I looked on at Pig from quite some time guessing about his further actions. The other day when Matias came to visit Agustin and give his fake blessings, Pig attempted to create a thread of pity between Matias and Tia for whatever reason he has.

Why he did that when he knew Tia might be in danger? I don't know but something tells me he has a plan weaved in his mind.

"You should sit down calmly first or you will give me a headache." I chided seeing him pace around like his feet are on fire.

Agustin is safely playing with Aerial and Javier while I and Pig are coped in my bedroom giving our full focus on television.

Two days ago when the report about Maya getting better got to us, Pig pressured the attending doctor to do anything he can to wake her up. Although her vitals are getting better, unless she wakes up, we cannot find out the complete story.

While this morning we were informed that there is a moment of consciousness and went back to sleep again. So Pig sent Tia over there while we are watching them through cameras. Tia is silently sitting beside the sleeping Maya after Maya went through some vocal exercises this noon that exhausted her completely

With Matias and his cahoots actively keeping eyes on us, we cannot go and visit Maya which is alright since Tia is the only one who can talk out with her.

I really hope we get to know something from Maya.

"It is pretty reasonable that her vocal cords went lazy after sleeping for nearly three decades. You should calm your sh*t down and give that poor woman sometime to recover well." I scolded him for expecting Maya to recover in a snap.

"Val, the more time passes, the more Matias get desperate which will put Agustin in grave danger. He may think about consequences in touching the boy now but before he realizes all the doors to his escape are sealed, he will use his everything to survive. That is why Tia and Maya are very important right now."

"Agreed. Still, keep your cool and never let this drop your mask. She was just awake this morning. Didn't you see how confused, later terrified and struggled after she woke up for the second time. It is already good that she has calmed down with Tia beside her and taking necessary measures to talk it out with Tia. Right now the important thing that we should do is think of a way to come clear about Matias to Tia."

I said pulling him to the settee beside him and handed him a glass of chilled water. The second time Maya woke up, it took her some time to get adjusted with the light and noise around her. It took good enough time to recognize Tia and then once she remembered Tia, the memories of the past soon followed.

If only she could talk or more her body to tell Tia but it is suggested that Maya needs to go through physiotherapy to get out of her paralyzed state of body.

While Physiotherapy takes a long time, working on her vocal therapy takes lesser time and suggested to be more effective.

Pig heaved heavily and pulled out his phone from his pocket and called the doctor in charge of Maya. In the midst of all the seriousness, his small keypad burner phone amused me.

It seems he is using the burner phone to keep his calls from getting tracked.

"Hmm, what seems to be the problem?" He asked after the doctor spoke something from the other side. Pig pulled the phone away from his ear and kept the call on speaker.

"Ms. Regio's memories are still not complete, Majesty. She is delirious not to mention her mind and body are not ready to have sturdy days yet." The doctor spoke igniting a question from me.

"She has been getting treated from past several years then why did she not show any signs of consciousness while in your treatment she woke up in just a few days?" This question has been running through my mind from the past couple of days.

Pig suddenly got interested at what I asked as his eyes slightly widened waiting for the doctor to answer. The doctor was quite for a couple of minutes and cleared his throat where his hesitation was precisely displayed.

"There is something, isn't it." I probed him to answer.

"She –" He started "She was never in comatose state to begin with."

There goes the biggest twist of all times. What the bloody hell does he mean she was not in coma?

If she was not then was she pretending to be in?

Pig mirrored my surprise and utter shock before we both shouted 'what' in unison.

"I knew not of the reason, Majesties; but she was asleep all these decades due to regular dosage of drowsy medicines. She willed herself to stay in a coma for whatever reason."

Now this is what you call a Bingo moment.

Turns out Maya Regio gambled with her own life to stay alive. Astounding!

"You mean to say she was given medicines that induces sleep intentionally?" Pig asked the question that I was going to.

"Not really. When a person is in a comatose state there are some combinations of medicines that are meant to wake her up but also induce drowsiness as well. But what I'm certain is Maya Regio has been awake all these years only sleeping when she was under the influence of medicines. That is one of the reasons why it is easy to exercise her vocal cords back to use."

A string of royal profanities flowed out from Pig's mouth after hearing what the doctor said. Maya indeed is an amazing woman to pretend to be in coma for almost three decades.

Was she waiting for this day? To get away from the watchful eyes of Matias?

"She played to be asleep for thirty years? This is heights of patience." She is an embodiment of the phrase 'waiting for the right time'.

Pig nodded his head still in a shock. The doctor gave the updated health report and proceeded to treat Maya after cutting call all the while leaving me and pig in a deep pit of surprise.

"Well, well, well, this is interesting." Pig breathed out a chuckle after he slowly got out of his shock.

Indeed it is interesting.

Maya Regio preferred to get paralyzed without moving an inch of her body to stay alive and wait for her day than fight against Regios' and Matias.

"Why do you think she did that?" I asked once the scowl on pig's face turned into an amused smile.

"Like we guessed, Maya knows something that we don't, that can destroy Matias so she chose to practice patience than to act on impulse."

That makes sense seeing how her years of sacrifice and patience bore fruits finally.

Learning about the truth behind Maya's health, Pig was reassured and gave the doctor a week time to work on her.

In the meantime, he continued wrapping Tia in a blanket of pity in Matias eyes. I wondered why Demetri is in such long state of coma to which Pig once said that he bribed the doctors to keep him such for a few days until he is done with his mission.

Being a King has its perks!

With every door closed for Matias, Pig is created an open for him to escape through Tia but seemingly that is his ultimate weapon to stab Matias.

It is after ten days from the day Maya woke up, Matias asked Tia to go out with him telling her he has something important to tell her. The past few days, he has worked hard to lessen Tia's anger towards him which worked according to Pig's strategy.

Although Tia still acted uncaring towards him, her behavior towards him did change over the past few days.

When asked Pig about this sudden softening of heart towards the villain, he just told me to not interfere in anything and enjoy it like an audience.

This time, when he asked to stay out of it so bluntly, I did not take it as offence since I know it is our son he is thinking about and his safety is our priority.

"Where is he taking her?" I asked.

Pig only but smiled and shrugged as he again showed his hand towards the television screen in which the live streaming of an unknown place is being recorded.

It is a dim place, well furnished but looks more like a warehouse. There are several tables and chairs in the room and the lights are dim.

But what caught my attention was a set of familiar personalities present in the room with their intimidating permanent scowl on their faces.

"What the hell are the Dukes doing there?" I asked and Pig just shrugged and answered casually like it is nothing serious.

"Matias managed to get the Dukes on his side."

He what?

When did that happen? I thought the Dukes family respects Arse a lot?

Then what the bullsh*t Matias said to get their support even after causing their daughter such pain?
