'Kaylin, Red, breakfast is ready!' Serena shouted as she set a plated down on the table. Serena began to wash the dishes and heard footsteps running down the stares. Kaylin emerged into the dining hall eagerly to begin eating. 'Yes! My favourite!' Kaylin squealed and started to munch down on her breakfast.

Serena smiled as she watched Kaylin eat. Serena looked at her watch, the time read; 7:45 am. 'Where is your brother?' Serena asked looking at Kaylin. However the young 14 year old girl shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat. 'Helpful aren't you.. after you finish get ready we are going to get late for school!' Serena said patting Kaylin's head. 'Okay mom!' Kaylin giggled.

Serena left the kitchen and headed up the stairs towards Red's bedroom. She knocked twice but got no response. She then opened the door and saw a young boy with black hair sleeping with silent snores escaping his mouth. 'He reminds me a lot like Ash' Serena sighed. She grabbed his bottle and poured droplets onto his face, causing him to stir and sit up with a bolt.

'Can you not pour water please!' Red said angrily. 'Then get your lazy bum off that bed and get ready, you have school' Serena said sternly. 'What about dad, he still in bed?' Red said with a hint of anger. Serena recognised it and sat down next to him. 'Honey, what's wrong?' Serena asked in a sweet tone. 'Nothing, it's nothing' Red said looking away from Serena. 'Come on Red tell me' Serena said grabbing the boys hand. 'Dad.. he always keeps to himself. And I don't like it' Red revealed looking at Serena. Serena didn't respond as lately Ash has been acting strange and secretive.

'Then try and talk to him, try and sort it out, kay? Now get ready breakfast is on the table!' Serena said holding his chin. Red smiled and hugged Serena, 'thanks mom' he gave a toothy grin. Serena withdrew smiling back at him before going back downstairs.

Kaylin was already at the door with her shoes and hat on. 'Come on Mom, let's go school!' Kaylin said eagerly. 'Woah calm down, we have to wait for Red' Serena replied heading back into the kitchen to finish off with the washing. However she didn't notice Red coming down and instantly finishing his breakfast, 'Mom let's go, I want to choose my starter as well!' Red said with an air of excitement.

'Alright, alright let me grab my jacket and we'll start going' Serena said. She grabbed her pink winter coat and wore boots, as the setting was the start of December and the weather in Pallet had been snowy. 'Alright kids let's go!' Serena said. The trio exited the house before meeting up with Drew and May, who were taking their daughter, Rose to school as well.

'Morning guys!' Serena said walking up to the other family. 'Ah Serena good to see you!' May said and the two girls embraced in a hug. 'Uncle Drew!' Kaylin and Red exclaimed. Kaylin gave him a hug as Red done a handshake. 'Have you seen the others?' Serena asked.

'No, Dawn took her son early. Misty had a battle in Cerulean Gym and Shauna also went early with Selene' May said. 'Hey where's Ash?' Drew asked. 'He went early in the morning to train, so he should be back by the time we come back' Serena said, she then looked at her watch and realised they were behind schedule.

'Oh no, we might get late at this rate!' Rose said, who was a brown haired 14 year old girl, close friends with Kaylin. 'Let's fly then, Serena do you have a flying type?' May asked. 'Yeah Ash normally leaves his Charizard with me' Serena replied.

After a few minutes the two families got onto their respective flying types and flew of the Viridian City.

'Pass that flower Pikachu' Ash said. Pikachu waddled over to Ash and gave him a pink flower. 'This was mom's favourite ' Ash said trying to keep his sadness inside him. He then placed the flower on top of the snow filled grave. Greninja walked up to Ash, and put his hand on his shoulder. 'Master it's okay..' Greninja said trying to reassure him.

'I know.. but it's my fault they died' Ash said. When he said that, a clear image came into his mind, of the night his parents fell of Flare tower. Ash flinched as they got nearer to the ground. 'Alright guys now we need a red flower, so go search for one' Ash said to his two trusty and faithful partners. Whilst they were gone, Ash continued to stare at the graves, with melancholy and regret.

Suddenly cold and bony hands fell on top of the grave. Ash jumped up and looked at the figure. It was like the one he has seen the other night but only transparent. 'Look what you have done to me Ketchum!' The figure hissed. Ash's mind began to lose its control. His body slowly motioned towards the figure. They were a centimetre apart from each other.

'Time to return the favour' The figure grabbed Ash's head and put it into his own before submerging into Ash's body. Great amounts of force was given off sending Ash flying into a tree. His vision was dizzy but he could feel the control of his brain again. Once the vision was fine Ash looked around, he could see everything in X-rays. Through the ground he saw the bodies of his mother and father lying motionless bringing back the memories

'BOO!' Gary jumped down from a tree in front of Ash. Ash didn't flinch but blinked. The vision had become normal, there was no x-rays or anything just the ground covered in snow and a sweating Gary in front of him.

'You should know your pranks won't work on me ever' Ash said in a cocky voice. 'Someone's confident.. anyways what are you doing here?' Gary asked. 'Oh just putting down flowers..' Ash said his voice trailing off. 'LOOK Ketchum.. you can't blame your self for their death. You done everything you can!' Gary said shaking Ash hoping to convince him. Ash felt his body be controlled. 'I didn't do ENOUGH!'Ash screamed the last words. Gary was taken aback and took a few steps back.

Once Ash regained himself, he realised what he had done and instantly said sorry for his actions, 'Sorry.' Gary stared at him for a few seconds, contemplating wether he saw an some-thing or not. 'See just forget the past.. i bet you 50 poke dollars your parents don't blame you at all!' Gary said. Ash smiled in return and thanked Gary.

After a few seconds Greninja with the yellow mouse on his shoulder came back with a fresh rose. 'Here you go master' Greninja handed Ash the rose. Ash took the rose and gently placed it next to the pink one. 'Well once again I'm sorry' Ash said and got back up and wiped the snow off his trousers and jacket.

'Alright Ashy boy let's go back to yours, I'm starving' Gary said and started to drag Ash back. 'I thought you said you were gonna stop calling me Ashy boy' Ash said annoyed. 'I'm Gary Oak, I do what I want mate!' Gary said. 'I'm Ash Ketchum and I punch Gary Oak!' Ash punched Gary on the arm and ran off. 'Come back Ketchum!' Gary said irritated and ran after Ash.

Ash began to slow down as his house came into view. He turned back and saw Gary catching up. So Ash started to run to the house. As he reached the gate a hand stopped him. 'Stop!' Ash looked up and saw Serena standing there looking irritated as well. 'Ash you.. c-come back h-here now!' Gary crawled to Ash's legs and grabbed them but let go as he was too tired. Gary got up and saw Serena, 'Hey Serena!' He said. Serena looked at him angrily. 'Umm, okay.. I think I'll be leaving' Gary said before tip toeing out of the lawn and running to his house.

'Ash we need to talk!' Serena said, which made Ash concerned. They entered the living room. Serena sat down and motioned Ash to sit next to her. 'Okay so what is it?' Ash asked.

'It's about Red' Serena said in concern. 'What about him?' Ash looked at Serena, not knowing what was going on. 'He suspects you are not open with him and I've also suspected that as well. Also your not engaging with him as much anymore' Serena said. 'I'm trying to be open and I'm trying to engage with Red' Ash said.

'Okay, where were you this morning?' Serena asked. She stared at Ash examining him at most. 'Training' Ash replied quickly and nervously. 'And somewhere else' Serena said. She picked up a petal from his hair and held it in front of him. 'Okay fine, I went to my parents grave!' Ash said.

'Look Ash...' Serena started but was cut off. 'Yes I know! I made them proud and I did everything I can blah blah blah! Well you know what!' Ash began to feel the anger sensation build up in him. 'I should have been the one that died!' Ash screamed. Serena was taken aback with the sudden rage. Tears started to form in her eyes. She got up and began to walk away.

Ash soon regained his visions and realised what he had done. It felt like de ja vu. He grabbed Serena's hand and got up. He hugged her from behind and whispered an apology in her ear, 'I'm sorry, I know you were just trying to help' He then kissed her on the cheek. Serena turned to face him and looked him straight in the eyes. Pikachu and Greninja noticed what was happening so they slowly backed out of the room and to the garden.

'Don't ever do that again, okay?' Serena said inching her head closer to Ash's. 'Okay' Ash said and felt Serena's lips press against his. He deepened the kiss as the duo fell onto the couch and started to make out.

'I love you Ash!'

'I love you too' Ash said and both of them kissed and lengthened it making it one to savour.

Next time...

'Happy 10th birthday Red!' Serena wished along with the others. Red smiled at everyone and looked at the partner he had chosen at his school. Speaking of school, Red remembered his day..

'Your Ash's son!'

'OMG! It's the hero's son!'

Many people witnessed Red as he walked past them with Kaylin and Rose. 'Hey I have a name you know!'

Red snapped out of his thoughts and back to his present location. He spotted Ash in the corner in deep conversation with Pikachu and Serena, as Greninja was entertaining the other younger kids. Red approached the trio and looked at Serena. She gave him a nod, 'Ash I'm going to the toilet yeah..' Serena then walked off towards the ladies.

'Hey dad, can we talk?' Red asked hop-efully. Ash looked up at his son, 'sure thing kiddo!' Ash replied. The duo then walked towards the exit of the house. They walked a few meters before sitting on a hill which overlooked the town of Pallet.

'So what do you want to talk about?'

'Um well you see..'

Well there you have it guys, the first chapter of the sequel!
