Water and Wings

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Reaching your room, Lucian set you down. With your feet back on the ground, you announced that you were going to get a shower and that he could leave. You weren't surprised when he said he would wait for you to finish and walked over to your bed, lying down upon it. Sighing, you rolled your eyes and went over to your closet. 'At least he wouldn't bother you in the shower' you thought to yourself, as you pulled out a navy blue set of pajamas. Both the shirt and the pants had black lace around the trim and the black buttons on the shirt were in the shapes of stars. Grabbing some undergarments as well, you headed into the bathroom, locking the door behind you.

Setting your clothes on the counter, you glanced in the mirror briefly only to see two rather large bruises on your neck. A blush swept across your face, as you reached both of your hands up to cover the marks. You just hoped that they would go away soon. Mumbling silent curses at Lucian, you undressed and went into the shower, letting the cool water fall upon your skin.

After finishing your shower, you turned off the water and walked out, grabbing a crimson towel and wrapping it around you. When you had your pajamas on, you exited the bathroom, after placing your dirty clothes and towel in the hamper. Back in the room, you saw that Lucian was leaning against the window seal, looking out at the now dark sky. He seemed to be in deep thought and so you chose to just silently walk over to the mirror. Using it, so as to pull your hair back, you smiled lightly when you found a new blue clip in your hair.

Satisfied, you walked away from the mirror and jumped a little at seeing Lucian now staring at you. Personally, you thought he would still be looking out the window, but obviously that was not the case. He signaled you to come over to him, but you only crossed your arms across your chest, remaining in your current place.

Shaking his head a little, he stated, "My pet, I just want to show you something. I think you'll like it."

"The last time you wanted to show me something, you left these marks on my neck. I don't want you to show me something."

"Oh, I'm sure they suit you quite well. You know I can always leave more if you don't come over here," he replied, smirking.

Muttering inaudible curses at him, you reluctantly went over to him, eyeing him suspiciously. With no warning, he brought his hands up to your neck and traced his thumbs over the bruises. He seemed rather pleased at seeing the bruises. This action sent chills up your spine and you took a step back from him in response. Lucian withdrew his hands from your neck and pulled you over to him before pressing your back to his chest, as he wrapped his arms around your waist, securing you in place. A light dash of pink crossed your cheeks, as he rested his chin on top of your head.

"Now, my pet, I want you to look out through the window and tell me what you see."

Since you really couldn't move at the moment, you just complied and looked out the window. As usual clouds covered the sky while a light rain fell from the grey clouds. The moon shone partially through the cloud cover, casting an eerie yet beautiful light on the courtyard of the mansion. Furthermore, it painted the forest in an enchanting light as well, though you saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"What exactly am I supposed to be looking at? I see the typical scenery Lucian," you stated slightly annoyed.

"Look more closely, look at the clouds," he uttered quietly.

Glancing once more outside the window, you peered more at the cloud covered sky. Still nothing seemed unusual to you. What was he seeing that you weren't? Getting irritated, you stared harder, trying to find something. That was when you saw the moon's light shine on a delicate form in the sky. At first you questioned whether your eyes were deceiving you, but then you remembered that you were in the world of magic. Your (e/c) eyes widened in wonder, as you saw the graceful and strong creature fly through the storm clouds. A greyish-white Pegasus flew before you with eyes glowing like that of lightning. Its feathered wings expanded to their full length, as it danced among the raining clouds. The Pegasus's mane and tail whipped around it, which added to the spectacular scene.

As you watched the Pegasus, you didn't notice that you were pushing against Lucian's arms in order to get closer to the window, so you could view it better. Glad to see you intrigued by the creature, Lucian smiled lightly and watched the creature fly around as well. Seeing the creature fly around fueled the child within you and you had the urge to go outside and call to the creature, hoping that it would allow you to ride it. When it disappeared once and for all behind the clouds, you felt your heart sink a bit, since you wanted to watch it for longer.

"I knew that you would like seeing the Pegasus, my pet."

"Yeah, it was magnificent."

"Good, but why don't we get something to eat. I'm sure you're rather hungry."

Nodding in response, you felt Lucian release you from his grip. Linking his left arm with your right one, he guided you out of the room and to the dining room. Reaching the dining room, you found the usual dinnerware set on the tablecloth. Taking your seats, Lucian snapped his fingers and the food appeared. Cod with a lemon and butter sauce lay on the plate while a salad with Italian dressing rested in front of you in a separate bowl. Your drink was simple ice water while Lucian had a glass of red wine. While the two of you ate, you remembered that the original chef doll was destroyed, meaning that Nafera probably cooked this food, which was quite good.

"Lucian, are you intending to make more dolls, since Nafera is the only one left?"

"Well yes, I shall commence on that this week. Furthermore, I'll teach you how to dance the night before the event, since it's rather simple."

"Are you sure I can learn a dance in only a night?" you questioned, rather doubtful of his claim.

"Oh, why do you want to spend more time with me?"

"I think that I already spend quite enough time with you," you muttered.

"I would have to disagree with that, my pet."

"You constantly keep me under your watch. How is that not enough time for you?"

"That statement is also wrong. I attend council meetings and you're not with me then. Moreover, I'm not watching you while you're taking a shower, though I can always change that."

Hearing this statement, you froze slightly and accidentally dropped your fork. Your cheeks turned crimson and your mouth gaped opened a bit.

"There's no way I'm letting that happen!" you shouted, as you now slammed your hands on the table and glared at him rather embarrassed.

"Hmm, but you have such soft skin," Lucian stated, smirking at your reaction.

"Just be quiet!" you shouted again, getting more embarrassed.

"You're so cute when embarrassed, my pet. Don't worry though; I wouldn't actually invade your privacy like that" he said, chuckling lightly at your tomato red face.

Relieved at this statement, you sent him one last glare for teasing you before returning to your food. Just the thought of him even attempting such an act made you horribly red in the face and you found yourself stabbing your food rather harshly, wanting to block the thought out completely. 'What a perverted jerk' you kept thinking, as you continued to stab your food. Lucian on the hand found your embarrassment amusing and he loved how easily he could make you embarrassed.

Having finished your food, you went to leave the dining room, so that you could go to sleep. In the process though, you forgot about the fact that Lucian had to put a barrier around your mind. If only the barriers around the mansion could protect your mind as well. That way Lucian wouldn't have to stay with you as you slept. Thus you halted your movement and turned to look back at Lucian, who was taking a sip of his wine.

"I wondered how long it would take you to remember the fact that I must put a barrier around your mind while you sleep."

"Just hurry up with your food; I want to sleep," you stated, not making eye contact with him.

This whole barrier thing would get old really fast. In fact you were already sick of it and you just wanted to sleep by yourself. Then again it was either this, or have Rezin trying to take control over you and frankly you wanted to maintain control over your own mind. Sighing, you glanced back at Lucian and jumped back slightly, since he was now mere inches from you.

"Hmm, eager to spend some time with me?"

"You know that's not the reason Lucian."

"Yes, I know, though I wish it was the reason," he stated, as he went to walk out of the dining room, waiting for you to follow him.

Trailing behind him out of the dining room, you realized that he was heading for his own room. 'Of course he would be heading there' you thought to yourself. Knowing that you couldn't sway his mind, you silently muttered to yourself and just continued to follow behind him.
