Aarav's POV

I was shocked to know that she has being attacked by a few of my enemies. I eyed her and touched her hand, she jerked away and shouted "Aarav I am done with all this!" 

"Manvi, just calm down we can sort this out," I said calmly. 

"I don't need to sort out anything Aarav! this marriage needs to end.." she said firmly. 

I was left in complete disbelief hearing her words. "Manvi this is not the solution I will look into the matter," I said

Manvi moved to the bathroom and closed the door with a bang. I sighed deeply, I noticed a lot changed in her behavior since the day I had returned from my mission. I tried my best to mend my relationship with her and she again had issued with my duty. 

I remembered a conversation we had during our college days. 

She was sitting on the stairs and I sat down beside her after attending my lecture. I snatched the book from her hand and she glared at me "Aarav.. you are late" she complained. 

"just a minute late," I said kissing her cheeks. 

She smiled and asked, "So where are we going today?" 

"wherever you say" I replied. 

"movie then shopping and dinner at my place," she said with excitement. 

I took out my wallet from my pocket and checked for the amount of cash. She hits my hand lightly "we are sharing.." 

I smiled at her and we headed for the day. She glanced at me and asked, "Aarav do you want to tell me something?" 

I looked at her surprisingly "how did you know?" 

"come on I know you for two years.. tell me what is the matter?" she asked placing her hands around my neck. 

"I have cleared my IAS exam and I am going for the training" I shared with excitement as it was my dream to serve the nation and be a public servant. 

Her eyes shined hearing me and she hugged me tightly "Oh my god! you will be my chikna inspector" 

I sighed deeply and hugged her back. She parted the hug and asked, "what if someday someone attacks me and I don't return home?" 

She kept her finger on my lips and said "Shut up Aarav! you are brave, smart and no criminal can dare to shoot you" 

"you know I might have enemies who will try to harm you," I said.

"you will be there to protect me always! till you are with me I have no fears" she said and pulled me into her embrace. 

I came out trance of my thoughts, I found her sleeping turning her face to another side. I slid down to the other side and thought of speaking to her in the morning. 

The next morning, I woke up and looked at my side. The bed was empty, I got up and glanced at the bathroom door it was open. I got off the bed and moved out of the bedroom. I heard the noise from the kitchen and it seemed she was preparing breakfast. 

I commenced towards the kitchen and she glared at me. She picked up her coffee cup and walked out ignoring me. I followed her and held her wrist "Manvi.. please" 

She jerked my hand off "I don't want to speak anything Aarav! go and do your duty! leave me alone" she yelled 

I sighed deeply, my phone ranged and I picked it up from the dining table. I answered the call "yea Shinde.." 

"Sir.. It's a very high-profile case! we need you" he said. 

Aarav eyed Manvi for a moment, I replied "I will be there soon" 

I walked towards my room and went to the bathroom for a bath. After 15 minutes, I stepped out and wore my uniform. I placed my gun to the side of the belt and headed towards the exit. 

I eyed back at her and she was scrolling through her phone. I sighed deeply and thought of booking the trip soon. This might cheer her up and I will get time to find out who was behind the attack on her last night. 

I took my bike keys and moved out. I sat on my bike and headed toward the police station. Within 20 minutes I arrived and parked my bike. I got inside and everyone saluted me. 

I glanced at the inspector and said "find out yesterday who attacked my wife.. " 

"yes Sir!" he agreed. 

I moved to my chamber and sat on my chair. There were a few case files and I began to read them. 

About after an hour, Alisha walked into my cabin and I smiled at her "hey Alisha"

Alisha noticed the sadness behind my smile and asked "What's wrong Aarav?" 

"it's Manvi.. she wants to end our marriage because she thinks her life is in danger always because of me" I shared with her. 

She is our common friend and nothing is hidden from her. She had witnessed our friendship, then love, and the marriage. Alisha kept her hand on mine and said "Aarav.. relax everything will be fine" 

"I don't know Alisha! how can she think of parting away with me??" I said in disbelief. 

Alisha tends to think something and said "Aarav.. you love her a lot right?" 

"yes I do.. and I can't let her go," I said with a smile on my face. 

"I know.. just take her out she will be fine" Alisha suggested. 

I nodded yes and asked her to book a holiday for us. She agreed and soon left the police station.  A new case was reported and I left the sight with my team. I received an email and a smile curved up my lips, Alisha had booked a week's holiday trip for us to Goa. 

She loves such places and this will melt her anger toward me. I glanced at Shinde and asked, "did you find out who was behind the attack?" 

"Sir I have checked the CCTV footage they were masked so it's really difficult to identify them," Shinde said. 

"I don't care.. just find out who are they.. how dare they harm my family" I fumed in anger. 

At Home

Manvi was sitting on the couch and sipping coffee. Her phone beeped, she checked it and there was a message from Sameer. "I hope you are fine! please try to forget yesterday's incident.. and call me any time" he said. 

A smile curved up her lips reading the message. She replies "Thanks Sameer.. You saved my life again! I love you" 

"not more than me beautiful.. can we meet tomorrow?" He asked. 

I agreed "yes.. pick me up tomorrow at 3 pm" 

"Done! and wear that dress which I gifted you last month" He messaged and sent kisses emojis. 

I smiled and agreed to his demand. 

Here, I had been busy with the case. Shinde entered the cabin with an envelope in his hand "Sir this is for you" 

"What is it?" I questioned. 

"I don't know Sir" he replied. 

I held the envelope from him and kept it to the side as I had a very much important case to solve. 

My phone rings and I picked it up "yea Alisha" 

"Aarav I booked the tickets! have a lot of fun and make sure you return with good news!" she said with excitement. 

A smile curves up my lips "thanks, Alisha!" 

"it was my pleasure" Alisha replies and ends the call. 

Shinde asked, "mam is angry sir?" 

"very much" I replied.  

"My wife stays angry with me 24 hours sir!" Shinde replies. 

I questioned, "how do you handle her?" 

"We are habitual of it now! Just one night of love and her anger fades away.." Shinde said. 

I smiled hearing him but my matter was different. My wife was attacked, and I wondered who dared to die from my gun. 

Shinde leaves the room and I am engrossed in the case again. About an hour, I had been tired and decided to resume my work tomorrow morning. 

I picked up the envelope and it had written "Aarav Malhotra" I took it with me and moved out of the police station. I sat inside the jeep and the constable drove off to my home. 

I called the commissioner and informed him that I am taking leave for a few days. He agreed as I had recently completed a big mission. 

I thought the trip will melt her anger toward me and we will again get closer to each other.
