Part Three

Back at camp, the man had just finished securing Legolas. Legolas didn't fight it because he knew that it might echo back towards Aragorn. He just sat quietly, observing his surroundings. The woman in the dark blue cloak walked towards Legolas. Her companion had gone with Aragorn.

"Not got the guts to fight?" She asked, mockingly. Without waiting for Legolas to reply, she said, "Do you wanna tell us why you were tracking the Orcs? It would make things a lot more pleasant for you." She flashed a charming smile, which almost made Legolas believe that she meant no harm to them.

"My companion already told you." He answered.

"Ha!" The women barked a quick laugh. "That's likely!" Just then a man riding a horse burst into the camp. "Keldara! Orders from Karock!" The horseman shouted. The woman snarled and walked over to the horseman. "What are they?" She asked exasperatedly. The horseman whispered into Keldara's ear. A wicked grin spread across her face. She walked over to Legolas.

"It seems your friend's behavior wasn't very nice." She said smoothly, "I'm supposed to give you a..." She paused, "present." And that smile spread across her face again. Keldara unsheathed a knife and held it to Legolas's neck. She pressed just hard enough to to let a trickle of blood run down. She took it away, and with a quick and sudden movement, she stabbed Legolas in his right arm. "How does that feel?" She asked unsympathetically.

Legolas cried out at the sudden pain, but silenced it soon after. He bit his lip tightly, desperately trying to stay awake and not cry out again. He tried to free his arm of the invasive blade, but couldn't with still being bound. Legolas' head leaned against the tree and he closed his eyes, ignoring everything else.

Keldara smiled at Legolas' cry. She wiggled the blade around. "Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't realize the blade was still in there!" She sarcastically apologized. "I'll take that out." Slowly, she slid the blade out of his arm. "Well that'll be all for today. I don't think your friend behaved that badly." She smirked. "We'll see how he behaves in later time." She sheathed the bloody blade and walked away, leaving Legolas with his wound.

As she walked away, Legolas summed up enough strength and finally responded, "Dôl gîn lost!" He shouted. (Your head is empty)

Legolas' eyes widened. He scolded himself vigorously for his foolish behavior. Swallowing his pride, he spoke, "No! Please, leave him alone..." He practically begged.

"Too late." She said. "The horseman has already left. Maybe next time you should think before you speak." Keldara walked away and went into her tent that was just set up. Legolas' shoulders sagged. Truly, this was a terrible situation. He had no idea what to do. Closing his eyes slowly, Legolas tried to focus on anything but the pain in his arm.

Meanwhile, Aragorn was studying the Orc tracks. He guessed that they weren't too far behind them. The Orcs were moving slowly. Concerned, Aragorn told the leader of the group, Karock, about it.

"Well then hurry up and find them." Karock answered, slightly annoyed.

The man Karock had sent to hurt Legolas came riding back just as he finished speaking. He dismounted and hurried to Karock, "Sir, I did as you said and Keldara punished him..."

"Good." Karock smirked.

"but...when she was walking away he shouted something to her in elvish, I think, and she told me to punish the elf's friend for doing that." The man gulped, hoping his leader who understand.

Karock raised an eyebrow. Aragorn sighed and asked, "Do you know what words he used?"

The man struggled to recall the words, "I think it was something like...Dôl...gîn...um...lost? But I'm not entirely sure..." Aragorn stifled a laugh. He looked at the Orc tracks to keep from having Karock see him laughing.

Karock frowned, "What does it mean?" He demanded.

"Um..." Aragorn faltered, wondering if he should tell the truth. 'Well might as well.' He thought, 'Anyway I can't think of something else that I could lie that it meant. He shrugged "It means 'Your head is empty'."

Karock frowned while the man standing near him covered up a smile.

"I see...well that does call for a lesson." Karock started, "Darlen," he looked at the man near him, "break his arm." Karock sneered at Aragorn, "He doesn't need that for tracking."

"But I will for fighting." Aragorn quickly spoke up. Karock just nodded at Darlen. Darlen walked over and Aragorn braced himself. The pain that shot up his arm was immense. It was all Aragorn could do to not cry out in pain. He gritted his teeth. 'I'll put a splint on it later tonight.' He thought to himself. Darlen walked away, smirking slightly.

Karock faked a sympathetic smile, "Oh, does that hurt? Well, thank your friend for it when...well if you see him again." Karock neared Aragorn and leaned near threateningly, "If either of you do something we don't like, the other will pay. Understand?"

Aragorn slowly nodded. This was going to be an interesting few days. Or weeks.

When they stopped to camp, Aragorn found a straight stick and made a splint for his arm. If he touched his arm too hard, it erupted in pain. He did his best to shrug it off, just holding onto the hope that they would be able to escape soon.
