One thing Gabriel had never expected to happen in what he assumed would be his very short life as a hunter, was that he would end up working with an angel. If anyone had told him that he would, in fact, be working with two angels, well he would have laughed and stabbed them.

Now, he sat at the motel room's tiny table (it wobbled everytime he moved or bumped it, which was getting annoying), tiredly flicking through some old book in hopes of learning something in the lore about why on Earth the demons were centering in on this town. He was, however, distracted by the fact that two angels were currently sitting on the couch and talking in hushed tones. Castiel was passed out on his bed, his black hair sticking out at all angles.

Gabriel didn't trust these angel's one bit. He hadn't exactly had the best experience with their kind after all, given the whole them trying to kill him thing. He also wasn't dumb (or he would have been killed a long time ago), he had killed angels - in self defense mind you - and he was almost 100% certain that the rest of angel kind would have a grudge against him now. So he really didn't trust Sam and Dean.

Still, he knew that this case was big. Bigger than him and Cas anyway. So, as much as they all hated it, they had to work together on this one.

He was tired of always being one step behind these demons. What were they after? Why were they here? Why this town? Gabriel slams the book shut in frustration, closing his eyes and resting his head against the book.

He just wanted to be able to be down with this job, it was getting more and more confusing the further he got into the lore. Meaning, there was absolutely nothing in the lore explaining why the demons were here.

Why was it that they always seemed to end up with the worst, and hardest, cases?

He needed to get out of this motel room before he stabbed himself with something, he needed fresh air before his head exploded. Although, he glances up at the angel's as a thought came to him, he didn't really want to leave his sleeping brother with them, he just didn't trust them.

If he didn't get out of the room, he would lose it. He wondered if angel's drank. If he got them to go to the bar with him, at least he could keep an eye on them. Even if they were the last people on earth that he would ever want to drink with.

Chuck dammit.

Gabriel stands up, his stiff joints aching from being stuck in the same position for hours. He was only 25 for chuck's sake, but right now his body felt like it was 60.
"Hey, uh," Gabriel grabbed his lucky green jacket, trying keep his tone neutral. "I'm heading out for drinks, you two should come." Ugh, no going back now. He couldn't wait until this case was done.

Sam just stares at him, looking as though Gabriel had spoken in another language. Stupid angel, he had probably never had a drink. Good chuck, angel's were boring. Dean, on the other hand, seemed to be excited by the idea.

"I'm in," Dean stood up, stretching.
Gabe had to admit, he had never seen an angel as laid back and relaxed as Dean. Most of them held themselves stiffly and talked as though they had a stick up their ass. Sam, for example, looked as though he wasn't used to his height yet, he was extremely clumsy for an angel. Gabriel had watched the more formal angel trip random things - and even his own feet - a hundred times over the course of the night and it was hilarious.

"I don't know..." Sam still didn't look sure. Hell, he looked like the idea of going out for drinks was some foreign concept. Well, Gabriel found himself determined to bring this stiff angel over to the human side a bit. Sam needed to loosen up.

"Come brother, we can't always be working."

Sam bitch faced his brother. "Actually we can, we don't need to sleep - or drink."

Gabriel rolled his eyes. "Please, are you afraid you won't be able to handle a few drinks." He hoped that Sam, like most angels, wanted nothing more than to prove humans wrong.

Sure enough, a challenging look fills Sam's eyes. "Fine. I'll come."

Gabriel hides his smug smirk, turning instead to grab his wallet. "Then what are we waiting for? Apocalypse take two?"

~~~
Gabriel drank deeply from his drink, closing his eyes. Thank chuck. Dean was already two drinks in, Gabriel couldn't help but admire the angel's drinking ability.
Sam, on the other hand, was still nursing his almost full first beer, glowering at the bar. Gabriel fought the urge to roll his eyes again. Obviously Sam, unlike his brother, did not know how to have fun. Gabriel was starting to get the idea that Dean was the 'black sheep' of the angel's. At least he didn't act like he had a stick up his ass. Not that that meant that Gabriel was going to trust him any more.
"You know, Samoose, that beer is meant for drinking, not cradling like its some baby." Gabriel motioned to the bartender for another, draining the last of his whiskey.
"I really don't see the point in drinking." Sam mutters, looking very much like a child who didn't get his own way, pout and all.
"Yeah? Its called relaxing, surely you must know what that is."
"I do, and it isn't drinking, I like to sit quietly."
Wow, Gabriel literally couldn't think of a more boring thing to do. "Sounds... great."
"Sammy is serious, all he does is sit up on cliffs and shit, watching birds or whatever," Dean grabbed his third beer, "I've been trying to get him to lighten up for years."
"Oh because taking advice on how to relax from the guy who is always being locked up is such a good idea."
"Woah, Heaven has a prison?"
Sam breaths out slowly. "Kind of, yes, for angels who go... bad I guess you could say."
"Or for angels who are just having a bit of fun."
"You killed humans."
"I mean, I didn't mean for that to happen, I didn't realize that dancing for days on end would kill people!"
Gabriel raised his eyebrows.
"I still don't think I deserved to be locked away for so long, simply for having a bit of fun."
Ah, a man Gabriel could relate to. "Okay boys, enough bitching, how about lets see how many shots you angels can handle?"
Sam looked unsure, but Dean was already nodding eagerly.
Gabriel orders the first round, grinning despite himself. This night could turn out interesting after all.
It took five rounds of shots before Gabriel started to feel fully drunk. That, plus the whiskeys, left him leaning against the bar and laughing at something Dean had said.
Sam, who had reluctantly taken part but didn't feel the affects of alcohol as strongly as a mere human did, was sitting nearby with an expressionless look on his face.
"You know, Moose, you need to... to lighten up." Gabriel leaned against the bar next to Sam. "You... you're always so..." Gabriel frowned, trying to think of the right word.
"Serious?" Dean suggests, grinning.
"Yes! Serious, you are soooo serious."
"And you are drunk." Sam raises an eyebrow at Gabe. "Maybe you should go back to the motel and sleep."
Gabriel laughed, "are you trying to get me into bed with you Sammy?" For some reason, Gabriel thought this was hilarious, and doubled over with laughter.
Sam's cheeks visibly redden, which only makes Gabe laugh harder. "No, I am most certainly not."
Gabriel sucks in a deep breath of air, still giggling slightly. "Its a shame you're so..." Gabriel trails off, frowning as he tries to remember what he was going to say. His head just felt so foggy. "You're hot moose, shame you're..."
Sam was bright red now, looking mortified. Dean was howling with laughter. Gabriel stands up, feeling woozy. "Okay I think I want to head back now."
He takes a moment to steady himself, blinking as his vision blurs slightly. Once he is certain that he won't fall over, he takes a moment to wink at Sam (don't ask why, it just seemed like a great thing to do) and promptly walks straight into someone.
"Woah buddy, watch where you're..." Gabriel frowned, trying to get his thoughts in order as he steps back and looks up at the guy. The guy with very black eyes. "Aw shit, really man?" Gabriel grabs his demon blade, willing his body to sober up. "Hunter's never get a night off."
"Don't worry, it will be your last." The demon smirks, knife in hand. Someone nearby screams, clearly noticing the two men holding knives.
"Yeah?" Gabriel blinks, wobbling slightly, "we'll see about that."
The demon lunges at him, stabbing the knife at Gabriel's stomach. Gabriel jumps to the side at the last moment, stumbling over a chair. Sam stepped in then, delivering a swift punch to the demons throat. A women jumps forward, eyes black and leaps at Sam. Dean hurries to help his brother, angel blade flashing in the low light of the bar.
Getting his feet back steady under him, Gabriel rejoins the fight. The first demon was about to bring his blade down into Sam's back. Gabe tackled him to the ground. The demon punched him in the jaw, causing Gabriel's head to snap back. Gabe feels the cold edge of a blade graze his ribs, and twists out of the way. Before the demon gets a chance to go at him again, he brings his blade down and stabs it right through the demon's chest. Breathing heavily, he stands up from the now lifeless body and feels as though he was on a ship. The entire room shifted, why did he even drink? Never again...
Bright light fills the room, and Gabe looks up in time to see Sam had killed the other demon with his angel mojo. The bar was mostly empty, a few terrified looked customers peering out from behind a booth. Gabe nodded to the angels, they had proven helpful after all. The adrenaline from the fight had helped fight off most of the effects of the alcohol, and as Gabriel's mind began to clear, he could only think of getting back to his brother.
