Ellie and Stiles learn that the hard way. the two teens have known each other long before middle school- the two now starting anew junior year despite their supernatural mishaps the year prior- and with the new year comes new people. rose, her one close friend that she's known for a few years less than stiles, points this out to her, a boy that seems to be not much older than her- if at all- that seems particularly fond of the aspects of physics.

he goes by the name malachai parker- stating he would much rather be called "kai" for short.

he's nice enough that she doesn't see anything wrong with him, scott and stiles thinking otherwise, they think he's trouble, and for all she knows they're right, but whatever happened to chances? the one thing scott mccall preached about that they actually listened to. she invites him over to study for A.P. chemistry when he reveals something far more intriguing than science- of any form- something closer to the lines of murderous and magical all at once, she has a choice to make, tell her friends to help rid beacon hills of the monster residing upon them, or, fall in love with the monster.
