F I F T E E N
Later that day.
I've been sitting in our room for the last 2 hours. I still feel sick. It must have been the food last night, I had different food than everyone else.
I sit on my bed and scroll through social media on my phone.
A picture of my old best friend pops up.
"Oh my God, Barbara!" I gasp.
She was my best friend in school. She joined later in the semester as an exchange student from Venezuela. Her Korean was really good, she picked it up quickly.
I miss her. I haven't seen her in a year. She travelled back to Venezuela during the gap year to visit family before she came back to Korea for work.
She updated her profile picture! She looks amazing.
I send her a message.
I hesitate. I can't send her pictures, she'd never believe me. And Barbara isn't exactly known for being quiet. She'd definitely tell somebody...
Ah, yeah. She's a huge BTS fan like me. She's crazy for them...
Shit, how am I gonna sneak her a picture of Yoongi without her recognising him? She basically studies the boys head to toe.
I think she can even tell them apart by their fingernails...
I set my phone down on the bedside table.
My sickness has eased off, and now I'm hungry.
I check the time, wondering how long I have to wait until Yoongi gets back so we can go out to eat.
5:15pm. What time are they due back?
I get up and start to plan my outfit.
Agh, what do I wear though? He's no help.
After 10 minutes of rummaging through my clothes, I finally decide on an outfit.
I decided to go for something more on the casual side.
I'm wearing a beige velvet mid length dress with long white sleeves and white flats, paired with gold hoop earrings and my hair down curled at the ends.
I check the time - 5:45pm.
As I'm applying my makeup, Yoongi walks through the door.
I smile at him. "Hi!" I say excitedly.
"Hey baby." Hey says.
"Oh, wow. You look beautiful." He says, walking over to me and placing a peck on my lips.
"Thank you." I giggle.
"I'm gonna jump in the shower really quickly and change my clothes. Then we'll go. Table is booked for 7pm." He says,
"Okay." I respond, applying lipstick.
I'm a mix of nerves and excitement. This'll be the first time we'll be out alone together in public, and I'm nervous about what could happen. Will people recognise him? Will they approach him? Take pictures? Will this become front page news tomorrow?
Everything is going over in my head. I don't know if I'm ready for everybody to know about me.
I shrug it off and continue doing my makeup.
"Don't overthink it like you always do, Jangmi." I mutter to myself.
20 minutes later.
"Alright, you ready?" Yoongi asks holding his hand out to me.
I gently place my hand in his and give him a nod.
He looks really good.
Really good.
His hair is dark, and he's wearing all black again with a small hoop earring. Just how I like it. He looks amazing in black.
We walk outside and I'm greeted with a black stretch limo.
I give him a confused look as he stops by the door, opening it and gesturing for me to get in.
"You hired a limo?" I say raising an eyebrow.
"Yes. This is a special occasion." He says. "Now get in." He adds, smiling at me.
I chuckle at him and get into the limo.
Oh my God, it's... stunning.
As I enter I look all around me, the flooring, the ceiling, the chairs, the lights... I take a seat and Yoongi follows, sitting down next to me.
"You didn't have to go through all this trouble you know." I say, still looking around in awe.
"I wanted to. You mean a lot to me, and I wanted to make it up to you for last night. I never want to make you feel like that again. I never want to see you have to stay in another man's room again because of me." He continues.
"And I'm sorry if I come across jealous. I can't help it. I think to myself how lucky I am to have someone as beautiful, caring, smart and amazing as you every day." He says.
"I love you." He whispers, leaning closer to mould his lips to mine.
He pulls away and rests his forehead against mine, his eyes still closed.
"I love you too." I whisper back.
The journey to our destination was so romantic. The whole way there Yoongi never let go of my hand. He showered me with compliments, giving me little kisses and we were talking about everything, really getting to know each other better.
The limo pulls up and Yoongi gets out, holding the door open for me reaching his hand out for me to take. I grab his hand and he helps pull me out. As I stand on the kerb I look around to see where we are.
A gasp leaves my mouth as I take in the scenery. It's breathtakingly beautiful. Yoongi lightly places his hand at the small of my back, leading me down the alleyway.
I look at him, and all I can feel is love.
We're walking hand in hand down the path before we stop outside a building. He leads me inside and again I can't believe my eyes.
Yoongi takes control and informs the front of house staff of our booking. The man leads us to our table, and we take our seats. I gawp at Yoongi. I'm completely and utterly speechless. I can't believe the amount of effort he went through for this. For us.
He lightly grabs my hand, intertwining his fingers with mine over the table.
"I feel a little under dressed. You could have at least told me to wear something a bit more fancy." I whisper.
"You don't need to. You're dressed perfectly." He says, gently caressing his thumb over my hand.
The waiter approaches our table and takes our order. I don't understand a word of it, so I asked Yoongi to order for me. I love any kind of food, so I don't mind.
The hours fly by as we eat our food and talk, Yoongi gives me nothing but his full attention and affection all night. I feel spoiled. We finish our main course and order for dessert. Yoongi ordered for us to share a strawberry cheesecake with raspberry puree and whipped cream. My favourite!
"I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed tonight. This has been amazing. I've never experienced anything like this." I say sincerely.
"To be honest, this is actually my first ever date. Nobody has taken me out before." I say shyly.
He widens his eyes at me.
"What? You're joking right?" He says.
"No. This is all new to me. I - I'm speechless." I say, feeling tears start to build at the back of my eyes.
"Baby... Don't cry." He says, leaning forwards and lightly grazing his thumb over my cheek, wiping away a tear.
I raise my hand and cup his hand on my cheek. "No, they're happy tears. I'm completely overwhelmed. It's beautiful, I love it. Thank you so much." I say.
"Don't thank me, jagi. It's the least I could do. I want more times like this with you. I love spending time with you, just being with you." He says. He pulls his hand away from my cheek and leans back into his chair, giving me a warm, loving smile.
Yoongi pays the bill and we walk outside hand in hand. As we're walking away, a few young girls run up to us screaming Yoongi's name.
Oh shit.
I quickly release my grip on his hand and pull mine away. But he reacts even quicker and grabs it again, looking at me as if to say "don't worry."
The girls are pretty much dying on the spot screaming his name over and over again. One of them spots our hands are linked and looks me up and down.
"Suga, is this your girlfriend?" She asks, pointing to our hands.
The other girls look to where she's pointed, then divert their gaze to me. I look at them in fear. I'm terrified. Are they going to hate me? Throw insults? Attack me?
"Yes." He responds.
One of the girls bursts into tears. She looks heartbroken. Another doesn't say anything, she just continues staring at me.
"Really?!" One yells. "Oh my gosh! That's so cute! I'm happy for you!!" She yells.
What?
"You're so pretty! I'm so jealous!" She says.
They give me praise and compliment me, before turning their attention back to Yoongi. He's smiling.
"Can we please get a picture? It'd make our LIFE!" One yells excitedly.
"Of course." He says.
They take their pictures and run off laughing and screaming of joy. Yoongi approaches me and takes my hand into his again.
"I told you. You have nothing to worry about. Our fans aren't as crazy as you think." He says as we continue to walk back.
Wow. They... like me? I instantly start to feel myself relax. Maybe coming out to the public isn't as scary as I thought. Maybe they'd welcome me and our relationship with open arms.
I let out a sigh of content. I have never felt more happy in my life.
Tonight has been perfect.
