Gattenmeier tended to the cut on Matenou's foot, unraveling some length from a roll of bandages and rewrapping it around the hurt area. "That wasn't very pretty to come to. What happened, kiddo?"

"Me and Groupus got into a fight... He started it!" Matenou crossed his arms, looking to the side.

"I understand you two fought, but why? What was it about?" Gattenmeier ripped the end attached to the role with her teeth, and tied it to the other, tucking the excess under the top layer of bandage. Matenou stayed silent, starting to tear up again.

Gattenmeier slowly rubbed his shoulder to comfort him. "You can tell me anything, you know."

Matenou sighed silently. "I.. got a boyfriend a couple days ago, but Groupus doesn't approve.. because he's a human... ...But he's not LIKE what Khan says humans are!" He grabbed at his hair in frustration.

"I see.." Gattenmeier knew how Groupus stood with his opinions. The maid Yo-Kai smiled, prying Matenou's fists open and moving them away from his head. "Well, if you and him happy, that's what matters. We both know that Groupus Khan just wants to look out for you, you guys have been friends for a long time. That's what friends do."

"I don't want to even call him a friend, he's been a complete.. jerk!!" Matenou made sure to watch his language around the elder.

"It's his way of looking out for you. I'm sure he'll change his mind eventually, if he gets to know your special someone and see that he's not what he thinks." Gattenmeier fixed the bun she had her hair tied into.

"HE WOULD KILL HIM!" Matenou screamed.

"Not on my watch, he won't." Gattenmeier pounded a fist into her other hand.

Matenou took a shaky breath, then relaxed. Gattenmeier was a very capable, reliable, strong woman.

"You should bring your boyfriend here some time. What's his name, sweetie?" Gattenmeier got up from the edge of the bed, smoothing out her apron.

"Arthur.." Matenou smiled a little bit, standing himself.

"Oh, Arthur is such a darling name! Perfect for a future king, I'd say~" Gattenmeier winked, floating to the door.

"Granny!!" Matenou gasped, his embarrassed, red cheeks standing out like a shining white star in a pitch black sky.

"Oh Matenou, you know I'm just teasing~" Gattenmeier giggled. "Hurry along now, you're supposed to be with Arthur!"

Matenou zipped out of the room, racing to get his brother and leave.

Gattenmeier smiled. "They grow up so fast.."
