A/N

Before you guys start reading this chapter, I would like to thank you all for reading my book ❤.

And, Liara has a special secret team that does all her shady tasks. They are called "The Angelwings". I'm just gonna give you a small introduction of the members, here in the author note, so that would be easy to understand what's exactly happening in this chapter.

It includes 5 members, they are:

1. Vikrant Tomar - India - Team Leader
2. Agnes Williams - London - Expert in Marketing, maintaining, keeping details of the investors of the company.
3. Shan Li - China - Financial Expert
4. Aaliyah Imani - Chicago - Strategist
5. Chloe Browns - Executor.

-A/N.

Two days later, after that night, I did not look back nor did I think about that person who's now become an agony for me. I know, I initiated that night but I was drunk whereas he should have avoided me. I had to wobble the whole day because of him. I groaned as creepy thoughts unintentionally clouded my vision. I squeezed my head to get rid of my own wild imagination.

However, it might sound weird as to why I still must be thinking about him but I couldn't help myself. My eyes were glued toward the 'The Shimmers Club' as it's adjacent to my private office balcony. The same place where I had met the jerk with hazel eyes. I wrapped my arms around my waist because of the brutal wintry night while the wind blew on my face harshly.

"I can't understand as to why Aria chose this location for the meeting," I said to myself. I had a meeting with my team tonight to discuss an about the foes, who appeared out of nowhere, in my life.

As I was looking down the street, I frowned at the heavily drunk heads as they seemed least bothered about their life, walking around recklessly while the car drivers were aggressively honking at them.

I could hardly recognize anybody from my position as I was standing on the topmost floor which also happens to be the 8th floor of the establishment. I had the sudden urge to wear my glasses, lying on the top of my head so I pushed them down on my nose. As soon as I did that, my eyes fell on the eager group of people, waiting to be let inside the club.

A gasp involuntarily escaped my lips when I noticed him. My misery. I squinted my eyes to look at him properly but disappointment washed over me as I failed miserably. To overcome this, I blinked a few times to focus on him better.

However, my concentration was broken when I heard a beep on the intercom placed near the bannister of the balcony. I instantly got the message that someone was trying to have access inside my chamber.

“Come in,” I announced, pressing the green button on the intercom. Grabbing my coffee mug that was lying on a small table, I walked toward the designated room.

I entered inside a glass cabin modelled for me completely according to my preferences and comforts. It is a huge room, occupying the entire floor with different sections held for different reasons. With its own lounge, a comfortable chamber filled with my favourite toys amongst other things, this floor is the most expensive one of all. Not only this but it also has a separate section for all the computer stuff installed with the latest technology, necessitated for my team to complete their work.

There's a small cabin at the end of the floor, holding my essential documents which are always locked with no spare keys. On the other hand, there's a huge conference hall with a built-in podium along with a board above it and the chairs assembled around a huge, wooden table.

I sighed, looking at the decor of my surroundings while walking toward my office at the other end of the hall which is adjacent to the control room. This building was SAMS International back then and this floor used to be my favourite when it was managed by my grandma.

I had to build a new building because I couldn't work and all my mind could conjure up is her and my mom walking around throughout this room. This building has now just become a guest house. I had to renovate it whole to meet my foreign delegates' needs.

Even today, I think back to her designing this chamber specifically for me when I was a child. I used to stay in the cabin where she'd stacked all my favourite toys and I have never brought myself to change it. It's still the same.

I found myself standing at the entrance of my office and spotted Aria. She was looking up at the ceiling before hearing the sounds of my footsteps approaching her. She swiftly turned around to face me, sporting a professional smile. “Ma'am, your guests, Mr Vikrant Tomar, Ms Agnes Williams, Mr Shan Li, Ms Aaliyah Imani and Ms Chloe Brown have arrived. They're ready to meet you. Shall I bring them here?” She asked.

I took my seat, facing Aria who was glancing at her iPad every few seconds. Sipping my black coffee, I noticed that it was 8 pm already. "Bring them in, Aria and then you can take your leave," I instructed her without further ado.

She nodded and quickly headed out without wasting a second. I had begun executing my research work.

Before I knew it, my Angelwings team was standing in front of me, consisting of five experts who've never disappointed me in any way. As I stared at them, I couldn't help but be pleased with their work in their respective fields. I felt like a proud mother looking at her phenomenal children.

“Take a seat, everyone,” I said, the excitement clearly evident in my voice.

The Angelwings has constantly supported me whenever I need them. They act like my spine who's always been by my side when no one thought that I could stop the downpour of the SAMS International. I was fortunate to meet them when I travel to their respective countries for work. They've never doubted my ability and I theirs.

"So," Vikrant, the head of the squad began. "What is this meeting about, madam?" He had a knowing look on his face.

I scowled at him. “I am not your "madam", Vikrant. How many times do I have to remind you that you're not my employee for God's sake?!" I exclaimed, frustratedly.

“Okay, okay. Calm down, woman. I just wanted to see that cute, flushed face of yours along with that scrunching nose, rosy lips, tende- ouch!" He shrieked when I threw a paperweight at him with so much force.

"Geez. Someone's feisty today, huh? I like it," he said almost instantly, bursting into fits of laughter. I glared at him but I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. I probably even resembled a tomato.

He surrendered, raising his arms with a teasing smile. Everyone laughed at his behaviour and it sort of lightened up my mood as well.

Smiling satisfactorily, I shoved a file toward them all that contained the data regarding my foe. I didn't even know that they'd existed until my birthday.

"I want you guys to have a look at everything inside the file with concentration. Try to find out the possible ways to solve my current problem," I stated solemnly. And this was how the meeting went on for hours. We talked about every single element that's required to be accomplished.

“Liara, we have already finished planning and stuff. We just need your approval to execute it,” I heard Chloe, the executor of the team, whisper while filling me a cup of coffee.

I was flipping through the pages of the report they had organized during the meeting when Chloe spoke from beside me. As I was standing on the balcony, I basked in the feeling of fresh air while the breeze was swishing against my hair. I felt calm and collected as I stood there. This place happens to be my favourite as it always relieves me from my stress.

"Liara…" Chloe began, concern etched on her features. "It's been more than seven hours since the meeting. I think you should take a break because it's already 3 in the morning. You look really exhausted." She sighed.

Thanking her, I sip my coffee and decide to take her words into consideration. As I was about to leave my place from the balcony, I saw him again. I could hear Chloe trying to get my attention but I just stood there, gazing at him until certain someone placed a hand on my shoulder.

I sighed and closed my eyes because I could instantly tell who he was just by his familiar and tender touch.

“What’s the matter, Liara? You seem so preoccupied and trust me on this that all of us have noticed this today. It's the first time you were so inattentive and honestly, we're surprised, to say the least."

He then came in front of me, looked me in the eye and whispered, " Five years, Liara. Five years and never have I ever or anybody else for that matter has seen you so distracted in an important meeting. What is… wrong?" Shan asked, his voice laced with worry.

I just stared at his face blankly and shook my head to avoid his suspicions. Not wanting to answer him, I headed back to my office where the others were waiting. I couldn't tell him that I was upset because I lost my virginity to a stranger, now could I? I chuckled darkly just thinking about how ridiculous it might sound aloud.

After what felt like hours, the Angelwings completed the task I had assigned them. To say that I was really very happy by seeing the outcome would be an understatement. Just like them, I hadn't caught a wink of sleep as I was constantly seeing them work on their train of thoughts. I was utterly amazed by how quick they were.

Not only this but they also shocked me by providing strong evidence against Carter D’Luka and I was more than glad to show him what would happen if someone like him messes with me.

*****

As I had to get back to the office as soon as possible because of some urgent work popping up, I told them to take some rest.

"Guys, I'm so sorry that I can't join y'all for breakfast. Actually, I'm in a rush because something has come up in SAMS. Meet you today at 6 in the evening?" I asked guiltily for I'd given them a hard time and couldn't even join them for breakfast.

"Of course, your Highness! We will be waiting for you," Vikrant said, bowing dramatically while Shan Li followed suit. I shook my head at their pranks, hiding my smile.

Agnes, Aliyah and Chloe hugged me as I was leaving my chamber.

"You be good, little miss. Take a beauty nap and sleep tight because you've been awake the whole night!" Aliyah said sternly. She's the oldest of us all and is like a motherly figure. I looked at her oval face, pale skin and brown eyes with a small smile as her face exuded the love and concern for me. I just melted in her arms, an unintentional sob escaping my lips. Breaking the hug, I nodded at them and left the building. I quickly drove my Lykan to reach SAMS International.

The moment I reached my destination, I parked my car in the lot. In the process of doing so, I heard a commotion from the reception area adjacent to the entrance. Furrowing my eyebrows, I pinched the bridge of my nose to ease the pulsating headache and took a quick glance at my wristwatch. "It's thirty past ten already?" I grumbled in annoyance because of the constant hammering inside my head. Instead of taking the reception route and making my presence known, I walked straight to the private elevator inside the parking lot.

I nodded at the security guard who stood up abruptly. He tipped his head low to click the button of my office floor after I entered the elevator. I don't know what happened but I felt nauseous for some reason. Trying to get the hold of myself, I placed my hands on the steel walls to support my body. I even inhaled and exhaled to feel better but as soon as the elevator dinged open, I rushed toward the washroom and threw up instantly.

I could feel the blood boiling in my body, making me even more uncomfortable. I held the sink tightly for support because my legs felt like jelly. Resting my head against a nearby wall, I regained my breathing to make sure I was in control of my body.

I splashed cold water on my face to ease my nerves. When I was sure that I wasn't going to fall, I strode toward my cabin. I nodded at a few of my subordinates, greeting me on my way.

"Ma'am, you don't look so good, are you alright?" I heard Aria speak worriedly the moment I entered my cabin.

"I'm good," I told her but even I could feel my voice betraying me.

"I'll go and get you something to eat," she said and vanished in an instant, not even giving me a chance to reply.

I walked toward the balcony, situated on the right side of my office to get some fresh air. But instead, I felt the very same thing knocked out of my system when my gaze fell on a certain someone, yet again.
