Kari's POV

After she said that, I stopped drinking my tea and put it on the table.

I sighed sadly and said, " I guess you wanted to know where I come from, huh" she nodded.

"Yes, I do" she said.

" *sighs* I was born from a very unique village called crystal village, the village is unique for its crystals and gems; in fact our resources. And just like every villages' system we also have a Lord. The lord of the village happens to be my mother while my father is the head guard. I was happy.... but then IT happened" I said, with hatred in my voice when I remembered the incident 13 years ago then I sense someone is eavesdropping our conversation but I payed no mind to it.

" my village was attacked by shadow knights, they killed my parents, my friends, they killed everyone..... I was the only survivor that managed to escape " I said, while I told her my story I tried to keep my powers from flaring up and control my anger.

"heck, I almost died that day but she came" I said, as I remember Aurora; who became a mother figure in my life.

"she?" lady Aphmau asked.

"after I got out of the village, a woman with white hair came in and tried to kill me but I ran away from her however I was then surrounded by shadow knights... I thought I was going to die but a dragon saved me and took me in as her own" I said with a small smile on my face when I remembered the times I spent with Aurora until she disappeared.

"sorry, did you just say a dragon saved you?" she asked in disbelief and I nodded and continued.

"however.... she disappeared 8 years ago, I traveled everywhere to look for her but there's no sight of her and finally when I arrived to a village called O'khasis, their 'high priest' sent guards to capture me for my powers so I ran and use one ounce of magic to distract them until I arrived to your village and one of your guards found me" I said remembering a man with black hair ordered the guards once I came into the village.

Aphmau's POV

as I listened more in Kari's story, it seems Zane send guards to capture her because of her powers which Zoey told me about after Kari went out to explore in the village which means she can be a target if she were to go outside the walls of Phoenix drop she would then get captured.

her relationship with shadow knights isn't pleasant either; as it seems that the woman with white hair might be Sasha attacked the village with a group of shadow knights however about that dragon that saved Kari must be an Elemental Dragon.

From what Zoey told me Dragons existed 100,000 years ago and was then disappeared, nobody knows how and why they disappeared.

"lady Aphmau? if it was too much to ask but may I stay in your village till I fully recovered my strength" she asked.

"yes, of course; you can stay as long as you want" I said as she mumbled a 'thank you' and offered her to sleep at the guest room and tomorrow I'll ask Cadenza to make clothes for her since the current one she's wearing is torn and worn out after days of travelling plus running away from O'khasis guards.

Right before I go upstairs, I saw both Laurence and Garroth at the window right at my door.

I was wondering on what were they doing here by thus time of night; so I opened the door and said, " Garroth? Laurence? What are you two doing here by this time of night?"

"We apologize for disturbing you by this time lady aphmau we were just worried about you" Garroth said.

" and we apologize for eavesdropping on your conversation with lady Kari" Laurence Said as they both apologize.

"Wait, you were eavesdropping our conversation? So you heard everything?" I asked them and they both nodded.

" it was actually bizzare though, wyverns are another thing but dragons? It sounds completely impossible " Garroth said, in unbelief.

It is true though, the sound of dragons might seem impossible but Zoey sensed her magicks and Kari; she doesn't seem like she's lying.

"And it explains about her reaction towards me when she first saw me..." Laurence Said, his face held seriousness.

" but why would they even attack the village, the Zu'ra region was hardly even known heck I never even heard of that region until now" Garroth said, in thought which made me wonder as well... why would the shadow knights even attack a village that was hardly even known.

" It could be anything, their resources, it's history, multiple people, it's power; whatever it is it's not good, but... I doubt Sasha knew about Crystal village, it's impossible for her to lead an attack unless... someone told her about Crystal village and led the attack" Laurence Said since he's a shadow knight himself so he knows the possibility on why its attack.

" it make sense... but I wonder why the person would betray their own village unless... it's revenge.." I said, in seriousness since it does makes sense; their hatred towards the village would often lead to revenge.

"You could be right but their must be a reason why they would do a village massacre" Garroth said as silence filled the air as I thought of Kari.

Being the only survivor must have been hard, I can't imagine what that would like towards my own village.

"We may never know but right we should let lady aphmau to rest, again we apologize for disturbing you at this time, we'll be taking our leave, good night lady aphmau" Laurence said.

" good night Laurence, Garroth" I said as they left and I went upstairs and went to my room and slept.
