perhaps the ocean collects everything
We woke up at 5:30 AM
To watch the sun like a red jem
Rise from the ocean a mile away
For we were at a small beach hotel to stay
Walking ahead of my siblings
My puffy clothes flapping like wings
In the balmy ocean breeze
Walking drowsily with ease
Walk past the wall of another hotel
On the ground there are broken seashells
And I hear the oceans thunder
And as I near the shore my mind starts to wander
I feel an adrenaline rush
As my toes brush
The yellow sand pink in the sunrise light
The sky painted heavily pink and orange bright
The waves slice through the air tall and sharp
The ocean's sound seems to be from a siren's harp
The waves shrink as they reach the shore
Where they would subside and be gone evermore
Perhaps in these ocean waves
We can feel within us waves
Waves caused when ocean waves give us memories
Of salt wind and seashells and seaweed leaves
How strange that is, for this is the first time visiting and ocean
but it almost gives me a nostalgic emotion
Perhaps the waves collect tears and shattered dreams
Of those broken and wilted who had lost their dreams
Perhaps when we leave this world our memories into the ocean they go
And forever they'll stay even as the days come and go
Perhaps the ocean collects everythin
All our emotions and possessions and other things
Perhaps the ocean has our history and its own
Collects them even of one small and alone
Perhaps...
