In which I made art on vacation.

I wanted to paint the sunrise. I got up at 5 o'clock in the morning to set up my paints. But my first attempt was terrible and muddy so I started over.

My first mistake was painting the blue sky first, before the other colors. I did a light blue wash, and ended up pre-ruining it. My second mistake was using a paintbrush to paint the colors instead of a sponge. So I added fireworks with a paint knife to make it better. It turned out okay, actually.

Now have the good sunrise painting!

First off, I learned from my previous attempt, and did not paint the blue sky. Secondly, I used a sponge to move the paint around. I also applied the paint directly to the canvas. The clouds are made with a paint knife.

Artists! Always learn from your mistakes to make something better.
