvin grins at him and stares into his eyes, not taking them off of him for one second.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, I'm definitely, 1000 percent, madly in love with you," he says. And this time, Peter knows that he truly means it.
