Twenty One

Y'all are going to hate Scott again and possibly Kirstie.

And me because...

WARNING: death, drug mention

Scott was crying.

His grandma refused to help him.

All because Mitch wasn't really his brother.

Scott stomped into the house, slamming the door behind him. Kevin and Avi were sitting by Mitch, widening their eyes as Scott grabbed Mitch by his shirt, shaking him like crazy.

"IT'S YOUR FAULT! IF YOU WERE NEVER BORN, EVERYTHING WOULD BE OKAY! MOM AND DAD WOULD STILL BE ALIVE! I HATE YOU! YOU RUIN EVERYTHING!"

Mitch was confused, not understanding why Scott was yelling at him. He was crying, Scott's tough hands gripping his thin shirt roughly.

"Scott, let me go. Ple-ple-"

"SHUT UP! GRANDMA ISN'T HELPING US ANYMORE BECAUSE OF YOU'!"

"SCOTT!"

Scott didn't listen. He pushed Mitch, the small boy hitting the wall on the side of his head.

Where the cochlear implant was.

When Scott realized what he had done, he widened his eyes. Mitch was putting his hand on the device, hoping he could hear something.

All he could hear was static.

"Mitch, I-"

"Get away from me."

Mitch pushed Scott roughly, stomping upstairs as he began to cry himself. Scott looked back at Kevin and Avi, disapproval on their faces. Scott tried to explain himself, but nothing came out.

"Why did you do that?" Kevin asked angrily, Avi walking upstairs do check on Mitch. Scott couldn't answer, his emotions a mess right now. "Why were you yelling at him?"

"He...he-"

"Scott! Answer me now!"

Scott jumped, more tears rolling down his cheeks as he sobbed a bit. Kevin was stern, crossing his arms as he waited for a response. Scott calmed down a bit, finally answering Kevin's question.

"Mitch isn't my full brother. Our mom had an affair with someone. Our grandma is helping isn't helping us because of him."

"Stop right there, Scott. Don't you dare put all this on your brother. In the end, it is your mother's fault for not staying faithful to your father. Mitch is a blessing, not a mistake. Yes, he is a product of an affair, but he is much more than that. He is the greatest little brother ever for you and he is a blessing in your life. You blaming him only makes the situation worse.

"You should be ashamed of yourself, Scott. You don't know how hard it is for Mitch right now. He just lost a boyfriend, he just had a life changing surgery, and he is being blamed for your grandma not getting money. I'm disappointed in you, Scott."

Scott blinked a bit, more tears rolling down his cheeks as he thought about actions. He stood up, wanting to talk to Mitch when Avi came running back down, his green eyes full of tears.

"Mitch ran away and I looked out the window and the car is not there."

"He's not allowed to drive," Kevin exclaimed, standing up quickly. Scott ran out quickly, unable to stay here much longer. "Scott!"

Mitch, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry.

Kirstie was crying for another reason.

Ariana passed away on the way to the hospital.

Frankie was in Ariana's room while Kirstie sat in the waiting room and stared at nothing. There were tears in her eyes that refused to fall, making her more depressed and longing for the girl she wanted.

The girl she could never love.

"Kirstie? Is that you?"

Kirstie looked up, Melanie looking over at her worriedly. Kirstie stood up, walking over to her brother's old boss as her legs shook. Melanie walked over to her, her eyes sad and full of worry for the young girl.

The girl she had a crush on since Scott started working at her old restaurant.

(A/N: KHG...😉)

"What's wrong?"

Kirstie was about to answer when a sob interrupted her, covering her mouth as she began to cry. She fell on her knees, Melanie following her as she hugged her tightly.

"Kirstie, what's th-"

"My cru-cru-crush died! I ha-ha-have no one to love!"

Kirstie sobbed loudly, Melanie holding her even tighter.

I'll love you, Kirstie. You deserve someone to love you.

"Mel?"

"Yes, ang-Kirstie?"

"I was planning to smoke after I left the hospital, but I don't want to get in trouble. Could you take me home?"

"Of course."

Melanie helped Kirstie up, holding her hand and almost smiling at the fireworks that erupted. Kirstie felt a weird tingle in her fingers, trying to ignore it as Melanie walked her to her car.

"Kirstie, sweetheart? Do you have the, um, stuff with you?"

Kirstie nodded, taking a small plastic bag out her bag. Melanie cringed at the green drug, throwing it far away so Kirstie would not be tempted to take it. Kirstie went into the car, closing her door and eyes as Melanie started the car. All was quiet until...

"Kirstie."

"Melanie."

They giggled, Kirstie opening her eyes to look at the beautiful girl. She would be lying if she said that Melanie's gap between her teeth isn't her favorite appearance of Melanie.

What the heck did I just think about Melanie??!

"You start," Kirstie replied, smiling shyly at Melanie. Melanie blushed, nodding her head before driving.

"There's this girl..."

"Is she sexy?"

"More than sexy. She's more than gorgeous actually. She's an ethereal angel. She is Beyoncé's twin even she is the real queen, even though Mitch is the realest queen."

Kirstie giggled once more, looking down at her lap as Melanie looked over at her. She took a deep breath, hoping for the best.

"That girl is yo-"

Melanie was interrupted by a pair of lips on her own, smiling when she noticed that it was Kirstie kissing her. Melanie pulled over, letting the younger girl kiss her with all she could.

"Kirstie?"

"Yes, Melanie?"

Here goes.

"Do you want me to be your girlfriend?"

Kirstie nodded, kissing Melanie once more before nodding her head.

"Yes, yes I do. I'll be happy again if in yours."

~~~
Mitch was crying and he felt like he didn't deserve to.
He was the reason why his parents died.
He was the reason why Travis left.
He was the reason why Kirstie became rebellious.
He was the reason Scott cries every night.
He was the reason why his 'grandma' isn't helping them.
And now he is the reason why he might not hear anymore.
If he wasn't born, Scott wouldn't have pushed him into the wall.
It's his fault that all of this is happening.
He drove over to the hospital, sighing to himself before pulling over. He got out of the car, watching Kirstie walk out with Melanie. He raised an eyebrow, watching Melanie throw something while Kirstie watched. They got into the car and after they drove off, Mitch ran over to see what was thrown. Once he got there, he widened his eyes as he picked it up.
Kirstie still smokes weed?!
Mitch looked around, stuffing the small plastic bag into his pocket and walked into the hospital. A nurse smiled at him, noticing his implant and speaking loudly.
"How may I help you?"
"I want to have a D.N.A test."
"Oh, okay. Um, are your parents here?"
Mitch shook his head, sighing in disappointment. He was about to leave when a short muscly man with a mustache walked in, his smile wide.
"How are you, Janise?"
"Good. Thank you, Mike! How abo-"
"Excuse me, son?"
Mitch looked back, surprised that he heard the man. Mike looked him up and down, widening his eyes a bit as he looked at the sixteen year old,
"Do you know Connie Hoying?"
Mitch nodded, wondering how the man knew him. He almost screamed when Mike hugged him tightly, feeling tears soak his shirt a bit.
"I found you, my son."
Mitch widened his eyes a bit, seeing the resemblance more. Maybe that's were he received his brown eyes from.
From Mike.
"Are you deaf?" Mike asked, wiping his eyes as he looked at the implant. Mitch nodded, becoming insecure of it. "That's okay, son. How is Connie?"
"She's de-de-dead."
Mike widened his eyes a bit, wondering how that happened. He was about to ask when a police man came in, practically manhandling Mitch. Mitch screamed, being thrown to the ground while the police officer arrested him.
"You are arrested for the possession of weed. Anything you say will be held against you in court."
"Wait," Mike exclaimed, being pushed a bit. People watched as Mitch was pulled up, looking around with a confused look on his face. "What weed?!"
The police officer reached into Mitch's pocket, touching his butt on purpose and taking the weed out to put it in his own pocket. Mitch was confused as Mike said something, wondering why he couldn't hear the loud man.
"I don't understa-"
"Shut up!"
Mitch was dragged away, not hearing anything around him when he realized...
His implant broke and he couldn't hear anymore.
A/N: Well...this is tragic. This story will end...I don't know when, but it will end. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
