were Kai's words as he put Elena under the spell as he turned to her.

Elena now realized she was closed in the coffin.

"Help me..."- she now shouted- "Eliiijah!!" trying to knock the lid of the coffin.

Outside in the crypt, Hope had arrived at the sun started to rise. Stefan and Rebekah together with Hope waited for the moment the sun is fully risen on this very important solstice day. The moment they hear Elena's voice shout, there was jubilation running through the vampire's hearts standing next to the coffin.

"Just one moment."- Hope then said taking Stefan's blood and Bonnie's smearing it on the coffin whispering the words of Bonnie's spell for opening the coffin.

Rebekah looked at Stefan with teary eyes-

"You old romantic!"- Stefan now told the Original.

"Oh, shut up!"- she spat back.

As Hope was about to open the coffin, Elijah swooped in the crypt, now standing next to the coffin.

Hope now nodded for him as the spell broke to open it as he did.

"Elijah!"- Elena muttered reaching for him. Still fatigued from being in the stasis, he now helped her get out of the coffin.

"It worked"- Rebekah slipped watching Elena in Elijah's arms.

"Hey- "- Elena then saw Stefan, Rebekah and Hope.

Stefan replied in the same manner looking at her warmly happy that she was awake.

"Fell's Church is the safest place. We should go there straight away."- Elijah then suggested and swished away with Elena to the magical shelter. Rebekah and Hope followed. Stefan remained at the crypt sending a message to Jeremy and co that Elena was awake and well and that the spell was broken.

The message was met with great jubilation. Jeremy immediately called Elijah.

Damon received it as he walked into Sheila Bennett's house. It meant that they will soon be able to locate Bonnie.

He now went to her room. It was the place he felt closest to her in all the years she was taken that faithful night. He took the photo of him and Bonnie out of the jacket pocket.

Flashback

Damon vamped out killing the vampires that came through to get him from the side of the Mystic Falls High and as he fought off the compelled bunch another surge of six of them jumped on him. Bonnie hurried over to him and swiped them off with her magic. He was on the floor and felt a stake wedged half an inch from his heart.

"Be still!"- Bonnie said as she knelt above him and now took the stake in her hands. She knew she would have to be very steady pulling it out. She could see that he was in excruciating pain and his blue eyes now red from pain looked at her with heartfelt seriousness-

"Don't speak!"- she said once again- "Your heart is in my hands now!!"

Damon now put the photo back in his jacket pocket. His phone rang and it was Stefan.

"Where are you?"-

"Bennett house."- Damon replied- "so... she is awake?! How is she?"

"Fine."- Stefan said simply.

"Where are you?"

"The crypt."-Stefan answered.

" I am coming to get you."- Damon said and went straight to the SUV.

In Fell's Church, Hope brought Elena water to drink and something to eat. But first she had to finish her conversations with Jeremy and then Caroline.
As she finished talking to them, she had her food.

"I can't believe you had it rebuilt." -Elena said referring to the building that resembled more a small temple.

"Elijah wanted to be close to you and since this is sacred ground we could make a safe place using the magic  that the Gemini witches cannot siphon."- Hope explained.

Elena looked at the young witch somewhat curiously. The resemblance to Klaus was extraordinary and Elena couldn't take her eyes off of her. There was so much she had to catch upon. The world seemed to be a very dark place, that was very clear to her. And she couldn't wait to see everyone and hear all that had happened to them all the years she was in a magical slumber.

"Elena-"- Elijah came in the room.

"Hey"- she said and Hope left the room giving them some privacy.

He came close to where she was sitting and now sat down on the sofa opposite from her.

"So, the next thing is to locate Bonnie?!"-Elena  said taking a sip of water.

"Yes. It should be pretty straight forward now."-Elijah  remarked.

"Good."-Elena uttered looking at him-"there is so much to catch up on."

"But first, you need to rest."

"I think I have been resting enough."

"Of course."-Elijah smiled a little-"Still-"

"We have to talk...about what happened... about you breaking the spell."-Elena then said.

"It wasn't me solely."-Elijah then added.

"No, it wasn't."- Elena said poignantly looking him. He looked back at her saying does it need to be addressed in words what we had felt and what our hearts have spoken.

Elena then uttered-"My true feelings...they were always there."

"We don't have talk about it right now."- Elijah said.

"I want to know one thing-" Elena then said.

"Yes?"- Elijah waited for the question he had anyway already anticipated.

"Why...?"-

Elijah took a moment and then looked down and then at her. She wanted to know why he had not declared how he really felt the night before the Ball.

Flashback

Elijah drove Elena back to her house.

"Thank you for driving me home."- she got out of the SUV.

Elijah handed over the keys to her.

"I apologize for Rebekah once more."- Elijah said.

They walked over to the porch of the Gilbert House. Elena now stood turned to him as she stepped on the porch. He looked at her as if she was the brightest star that fell on the Earth illuminating the place. Elena's heart jumped with a thrill that she had never experienced before. Everything seemed to have stopped for one split second. Then Elijah said-

"Good night." and walked away as Elena stood watching him disappear in the distance.

Elijah now answered-

"Sometimes we make inexplicable decisions."- Elijah said.

"Yeah..."-Elena muttered and her thoughts swayed to everything that came to pass.

He got up then.

"Where are you going?"-Elena asked as she felt they were just beginning to tackle what brought them to this moment.

"We will talk later. The Salvatores have just arrived. I believe you have much to discuss with them."

Elena now nodded.

Elijah smiled a little at her and walked out. At the door he greeted Damon cordially. There was no love lost between them. Stefan opted for Damon to speak first with Elena. He joined  Rebekah for the moment. Damon then walked in the room where Elena was.

Some years ago

Elijah was sitting in front of the Salvatore crypt as Damon came up to him.

"You continue keeping vigil."- Damon remarked.

"Yes."-Elijah answered shortly.

"Here-"-Damon passed a bottle to Elijah-"Bonnie said to give you her blood."

"Thank you. We will try our best to resolve this and wake Elena up."-Elijah put the bottle safe in his jacket.
Damon stood there for a moment pensively. He was not the one accustomed to show his true feelings especially not in front of an Original. But much had changed.Suddenly he had the urge to get something off his chest.

"I was obsessed with her."- Damon started-" I didn't think or look at anything. I just wanted to have her. I hurt my brother. And convinced myself that I wanted to be human when I knew that deep in my heart I loved being a vampire...did you know that she had erased all her memories of me?!"

"Yes, Damon."-Elijah said.

Damon now turned to the Original vampire -"It was never real."

"It takes great courage to recognize the true-self and admit what really lies in one's heart and then follow it."-Elijah then said seriously.

"Why did you let Elena go then?"-Damon then said-"She had more then just feelings for you?!"

"A slumber did my spirit seal."-Elijah answered.
