THIRTEEN

Josephine Rankin was at a Formula One race.

Her heels clicked loudly on the asphalt as she walked, her light brown hair blowing in the wind and occasionally getting in to her face, causing her to lift one of her hands to move it away.

The model smiled as she walked down and through the paddock, being greeted by a couple of people, some of whom were reporters, paparazzi, trainers and even one or two of the drivers.

She waved lightly to her ex boyfriend that was Sebastian Vettel, seeing him returning the gesture since they had agreed to stay civil with one another and attempt to be friends.

Her feet walked towards a different garage, walking in to it and smiling once again as she recieved small greetings from the crew inside of that garage.

She walked past Max Chilton, with the two of them giving each other a small hug in greeting before they both got on with their lives, walking past one another as she spotted the person that she had come to see.

"Bonjour, mon amour."

Josephine smiled as she approached him from behind, her arms snaking around his waist which made him chuckle, immediately pulling her around so that he could hug her properly.

The brunette man that was in front of her pressed his lips twice against her cheeks which made them blush a light shade of pink, bringing his hand up to brush his thumb over them lightly. His lips gently pressed against her own for a brief moment, pulling away as a smile lit up his face.

"Bonjour, ma cheri. You look absolutely beautiful."

Jules Bianchi beamed at his girlfriend, his hands resting on her waist as her arms placed themselves over his shoulders, her smile matching his own.

They had not long been together, only three months but it didn't matter to them, with the both of them pretty sure that they had found their forever love, their soulmate that it didn't matter how long or how little time they had been together.

When they were together, their hearts were full and complete.

"If I do well at this race, I'll take you anywhere in the world that you want to go." Jules smiled with love, his voice gentle, soft and angelic.

"That'll be anywhere with you." Josephine giggled, wrinkles forming around her eyes from how big and bright her smile was, the blue within them sparkling like the sun hitting the ocean's surface.

Her hand was held softly in the French man's own hand, which he would occasionally lift up to his lips so that he could kiss her knuckles whenever he wanted to hear her giggles that made his heart melt.

She was his first love, only love and everlasting love.

And he was her first love, true love and soulmate.

Forever, till death do them part.

"How's my favorite aussie?"

Daniel Ricciardo laughed as he wrapped his arm loosely around the shoulders of the Australian model Josephine Rankin, making her jump in surprise at having not noticed him sneaking up on her.

"I'm doing better. I met Jules' parents."

Daniel halted in his tracks immediately, turning his body to face her in shock from the words that had left her lips. He could see the small smile that she was giving him, forcing him to return a smile of his own.

"How did it go?"

"They kept hugging me." Josephine admitted, squeezing her hands together whilst she chewed at her bottom lip. "I've agreed to go to dinner with them and the Leclerc's next week."

The Ricciardo man let a gentle smile fill his face as he noticed that the woman in front of him actually seemed to be okay with meeting them for dinner, and gently pulled her against his chest, feeling her arms immediately snake around his waist whilst his went around her shoulders.

"Are you sure that you'll be up to it then?" Daniel questioned with concern, his chin resting on top of her head.

"I've blanked them ever since he died, I can't keep running away from the truth." The Rankin woman admitted with a heavy heart, eyes squeezed shut as two stray tears left her tear ducts, running down her cheeks.

"I'm so proud of you, you know that, right?"

The Renault formula one driver pulled back from the hug to lift one of his hands, lifting it to cup her cheek softly as they stared in to one anothers irises.

His lips pressed gently against her forehead, pulling back to see her release a deep sigh, before her eyes widened, as if she had just suffered a light bulb moment and remembered something.

"My brother's in town, you can finally meet him." The Rankin woman grinned as she noticed him immediately nodding his head up and down with no hesitation. "He's already met Charles and Arthur and he loves them. I think that he's thinking about kidnapping them both."

Daniel immediately started to laugh, wrinkles forming around his eyes from how bright his beaming smile was, appearing heavenly and beautiful.

"Let him take Charles. That way I don't have to battle with a Ferrari."

The two Australians chuckled, their chuckles soon turning in to full fits of laughter, as the arm of the Ricciardo man once again wrapped around her shoulders with the two of them carrying on with walking once again.

"Does he like beer? I can buy him some beer as a welcome gift, if he does." Daniel found himself asking.

"He's more of a strong spirit guy, but he'll drink beer. It is alcohol, after all." Josephine noticed how the man beside her was nodding to himself, as if he was trying to make sure that the information stayed in his head.

"Favorite food?"

"He'll eat anything. Literally anything."

"Would he eat a human?" Daniel raised one of his eyebrows in curiosity.

"Probably!" The Rankin woman smiled at the face of disgust that he pulled at the words that had left her lips, her nose scrunching up slightly as she giggled.

His head instantly snapped towards her face at the sound of her giggles, seeing just how cheeeful and happy she looked, his breath being caught temporarily in his throat from that very sight.

"Are you still not speaking to your parents?"

Daniel found himself blurting the words out before he could stop them, eyes widening slightly as he became startled and worried as to what she would say to him.

"I haven't spoken to them in years." The Rankin woman admitted sheepishly, a lump forming in her throat.

Daniel took note of the change in her mood that he had caused, intertwining his fingers with hers and squeezing her hand reassuringly.

"They put effort in to speak to Blake, sending him care packages when he was deployed, but they can't even be bothered to text me a 'hello.' I just got so bored of putting in the effort for them when they barely cared in the first place."

The model released a deep sigh, a puff of air leaving her plump lips as her shoulders sagged, though her lips twitched up slightly as she felt the softest of squeezes to her hand.

"Their loss, you know." Daniel muttered. "Who wouldn't want to know you? They clearly have no idea how amazing, how talented, how funny and how caring their daughter is. It's their loss that they don't have the pleasure of spending time with you, that I so thankfully do."

He shot her a teasing wink, a small scoff like laugh leaving her lips as she pushed both of her hands in to his chest, sending him stumbling away and almost making him fall to the ground though he was thankfully able to catch himself before that happened.

He grinned mischievously as he moved towards the Rankin woman, his hands grabbing at her waist to throw her over his shoulder, her squeals of laughter sounding angelic to his ears as he spun around in a circle, making sure that he didn't get too dizzy or make her too dizzy.

Josephine clung to his shoulders and his arms desperately in order to make sure that she didn't fall, her smile beaming brightly like sunshine on a beautifully sunny day, her giggles and laughs sounding as if they belonged to an angel.

Her heart was beating rapidly from the inside of her chest, almost punching against her ribs like it was trying to burst out and be free, her lungs struggling to be filled with much needed oxygen from how much she was laughing.

Her ears could pick up the echoing sounds of laughter from the Ricciardo man who was still currently holding her, her smile growing from just how happy he actually sounded, as if he was care free and had everything that he had ever wanted in the world.

When her feet finally touched down on the asphalt, she leant her head back so that she was looking straight up at the clouds in the sky and allowed her eyes to softly close, smiling upwards just as beams of sunlight started to shine down on the pair.

Daniel watched in awe as the beams of sunlight beamed down on them, the clouds moving out of the way so that the sun was the only thing in the sky, a small and reminiscing smile formed its way on to his lips.

"It's Jules."

He whispered quietly, copying the Rankin woman in leaning his head back, closing his eyes and smiling up at the sky and the sun that eloped them in warmth and its light.

"I know." Josephine giggled as she smiled, the sun almost appearing to become brighter at the sound.

After all, Jules was now a star in the sky, and what star was the biggest one?

The Sun.

The two Australians took hold of each others hands and leant back, holding each other up as they smiled up at the sun, bathing in its gift of sunlight and warmth.

They stood there for a couple of minutes in silence, with each of them enjoying the company that they had with them, as well as their lost love shining down on them and proving that whilst he was no longer a human on eath, that he was still around and would never let them be alone.

Daniel softly opened his eyes, blinking a couple of times to adjust to the sudden flood of sunlight in to his irises, and gently pulled the Rankin woman back to her feet, causing her eyes to snap open.

"He never left you, Josie." Daniel murmured, his tone gentle and understanding. "He may not be around in person, but he never left you."

He noticed the blue of her eyes become glassy for a moment as she smiled, her head nodding up and down a couple of times whilst she lifted both of her hands up to her face to wipe away the few stray tears that had managed to escape her eyes, ridding her face of the tears that she didn't want to cry anymore.

No more tears.

She took a deep breath of oxygen in to her lungs as she allowed a caring smile fill her face, wrinkles forming around her eyes as the smile was big enough to reach them.

"That's the same for you, you know." She spoke with care and attention in her voice. "I've seen how you grieve for him when you think that nobody is looking, Danny."

Daniel hung his head in shame.

Her feet shuffled closer to him so that she could lift his head back up, her hands softly resting on his soft cheeks as he stared at her, looking as if he was seeing in to her soul.

"And it's okay. You have helped me so much Danny, and now I feel like that I can talk about him without fainting and breaking down, and I couldn't have done that without you." Josie smiled at him, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

"Now, it's my turn to help you. I want to be by your side like you were with me when I needed somebody. It's what Jules would've wanted, us helping each other."

Small kisses to pressed against both of his cheeks before arms wrapped around his shoulders for a hug which he so desperately needed, his head nestling in to the crook of her neck.

God, he needed that hug.

"To Jules." Daniel whispered, his voice cracking slightly.

"To Jules."
