Chapter 17
I pull out the contract from the drawer, placing it in front of my wife.
I never imagined of legalizing my marriage and bounding it under a contract. But women are a viscious being who can easily fall into the arms of your enemy. And I can't afford that. Contract in this marriage is a necessity.
Grabbing a pen, I place it in front of her.
"This contract states the boundaries and expectations in this marriage." I tell her.
"Physical intimacy depends on your choice and my needs. Emotional closeness is forbidden." I point out the first condition.
She gives me a cynical look.
She opens her mouth for protest, but a warning look from me makes her silent. " It was you who wasn't ready for an open relation. And infidelity according to this contract can lead to some serious outcomes." I smirk.
" You are not allowed to disclose your relationship with me in your workplace. They should be informed you are married but your husbands identity should be hidden." I further flip the pages.
" There will be no divorce, until both of us agree for it. And only when the 5 years of our marriage completes."
" Divorce will happen only in the extreme conditions, like infidelity or domestic violence. "
Ishika's silent, looking at the paper in contempt,"However," She involuntarily tense at my words. "If by any chance a baby gets involved in this situation, this time period will get null and void. Binding us until the baby turns 18 no matter the conditions." I state, unsure about this whole complicatedness. It's a terrible idea to put this sensitive relation on stake, but I'm beyond the point of no return.
"You'll be under my vigilance 24×7. Since here after signing this contract."
Her eyes flicker from mine to the papers, processing the situation. She nods, her body stiff, fists balling up at her side before she takes a deep breath. Defiance, that's what her body is projecting.
"I don't agree with the first and the last clause." She replies with a contemplative look.
My eyes narrow, into slits,"It looks like you are misunderstanding this whole thing. The contract it non negotiable. You accept what I offer, your opinions on this table are not appreciated."
She opens her mouth to protest but I tap the pen on the table signalling her to sign. "It's no secret that I am not attracted to you. So how does that matter what clause one states. It's only there on the contract to prevent us from committing forbidden acts."
It's the truth. This clause is only there for extremely uncontrollable conditions.
Ishika bite down her lips as she register my words. She nips on her fingers, her eyes clashing mine, anticipation clamping up her irises. Her eyes seems as if questioning my existence.
She averts her gaze from mine, "I have said that before and I'll repeat that again. I'll always be loyal and faithful to you. And I expect the same in return like you state it in the papers."
"And about clause 4, my privacy is my utmost priority, I want that under my charge and out of your focus. And that's non negotiable from my side. "
"Are you trying to challenge my words?" I say, my voice low, dangerous.
She lowers her eyes," I suppose so. "
I raise my brows, "Fine."
"Only because you were polite Tinkerbell."
A relief washes her face, and exhales slowly.
"Sign."
She picks the pen with trembling hands, flipping the pages once again.
I smile when she signs the document.
Now the ball is in my court.
I sign the contract after her, tying myself with the women who's my wife.
This feels more real now. The contract. The signatures. This marriage.
We're tied untill death do us apart.
"Congratulations Tinkerbell. Now you are legally Mrs. Ishika Singh Rajvansh." She looks into my eyes, her expression unreadable.
"I don't know what you want from me, but I am making it very clear to you. I'll live my life the way I have been living before all this." Saying that she storms out of the room.
I rise to my feet, fisting my hand in frustration. This is the last time I am letting go that bratty attitude of hers'. The next time she does, it won't be easy for her to leave the room.
Picking the phone I dial my lawyers number.
"The papers are signed. They'll reach you soon. I want you along with the documents in my office at sharp 2 pm."
Next I call Arjun to inform him about the emergency board meeting and it's agenda, "I'll be reaching there in an hour."
"Are you sure about all this?" Arjun says.
"Yes."
Am I really going to do this?
You won't see many options here. That's what you have always wanted right. The sole power in your hands. The inner voice reasons me out.
"See you in the office," with that I cut the call.

It's been a month since the executive chairman of the board Indrajeet Rathore stepped down from the position.
This was the only thing for which I put myself at stake. It's about fucking time for me to claim my position.
I see the board members looking at me in anticipation, my mom sitting in front of me pinning me down from her glare.
I lean back in my seat maintaining my cold stare, I push the certificate in front of Indrajeet Rathore.
"The only criteria which was stopping me as a Candidate to acquire your position is fulfilled."
I say carefully. The man has more power than me in this situation.
"When did you get married?" He frowns in surprise. He looks at me in question.
"11th October."
"It was a private affair. No one was informed about it other than close family members." My mother interjects.
I see the members nod in understanding, half of them are already talked with by Arjun.
Others will abide with the flow.
It was fucking easy after this arrangement. Thanks to my mother for unknowingly opening this door for me.
"That settles then. We'll be holding a meeting for the voting session soon. After which Abhiraj Singh Rajvansh can take over the postion. Anyone disapproves?" Inderjeet Rathore says.
Murmurs flow across the Conference hall as everyone discuss among themselves. All the while I study the faces of the people. My father worked very hard to build the cordial relations with these men and now it's the time they show their loyalty to him.
"None." Rahul Malhotra says.
I smile pleased as everyone nods in agreement.
I rise to my feet, " Thankyou Gentleman."
Door slams shut behind me. The last time I attended the meeting, it was not the same. Everyone was against me. According to these old prudes an unmarried man is too immature for the position, but now the tables have turned. I smirk.
Executive Chairman. Tick.
"Abhiraj..." Rahul follows me behind to the office.
I settle myself on the seat, glancing at him while opening the file kept on my desk.
"Congratulations."
I give him a blank stare, " Don't act as if you didn't know. She is your wife's sister. "
"That's the only reason I had no say." My brows raise in question.
" Her sister. She is very different from the rest of the family. She is nothing like Divya or her cousin Riya. Definitely not someone you would choose. I knew that, but she is my wife's sister. Not only me but we both kept ourselves out of these decisions."
" I don't need an excuse for you hidding things. "
"I am reasoning my behaviour Abhi."
"Reasons are the last thing I need to hear from you. Imagine my shock meeting you and Divya as my wife's sister and brother in law. "
" But... "
" That completely outshines your fucking reasons."
He lets out a growl as he throws his hand in the air, " I don't know why the hell did I think this to be a good idea."
"Realised pretty late."
"Shut up and waste your time being the stuck up ass you are. Idiot."
My molars grind together, "Get OuT."
"I AM."
"Then Fucking Leave Asshole."
He glares at me in anger before slamming the door harshly behind him.
Idiot.
I press the intercom close to my ears, "If anyone comes to meet me, inform them I am not present in the office. Don't disturb me after this."
I inhale a deep breath. I'm done for today.
My phone vibrates in my hand. Zahir sent me a message.
Zahir: Done😏
Me: Okey.
Zahir: Just okey 😞
I frown as I type out my next message. I hate his stupid emoticons.
Me: Okey 👍
Zahir: Are you dumb or you
pretend to be one.
Me: Okey 👍😘😘
Zahir: Asshole🍑
Me: Fucker 🍌🍌
Zahir: I'll quit this job.
Me: Shetty or Daksh. Who will be
better for your post? 🤔
*You Are Blocked*
I release a heavy laugh.
Me: I am joking.
Zahir: 🥺
Me: Stop sending those stupid
emojis.
Zahir: That's me.
I grin. This guy will never change.
Me: Send me the details of other
transactions as well.
Zahir: ✌️✌️
Me: 😒
*Seen*
I curse up the ceiling, wondering how the hell did I end up working with him.
And worse, he's annoying as hell.
To be continued...
How's the chapter guys?
Sooo... The clauses of the contract, Ishika agreed to them pretty easily, right?
Abhiraj is too twisted.
I'll update the next chapter soon. Till then take care of yourself.
