Nico
"Why can't we just go by plane?" Will asked. My head was between my knees.
"We're going on as illegal quest, Zeus is bound to shoot us down."
He groaned, his hand on his stomach. "I hate trains so much," he grumbled.
I glared at him and he shut up. We had wasted our one danger free day in the hospital and I was feeling an extremely dark presence in this train, but I didn't know what. The train jolted to a stop and the momentum pushed Will towards me, making his lips jammed against mine. I opened my mouth by instinct, and he took the opportunity, drawing me closer. I heard a sharp giggle. Through the corner of my eye, I saw a young child, looked about the age of 12, watching us. I pushed will off quickly.
"I'm sorry kid," I said, a bit too aware of the tingling in my chest.
She giggled. "It's fine!! I love how you aren't worried about how people think of you. I clasped will's hand, and snuck a quick look at him. He didn't look as comfortable as I was, although I wasn't reassured either. The air was still heavy and dark.
"Didn't they say we weren't allowed to have pets?" Huh? I shot a look at will, silently asking him what he meant. He wasn't looking at me, he was staring at a space right next to her. She looked around. "What pet?"
I had to do something or Will would give us away. I swatted his thigh, and got up to leave. He got the message and followed me out. Once the girl was out of earshot I turned around. "Will–"
"Yes I know!" He snapped. "You're going to tell me there's nothing there, and that I'm crazy like everyone else!"
Wait what? I stared at Will in shock.
"Will, listen, I–"
"No! I thought you were different! I thought you understood, what it was like to..." He sighed. I was getting more annoyed by the second. Will paused and continued. "I should've"–"
I finally had enough. I pulled will down to kiss him firmly on his lips. He still tasted like sunshine. I broke away and stared into his eyes. Mission accomplished, Will looked like his head was in the clouds, so I could now speak without being interrupted.
"As I was saying, I'm not saying that there wasn't anything there. I'm saying that if there was something you need to act oblivious to it."
Will had come back to life. "Why"
I sighed in frustration. "Because, sunshine, that girl could be an enemy, who now knows that you can see through the mist."
Will's eyes widened. "That's not going to be an advantage for us,"
I nodded. "No kidding. Did you get a look at the girl?"
Will frowned. "Yeah, but something seemed weird. I saw this–"
"Hi there!" I started as the little girl skipped towards us.
"Oh hi, by the way I never got your name," I politely said.
"Sure, my name is Europe, what about you?"
"I'm Nico and he's–"
"Burt solace." He interrupted. I tried my best not to smack him, but my efforts were to no avail.
"Ow! Have some humor would you neeks?" Will looked at Europe with a glint in his eyes.
"Will I swear–"
"You can call him neeks if you want to."
"Alright I am going to–" I couldn't go on, it would expose who I really was.
Will apparently realized that. "That's right neeks none of that," he winked. I glowered at him.
Europe chuckled. "You guys are a great couple."
Will said thankyou at the same time I said shut up.
She giggled again. "Too bad it won't last." With that she disappeared into a puff of air, leaving both me and will in stunned silence.
