Dominic's POV

I watched Serenity sleeping peacefully on my chest. Her hair was all over the bed, for sure leaving some shed strains behind. The numb feeling in my arm from holding her wouldn't go away since she was.

Even though I was dying, I enjoyed being close to her. I stared at her as she drooled on my arm. Her mouth was slightly parted as her snores filled her room. My stink stink looks so cute.

I looked behind her and saw it was eight in the morning. She has a class in an hour so she has to get up.

When I like someone I memorize their whole schedule. I even know she takes an hour nap between every class. It's only a thirty-minute nap on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

I kissed her forehead as I stroked her back. I thought I was going to wake her up but, she just buried her face in my neck. My hands couldn't help but travel down to her butt.

She does this thing where she throws her leg over mine and wrap her hands around my neck. It's driving me crazy. I could feel her lips against me since she decided to sleep in her underwear.

Before I could get a chance to wake her up her phone started ringing. I took a peek at her phone to make sure I didn't have to curse anyone out. When I saw it on was her mom I calmed down.

I tried waking her up but, she wouldn't budge. I even squeezed her boobs and she still didn't wake up. Maybe I did that out of my enjoyment but still.

"Good morning Ms. Dixon"

"Hey Dominic, this is a nice surprise, is Serenity around?"

"She's right here actually. She's drooling on my arm, making a mess as usual"

Her mom laughed. She knows how her daughter can get. I could hear her dad in the background telling her to say hi to Serenity for him.Thankful she didn't say my name again.

We talked about general topics until I heard him say goodbye to her. She let out a sigh before she called on FaceTime. Her hair was in a messy bun as she repeatedly ran her fingers through it.

"What's wrong?"

"How do I do a sneaky link? Do I have to wear all black or something? Am I suppose to wear neon colors so they can know it's me?"

She had her pen and paper ready to take notes. She looked dead serious too. The look of determination on her face was undeniable.

"A sneaky link? I'm not helping you get into an entanglement. Your husband will kill me if he knew Serenity was at my place right now so imagine what he'll do to me girl helping his wife have an affair."

I will not have that kind of guilt on my shoulders. I looked down at Serenity who had a smile on her face as she snuggled deeper into my neck.

"I'm not trying to have an affair I promise. Timothy and I are trying to keep our marriage fresh so we're trying to do what you young kids are doing"

Serenity is lucky she's asleep. I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to hear her parent's plan. They're not even my parents and I'm disgusted.

"You don't wear all black, you just wear whatever makes you comfortable rather it's loungewear or casual clothing."

"Is wearing nothing an option?"

I visibly cringed. I don't want to picture that at all. I just told her yes so we can move to another topic. Serenity is going to kill me when she finds out I'm giving her mom advice like this.

After our talk, I had to cleanse my mind. Was I comfortable? No. But was it funny watching her take down notes? Still no but, it's going to be worth it when she tells Serenity the details and she dies of embarrassment.

"So we're setting up sneaky links now?"

Serenity said now looking up at me. I was so scared I sent her phone flying across the room. She tried to stay calm but I could see the anger in them.

She sat on my stomach as she waited for my answer. I was so distracted by her that I didn't even notice that her hands were now close to my neck. One wrong move and I'll be gasping for air.

"That was your mom actually, she wanted to know how to set up a sneaky link for her and your dad?"

"So she called you? I'm not buying it?"

"She called your phone but you were sleeping. Your phone is in the corner since you scared the hell out of me"

"I mean the last guy I dated was setting up a sneaky link right in front of me then played it off once I caught on so I'm not surprised"

I waited for her to continue but she never did. She just sat there in deep thought, spacing out for a couple of minutes. Her hands were still close to my neck so I didn't let my guard down.

"I'm disgusted by the things I used to let slide. I didn't realize how much of an asshole my ex was until I said it out loud. Never again will I let that happen to me"

She said as she got off me. My body felt cold and void of her touch. She picked up her clothes that laid on the couch and started getting dressed.

"Bye Dom, I'll see you later"

"Alright"

That was the last time I saw her this week.

Serenity's POV

I'm becoming too attached to him. I promised myself that I wouldn't jump into anything before I knew for sure I'm completely healed from my last relationship. The thought of me being with someone romantically still scares me.

This version of me wasn't built overnight. It came from constant mental abuse, pain, depression, and insecurities.

I've learned to build a wall around my heart once someone gets too close. Letting people in can lead to disappointment that I knew was coming but I chose to give them the benefit of a doubt.

I still have some growing to do and that's fine. I'm not afraid to admit it.

I've been cooped up at my place all week. It's been a while since I've gone outside my room or even to class. I picked up all my work after I left Dominic's house just I wouldn't leave my house later.

La-Shawna has visited me now and then but that's about it. Dominic must've gotten the hint because he hasn't tried to contact me. Maybe he thinks I blocked him.

This generation is so boring. If you think I blocked you, you better email me or send me a message on Pinterest.

I've decided to tell Dominic what's happening. I feel horrible for playing with his emotions so I know he feels worst. It's not fair to him that I keep cutting him off out of without an explanation.

It's now Friday and I'm ready to go back to class. I've done all the work that needed to be done so I have no choice but to go back.

I wish I was in quarantine or something so I wouldn't have to leave my room.

Today I wore my leather pants with my dark brown crop top, a brown and blue varsity letterman jacket, brown and black Jordan low dunks, a beanie, and my jewelry.

The beanie came in clutch since my lace was lifting and I didn't feel like gluing it back down.

I entered the school with a mission. As I looked around, I saw La-Shawna standing by a wall. She saw me coming and her eyes widened.

She placed a forced smile on her face. I walked up to her with that in mind. As I reached in for a hug she turned us around so my back was facing the classrooms.

"Hey girl, you came in today?" She said with regret in her voice.

She's acting weird. I wanted to talk to her but, her eyes kept wandering behind me. It was almost as if she was rushing me so we can head to class. I was going to turn around when she stopped me.

"Wait no! Let's just skip school today. We can hang out at the mall if you want"

"Ok"

I said causing her to breathe out in relief. She grabbed my hand and started dragging me out the door. As she started to walk out I turned to what she trying to hide from me.

There stood Dominic with his arms around a random girl's waist. She kissed his cheek as she leaned onto him. He whispered something in her ear causing her to laugh.

I felt my heart shatter as I watched them. Before I could control it a tear slipped out my eyes. I know I have no reason to be sad since I pushed him away but, I still do.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm good, let's get to class though"

I'm used to wiping my tears and going about my day like nothing happened. This is no different. He was just a stupid boy anyways.

A stupid boy that I wanted to be my husband.

———————————

"I feel much better now"

I said as I took a slice of the huge chocolate chip cookie La-Shawna and baked. It had pink frosting that wrote 'F*ck him, he looked like a noodle anyway'.

She came over to my house after school to spend some time with me. Baking is one of her strengths but it's just a hobby for me. We talked about life as I managed to burn the chocolate chips in the oven.

"You need to get out there Serenity. You can't stay stuck on a guy that has a girlfriend now. If he moved on so should you. But if you're not ready yet just ignore him and go about your day"

"Looking for someone won't hurt. It doesn't have to be a relationship, we can just be friends"

"Great, then it's settled"

She pulled out my phone then held it to my face. Once my phone was unlocked she went to the App Store and downloaded Tinder. She scrolled through my gallery and added the best photo she could find of me, which was hard since all my photos look sexy.

"Now we wait for someone to swipe right"

The talk of boys switched to shows. We made plans to start watching Grey's Anatomy since there's so much hype around it. There's seventeen seasons so we're behind.

We ate our popcorn in silence as we watched blood fly all over the operation room. The graphics look so real I was lowkey disgusted. Even though I wanted to vomit I couldn't look away.

In the middle of the show, my phone chirped. I looked down and saw it was a notification from Tinder. La-Shawna started clapping her hands in excitement. Someone swiped right.

"Let's see how he looks like"

Going into the app I wasn't expecting much. Weird people usually get on here to get a quick fix. I specifically put I was just looking for a friend in the description with caution signs around it.

When I opened the app I was shocked. I was faced with a fine brown boy that had waves and a nose piercing. His name is Dimitri Lennox.

Damn, he's fine as hell.

"Sheeeshhhhh"

"You better swipe right on him before I do"

Before I swiped I checked out his profile. Apparently, he goes to the same school as me. I've never seen him before in my life. Trust me, I would remember seeing someone as fine as him.

As I looked at his pictures I was stunned. He was giving me male model vibes. He knows how to work his angles too.

After minutes of deliberation, I swiped right on him. Seconds after he sent me a message saying hi. Deciding not to text him back too quickly I got back to watching tv.

I did what I do best. I intentionally ignored his message with the intent to reply later but, I ended up falling asleep.

Let's hope this is something different. I'm tried of going though the same situations.
