Dominic's POV

I couldn't stand seeing Serenity so upset. She called me separately when the others went to sleep. The pain she was going through was heartbreaking.

I had to do something to make her feel better so, I booked a flight to her hometown.

My mom wasn't happy about it but, she saw the urgency. She walked in on Serenity crying to me. I had to also confess my feelings to my mom so she could see the importance of me going to support Serenity.

Even though she acts like she doesn't like me, I know she's just playing. I have a few cards up my sleeve for this break. I'm pulling them all out. I want to leave as her boyfriend.

As I landed in her hometown I was amazed. I looked like a complete tourist with a big ass backpack on my back and a baseball hat. All I needed is a Hawaiian shirt.

I put her grandma's address on my phone and saw she was only thirty minutes away from the airport. I only have her address because she took a pictures of her in her outfit. She forgot her street and house number was behind her in the different poses she was doing.

Thank God she's a little slow because otherwise, this wouldn't work out.

"Where are you? I'm at the airport"

"Hold your panties little girl, I'm five minutes away." I heard Eric say as he started his car. He didn't even leave his house yet.

Eric flew out a day earlier than me since he had someone to catch up with. He refuses to tell me who which makes me want to find out even more. He's keeping her identity a secret until they make it official.

Twenty minutes. It took Eric twenty minutes to get to me. When he pulled up he had a Spongebob popsicle in his hand.

"What the hell Eric!"

"It's not my fault! I tried to get to you as fast as I can but, the ice cream man was passing by. I got you a strawberry shortcake"

He offered with a smile. I placed my bag in the back seat and snatched my ice cream out of his hand. I hate the fact that he knows my weakness. If I wasn't in desperate need of a ride to Serenitys' I would've knocked his head on the windshield.

Before we went to her grandma's house we stopped by Eric's hotel. Once we walked in all I smelt was women's perfume and hot ass. I was afraid to take a seat because lord knows what happened on those chairs.

"You couldn't wait a few hours after you dropped me off at Serenity's? This room stinks"

Eric just shrugged and crack open the door. I quickly went to take a shower before putting on my Summer Walker tee, reflective gray shorts, and my gray retros 5s.

I had to make sure I impress at least Serenity with my outfit. I know she loves Summer Walker so I just earned some brownie points.

We arrived a few minutes ago but, I was scared to get down. The house was big as hell. I was afraid to touch anything because lord knows I couldn't afford to replace it.

As I stalled for time doubt started arising. What if she already invited someone else to play her boyfriend? What if there's no space for me and I'm forced to sit on the grass?

"Get your raggedy-ass out of my car. I want to get my plate then go about my day"

I took a deep breath, making my way out of the car. I followed the sunflowers to the front of the door. I was going to knock when the door opened by itself. I made my way to the dining room with my heart in my ass. 

"Ok but, where's her boyfriend?"

I could see Serenity's face from where I was standing. She looked so vulnerable. I couldn't stop what I said next.

"I'm right here"

I said as I placed the cupcakes on the nearest table. Everyone turned back, looking at me in shock. Serenity's jaw was to the table as she registered Eric and I being in front of her. She ran to me, attacking me in a hug.

"Thank you for coming without me having to ask you"

"I would do it again in a heartbeat"

When she pulled away I could feel all eyes on us. It wasn't my plan to be her fake boyfriend. I just came for moral support. Becoming her boyfriend was going to happen later on this week.

"He looks gorgeous"

I could hear one of the older women's whispers. She cleared her throat, signaling Serenity to introduce me. Serenity rolled her eyes and did as she was signaled to do.

"Everyone this is Dominic, Dominic this is my grandma, my mom, and the rest."

I noticed she only introduced me to the important people in her life. Everyone seemed upset as they didn't get formally introduced to me.

"It's nice to meet you all, I brought some Cupcakes"

I couldn't show up to the dinner empty-handed so I bought ten custom cupcake platters for everyone. Some had Oreos on the top while others had strawberries, sprinkles, and fried Oreos.

"Cupcake?!"

Someone screamed from the kitchen. Someone, I'm guessing was her dad, came running out towards the table at full speed. He didn't notice I was here until he was elbow deep in the frosting.

"Who's this?"

"Serenity's boyfriend"

The cupcake he was holding fell out of his hand. He looked between Serenity and I in shock. Imagine I died right this moment because of a fake relationship. Her dad was staring at her as she looked at the floor.

"You, follow me. Serenity, I'll speak to you later."

I let go of Serenity's hand and follow her dad outside. I made sure to keep three feet behind him just in case he wants to strangle me.

"You better be treating my daughter right"

First of all, your daughter is the one that's mistreating me. She pinches my nipples every time I make her mad.

"Yes sir, I am"

He nodded his head, taking a seat on one of the garden chairs. I could tell he wanted to tell me something serious. I waited for him to clear his mind.

"She's not ready for a relationship right now Dominic. She still cries about what happened between her and Micheal. I don't want to see my baby girl hurt like that again."

I understood where he was going from. A random guy just showed up to his family dinner and announced he was dating his daughter.

"If you hurt her I have no choice but to kill you"

I let out a laugh. I thought it was a joke but, he wasn't laughing. He had a straight face as he just stared at me. I took a small step back, hitting my heel on the glass door.

He didn't say anything after that. He just walked past me and went inside. I took a breath of relief. The way Serenity described him as a teddy bear you would think he was joking with me.

I was going to go back inside when I was cornered by Cassidy.

"Hey, I'm, Cassidy." She said as she batted her wonky mink lashes. It was giving me very much dollar tree and Halloween custom.

"Yeah, I know who you are. I've heard a lot about you"

"All good things I hope"

"Not one of the things I heard about you makes me what to talk to you right now"

I said as I sidestepped her and walked into the dining room. I didn't come here to become friends with her. I don't owe her a conversation or my attention.

I took a seat next to Serenity who was still in shock at my presence.

"Anyone knows where the hot sauce is at?"

Eric screamed from the other side of the table. Everyone just laughed at him. He makes friends rather easily so the fact that they like him already isn't a surprise.

I could feel Serenity still staring at me in disbelief. I put my hand on her thigh to show her I was here. She put her hand on top of mine and squeezed my hand. I could get used to this.

I could feel the women at the table still staring at me. The men at the table definitely hates me now. I'm not even trying to attract attention to me. It's hard being handsome.

"I don't know why y'all staring at him for. You better look at your food before I eat it"

I heard her uncle say to his wife. Serenity told me he was her favorite uncle Floyd. She told me the moment he showed up he slid her a hundred dollar bill.

At least her mom let her keep it. My mom would've 'held' it for me then never give it back. Whenever I ask her for it she would get mad at me for not trusting her. Weeks later she would reveal she put gas with my money.

As the dinner came to an end I heard everyone begging their moms to spend a night. With much protest and disapproval, they were dragged out by their ears. They were supposed to have one spokesperson while the other wait for a response.

"You'll be sleeping in here tonight"

Serenity's mom said as she pointed to the room behind her. I didn't expect her to let me stay the night since I'm her daughter's 'boyfriend'. Step one of my plan is completed.

"You're welcome to stay here until you leave. I'll pay for your flight so you can go back with Serenity"

"Thank you ma'am but, it's ok. I paid for a round trip"

She nodded her head then handed me blankets and pillows. I thought I would have to cover with the mattress because I wasn't gonna ask for a blanket. I'll even cover with the dresser before that happens.

I watched as she walked down the hallway. Serenity's dad popped his head out and gave me a death glare. With that in mind, I rushed into my room.

"Hey daddy, I've been waiting for you."

She said as she laid in the center of the bed. The sheets and pillows I had in my hand fell. What the hell is happening?
