Continuation from previous chapter

I just couldn't think about anything from the moment I heard Rithvik say those words .... "oh man you're falling for her" ..... Am I ? ..... & the only answer I'm able to think of is I don't know 🤷‍♂️

Keeping these thoughts aside I started coming out of my room & that is when my phone started ringing, it is from Nidhi bhabhi asking me to come to the hall where the mehendi function is held ..... replying to her that we'll be there in 10 mins I disconnected the call ......

I saw Rithvik & Mohit were busy in practicing dance, I wondered why are they doing this .... I walked towards them & asked about the same ....

We are planning to give surprise to our bhabhi by dancing on this song ...... I heard Mohit say

But it's not needed, we'll ..... I couldn't complete as Rithvik interrupted

Abhey we are not asking your permission, we are just giving you the information & you're also dancing with us, that's final ..... I heard Rithvik say sternly

Yes I agree with him ...... I heard Mohit say

I don't have any other option rather than agreeing with them ..... so we started practicing few steps. They have chose to perform for "Mehndi laga ke Rakhna" from DDLJ , this is one of my fav movies .....

As soon I stepped into the hall I was rooted at my place, everything froze for a second ..... I couldn't see anyone there except Her ...... she was looking so gorgeous in that green colour lehenga choli, she was wearing very simple jewellery with minimal makeup ..... yet she was looking beautiful ......

I was so lost in her that I couldn't notice the gaze from my friends .... I would've stood there itself staring her if there was no tap from Rithvik .....

Saale Teri hi honewali biwi hain, zindagi bhar dekthe rehna ... ab muh bandh karo aur chalo .... I heard Rithvik say

Composing myself I said okay ....

As soon as I saw her losing balance while twirling I  immediately moved towards her & got hold on her waist ..... I could see her eyes closed, trust me she was looking so beautiful ..... I just wanted to kiss her but I controlled myself ..... may be this what Self control means ......

I made her stand up & tightened my grip around her waist as she can't hold me due to mehendi on her hands ..... I couldn't take my eyes from the beauty standing infront of me ...... we both were lost in each other ...... I wish this moment stops here.

As soon as I heard music playing in the back ground I started singing along with song ... I could see her confused expressions, trust me she was looking so cute ..... meanwhile Rithvik, Mohit & other boys joined me in dancing .....

Song : Mehendi laga ke rakhna

I danced while taking circles around her & I can see her blushing ...... throughout the dance I saw her stealing glances at me making me blush like a teenager ..... & yeah I was also stealing glances at her ......

After sometime I saw her turning in other direction, I didn't understand why but am sure of one thing she was blushing while thinking of something ..... may be it's about Me !!

As soon as the function ended we all retired to our rooms ..... changing into something comfortable I hopped on bed ..... how my life has been changed in two months ..... never I thought I'd be thinking about a girl until I met Her .....

I was against the word marriage but due to family's pressure I had to agree .... If I say I don't like her or I don't want this marriage to work it will be a very big lie coz I want US to be together throughout our lifetime ..... I won't say I'm deeply in love with her but I can say am attracted towards her & May be as my friends say I started falling for her .....

Tomorrow will be a very tiring day, from morning we have to rehearse for our Sangeet & later in the evening function will commence ..... & it will continue till the late night .....

Since the time I've arrived in the hall for dance rehearsals my eyes were searching for only one particular person but that person is no where to be seen ...... why is it taking so long for her to come, is she okay or is she not feeling well or ..... I couldn't think further as there was a tap on my shoulder ....

Turning to right I saw Rithvik & Mohit raising their brows ...... Oh god they caught me searching for her now they will tease me .....

What ?..... I asked in a casual tone

Whom are you searching for ? ...... I heard Rithvik say while looking in all directions

No one, am just checking whether everything is decorated for Sangeet function or not ...... I replied while shrugging my shoulders

Oh is it ? So how's the decoration ....... I heard Mohit say

Hmmmm actually it's good but I guess some more lights should be fixed for lighting ..... I replied while roaming my eyes around the hall

Yeah I guess you're right, what say Mohit ..... I heard Rithvik say

I agree ...... I heard Mohit say

See I told you ...... I replied while raising my shirt collar

Abhey saale, there are less lights because this hall his decorated for mehendi function which is already over & the sangeet function is in different hall. Hamse jhoot boltha hain, tu toh gaya ..... I heard Rithvik say

In the very next moment I saw both of them moving in my direction while I started taking my steps in backward direction ...... please yaaar abhi nahi, I pleaded them but no use. In no time they started chasing me, we three were running across the hall .....

May be after 10mins we all started panting heavily, I was happy that I was still far ahead of them .... suddenly they started running towards me & the chasing started again ..... I thought I would definitely kiss the ground as I lost my balance ...... but there was a hand clutching shirt around my waist .... & other hand was intertwined with mine ...

I know who it is, I can feel her touch .... the moment I lift my head our eyes met ..... & everything else froze around US . I don't know for how much time we were in that position but I wish it could've lasted for some more time ..... it took a tap on my shoulder to come out of Our World ....

Realising that she was holding me, I quickly stood on my feet to face her ..... I could see her cheeks turning into deep red colour ..... oh gosh she will just kill me with her beauty .... smiling at my thought I cleared my throat ......

Are you okay ...... I asked while looking at her

I should be the one to ask you that question ...... I heard her say while smiling

Yeah am fine but you're the one who was baring my whole weight, So just wanted to check whether you're fine or not ...... I asked her

Don't worry jiju coz she is the only one who has right to bare your weight ......  I heard her friend Tridha say while winking at Avni

Omg it's so embracing, how should I react to this .... I could see Avni glaring at her friend like she gonna kill her at this moment .... but thank god there are no elders here if not the situation would've been more worse .....

A mere mention of baring weight took me into different world ..... what it's very common right ? I came out of trance when I heard Rithvik calling me .....

Neil ......

That is when I realised that they were chasing me .. I didn't know where to run so I just stood behind Avni holding her shoulders ..... coz I know this is the only safest place as of now ......

Avni please save me from these monsters .... I said loudly

Neil it's okay they won't do anything ..... I heard her say

Wow ..... I've never felt my name sounding so good until I heard from Her ..... Neil what are you thinking have you gone mad or what ... I heard my inner voice say ..... at the very moment I heard Rithvik's voice .....

Bhabhi please move aside, we won't leave this idiot .... I heard him say

Avni please save me ...... I said while tightening my grip on her shoulders

Please leave him for my sake ..... I heard her say while looking at my monkey friends

Okay bhabhi we're leaving him only because you said .... I heard Mohit say

Arey wah devar aur bhabhi ka bond abhi se shuru, not bad ..... I heard her friend Tridha say

Of course devar aur bhabhi ka Rishtha hai hi kuch Aisa, haina bhabhi ...... I heard Rithvik say while wrapping his hand around her shoulder

You're cent percent right Rithvik ..... I heard Avni say while smiling

I was feeling very happy seeing the bond between my best friends & Avni ..... it's been only a day they met but they bonded so well .....

Oh I see then I'll be on my jiju's side ..... I heard Tridha say while wrapping her hand around my arm

Okay ! As you all know today is sangeet so why not we've a dance competition boy's side vs girl's side .... I heard Mohit say

Yeah it's a good idea, let's have the competition ..... I heard Tridha say

Okay so let's practice in different halls ..... I heard Rithvik say

Why in different halls, we all can practice here .... I said looking at them

I really want her to be infront of me, I know am sounding like a mad person but what can I do .... it's not my mistake, it's all because of my stupid heart .... " The Heart Wants What it Wants"

Acha ... So that we all can see each other's dance, dude it's competition we've to keep it secret till evening ..... I heard Mohit say

Then why are we wasting time here in this discussion, let's start our rehearsals ..... I heard Rithvik say

Guys we've to complete group dance rehearsals as soon as possible coz I've to make Avni & Neil practice for couple dance as well, So make sure it is completed on time ..... I heard Anurag ( dance choreographer ) say

Okay .... We replied

The groups have been divided, my two friends Mohit & Rithvik are from her side & Tridha , Nidhi bhabhi & Arav bhayya from my side ..... I saw their group moving to another hall ..... I just hope our group dance rehearsals comes to end as soon possible, So that I can have couple dance with my fiancé !!!

Finally our group dance rehearsals came to end & now we all are relaxing ..... I saw her laughing while talking to Tridha ..... I can spend my whole life just seeing her smiling face, everything is so natural about her ..... what else do I need in my life !!

Avni & Neil take a break for 1/2 hr, after that we'll start your couple dance rehearsals .... is that okay ? ..... I heard Anurag say

Okay .... we both replied in unison

Everyone started having their lunch but she was sitting at one corner lost in her thoughts .... I slowly walked towards her & took a seat beside her .....

Hey Avni where are you lost ..... I asked while looking in her direction & that is when she came out of her trance

Hey Neil, nothing just like that ..... I heard her say while smiling

Why are you not eating anything ? ..... I asked her

We've to practice for dance & if I eat anything I'll be not able to dance ...... I heard her say while laughing

Yeah true but we've to eat something or else we'll fall down due to giddiness ..... I replied

Hmmm then let's have some juice or biscuits, that should be fine I guess ...... I heard her say

I might be wrong but I guess she is pretending to be happy, even if she's smiling it is not reaching up to her eyes .... something is wrong with her I had to know .... but how ? As far as I know, she will not open up infront everyone, So I had to take her to some place where we can be alone ......

I was about to talk to her but couldn't as I saw everyone settling themselves in chairs around us. I had to do something, thinking I stood up & went towards our dance choreographer ....

Anurag I need to talk to you ....

What is it Neil, is everything okay ? ...... I heard him say

Yeah everything is fine, actually I wanted to ask you can me & Avni join you in an hour for dance practice .....

Yes but you'll be having very less time for practice .... I heard him say

It's okay no problem we'll manage ......

Then no issues .... I heard him say

Thank you .... saying this I went back to our group ....

Avni I need to talk to you, come with me ..... I thought I was asking her to join me but it came out as an order. Whatever it is I don't care, all I care is I've to talk to her

Neil but ..... I didn't let her complete

Come with me ..... saying this I took her hand in mine & started moving from there

I can hear everyone teasing us but I didn't turn neither I gave a chance for her to turn .... taking long strides I took her to the lawn .....

Avni what is it, why are you pretending to be happy ..... I said while looking at her

No Neil I'm fine, am not pretending am seriously happy ...... I heard her say

No you're lying, I know something is wrong tell me what is it ? ..... I asked while holding her hand

Nothing is wrong Neil, I'm fine .... I heard her say

Avni I can see it in your eyes, please don't lie to me .... tell me what is it .... I asked while cupping her cheeks

I could see her eyes turning glassy & in the next moment she broke down in my arms ..... she hugged me so tightly as if am going to run away from her. Keeping my thoughts aside I wrapped my one hand around her waist & with another hand I was just caressing her hair ...... After some time I broke the silence ....

Avi look at me .... I said while lifting her head up, she was looking down ..... making her look at me I wiped her tears .....

Don't cry Avi please, I cannot see tears in your eyes .... I said still while wiping her tears

Come here .... saying this I took her towards the bench .... making her sit on that, I took my place beside her ....

Now tell me what is bothering you Avi ..... I asked while taking her hands into mine & placing them on her lap

Neil I told you about my friend Priya ( if you don't remember this please refer to chapter 4 (b) ) right .... I heard her say

Yes I remember ..... I replied while looking at her

Today is the day, she left us ... it's been an year exactly. Am unable to forget her, whatever I'm doing, wherever I'm it is reminding me of her. I tried to overcome that but still am unable to forget her & the incidents happened with her .....

We (Me, Priya & Tridha ) use to make plans for our wedding functions .... we'll dance on this song, we'll wear these kind dresses etc .....everything is taking me back to those conversations we had ..... What should I do, how should I forget her .... how Neil how .... please tell me ....

I couldn't say anything, I just took her into my embrace .... she is crying & am unable to do anything ..... how can I take her pain away .... god please help me ..... composing myself I started talking .....

Avi I know it is very hard to overcome that, but still try .... think of the happy memories you had with her, think of those happy days you spent with her ..... I know it's very easy to say, but still you can give a try ...... if she sees you crying she will feel very bad. Do you want her to be sad ? ..... I asked while lifting her head

No .... I heard her say

Then don't cry, be happy .... & now when she sees you like this she also be very happy, right .... I asked her while wiping her tears

Yes she will be happy & I promise I won't cry thinking about her ...... I heard while smiling

Good that's like my girl ..... I replied while placing a kiss on her forehead

By the way how did you knew that something was bothering me .... I heard her say

Hmmm it's becoz no one knows you better than me, after all you're my soon to be wifey .... I replied while winking at her

Hahahah yeah right soon to be my husband ..... I heard her say while giggling

I don't know how did I know so much about her ... may be this is what a soulmate connection is !!

I'm feeling better now, thank you so much Mr. Khanna ..... saying this she hugged me & kissed against my neck 

I was so shocked to respond, it just happened in a blink of moment .....

Woh am sorry , it just happened in excitement .... I heard her say while blushing

It's okay Mrs. Neil Khanna to be, you've every right on me like I've on you .... saying this I leaned towards her & kissed her on cheeks

I could see her cheeks turning into deep shade of red ..... I swear if see her flushed face even for one more second I'll kiss her .... this time on her lips ... my trance was broken when I heard my phone ringtone ....

Haan Mohit, we'll be there in 5 mins .... saying this I disconnected the call. Thank god he called if not I'd have ended up kissing her, not that I was not interested but I think it should happen at the right time ..... I've decided to take the things very slowly even after our marriage .....

Avni let's go our choreographer is waiting for us ..... I said while standing up & took her hand into mine

Let's go ..... saying this she got up & we both started walking towards the hall !!

Finally it was the time for sangeet function & all the guests arrived, everyone were dressed up traditionally ..... lighting in the hall was perfect,the music played in the background is perfect .... some people were chatting, some were having drinks .....

Our Khanna saheb eyes we're searching only for one person since he arrived at the hall ..... may be god has listened to his prayers, the person whom he was waiting impatiently is entering from the door ...  he didn't even blink his eyes even for a second .....

She was looking ravishingly beautiful, he couldn't take his eyes off her ..... on the other hand even she was in same state, he was looking very handsome .... for a minute both their eyes were locked with each other ..... everything & everyone in their surroundings were frozen ..... they were enjoying their US time ......

After what felt like ages there was a announcement which brought them back to reality .... thank god !

Good evening Ladies & gentleman, We Khanna's & Mehta's welcome you all for our AvNeil sangeet function, it really means a lot to us. We are very grateful to each one of you who took out their time from busy schedules & made their presence here to bless the lovely couple who are getting married tomorrow ......

So without any further delay we'd like to start the function with a group dance which is a surprise for our lovely couple ...... please put your hands together for Khanna's & Mehta's ..... this was the announcement made by Arav Khanna ( Neil's bro)!

All their family members stood on stage, ready to perform a group performance ..... Both AvNeil were shocked to see Dadi & Bebe standing on stage ready to perform ...... & the music started playing ....

Woohooo that was a electrified performance, huge round of applause for all the Khanna's & Mehta's ..... So now the next performance is by our lovely couple AvNeil, I'd like to welcome them on stage ..... Rithvik announced

Aag laga do stage pe apni chemistry se ..... Rithvik said to AvNeil while winking at them, this words made their cheeks turn into deeper red colour ....
