So, I found this image and I couldn't help but start brainstorming. I'm going for a beach setting, I dont know what Alola looks like so beach story seemed like the best idea. I assume I am one of many people that hopes Serena will go to Alola with Ash. With this oneshot I can make a point as well. Alot of people consider it unlikely that Ash's companions would go to another region with him. Well I got one word for those people. Brock. Anyway I hope you guys enjoy this oneshot.

Alola is a vibrant and unique tropical region teeming with all sorts of Pokemon. No wonder it became the region of choice for Ash's next journey. However, he was not alone...

It had been three days since Ash and Serena had set down in the Alola region on their flight from Kanto. They were staying in a coastal hotel and they were both reminiscing about the events of the past couple weeks.

It was tough to say goodbye to their Lumiose friends Bonnie and Clemont but they all knew they would always be the best of friends and they would carry fond memories of their travels.

Ash invited Serena to come to Kanto for old times sake. It reminded him of the fact that he invited her along at the start of their journey. It was an interesting experience for both of them.

2 Weeks Prior:

Ash knocked on the door of his home in Pallet Town. He glanced at Serena who was slightly nervous. How could she not be when her crush was about to reintroduce her to his mother?.

After a few moments, the door opened and standing in the doorway was a brown haired women with a bright pink top and a huge smile. Within moments Delia Ketchum grappled her son into a hug nearly knocking his furry partner off his shoulder.

This caught Serena by surprise but she began to chuckle at Ash's flustered expression. He clearly wasn't expecting that. After a few moments they both retracted and Delia turned to meet the honey blonde's gaze after giving Pikachu a short greeting.

Serena was shocked for two reasons, she saw that Ash's mother had the same auburn pearls that she loved to admire in Ash's eyes. Also, she was dragged into a hug as well.

"Ash is this who I think it is?" Delia queried with pleasant awe. "Mum, this is Serena, the one from summer camp." Serena bowed her head politely. "Great to see you again Miss Ketchum." Serena spoke up with a greeting smile.

"Oh please call me Delia. It's been too long. Ash didn't stop talking about his little friend with the straw hat from camp." Ash began to blush slightly. Serena giggled but in her mind she was loving the thought of being Ash's focus at one point.

"Mum, your embarrassing me!" Ash complained. Pikachu began to snicker now on Delia's shoulder. Ash pouted at his partner who ignored the glare from his trainer. Serena couldn't help but be entertained by the scene.

"So, are you two boyfriend and girlfriend then? Your the first girl my Ash has brought home you know Serena. Oh my boys growing up." Delia stated with a smirk. Serena and Ash simultaneously exploded into a flush of red. "Mum, just shut up." Ash tried to act annoyed but was obviously too embarrassed.

Serena was of course very embarrassed to but she did notice something... Ash didn't exactly play down the idea of the two of them being in a relationship. But thats just cos he is too dense right?

Present Time:

Those words made Ash think though. Would it be bad to have a girlfriend? He was getting older. He invited Serena back home subconsciously but what was the real reason? His mum did make a good point. Now he wasn't really sure how he felt towards Serena.

He sat there in the hotel room which he and Serena shared. They didnt need much space. A two bed room did them just fine. As usual Ash came to the new region with just Pikachu. Serena followed suit and only brought Braixen.

Ash had been lost in thought because he didn't realise Serena enter the room. She watched him for a moment and a grin crept on her face. She made her way towards him slowly and quietly intent on jump scaring him. When Pikachu looked up at her, she put her finger to her lips and he understood.

She got closer to Ash by going around his bed. He was sat on the end of it. Serena jumped in front of Ash and yelled 'Boo!' Ash was so stunned that he shot up and inadvertently head-butted Serena. It wasn't that hard but they both rubbed their heads.

Ash opened his eyes to see Serena pouting at him. "I knew you were hardheaded bur wow Ash." "Sorry about that Serena." Ash said rubbing the back of his neck. Pikachu sighed and then they both laughed happily.

"Any idea what we can spend the day doing?" Ash asked inquisitively. Serena thought for a moment. Alola was a tropical region with 4 unique islands. Ash and Serena were on the coastal resort island although its biggest attraction... "Let's have a beach day!" Serena suggested with a happy, eager smile.

Ash liked the idea, they hadn't been doing anything major and for him it was an excuse to hang out with Serena. "Sure that sounds like a ton of fun."

Ash went into the bathroom to get changed while Serena did the same in the main bedroom. When they were both done, they proceeded out. Ash looked at Serena's new look. Shopping was her thing. "Stylish as ever Serena." Ash said with a grin. "Aw, thanks Ash." Serena replies with small blush.

Ash was wearing a black cap with a square white pokeball icon. He wore a blue and white striped T shirt with black shorts with red pockets. He also had a black and blue rucksack.

Serena wore a pink beanie with a similar icon over her shortened honey blonde hair, a shirt with yellow and pink flower patterns tied off at her waist and a blue skirt. She also carried a pink and black bag.

On the way to the beach through the resort they came across all sorts of Alolan Pokemon. There was a small petting zoo where Serena stopped to pet a Mudbray and feed it some special food. Ash wanted to stop for a second when his laces came untied at one point.

When Ash paused and leaned against a 'palm tree' with Serena next to him he began to tie his laces. Just as he finished he was nudged into Serena and it looked like the two were hugging. Both of them began to blush and then they shifted their gazes to the tree which began to shift.

The tree turned down and looked at the blushing couple. "Exeggcutor." The tree bellowed. "Wow an exeggcutor, never seen one like this. Its neck is huge." Ash said with admiration. "Um Ash?" Serena whispered. Ash turned to her and realised why she was so quiet. He was still hugging her.

Ash quickly pulled away. "Uh sorry." He said still blushing wildly. The Exeggcutor made a deep sound like a laugh and then shifted and moved away from the two. Ash and Serena looked at one another and shrugged. Their blushes had now faded.

They continued on their way to the beach and were there within a few minutes. The beach was mostly unpopulated with a few people here and there. Pokemon could be seen roaming the beach though whether they were wild or tame they could not decide.

The sun seemed to boast its own strength by bathing the sand dunes in its heated glow. "The weather is perfect today." Serena beamed.

After a little while Ash and Serena were resting on their own blankets in the sun soaking up the rays. All of a sudden Serena felt a cold wet object nudging her side. When she sat up to see what was causing the sensation she squealed in delight.

Ash immediately shot up thinking something was troubling her but his fears were quite literally frozen. To Serena's right was an Alolan Vulpix, a baby judging from its size. An Alolan Ninetales watched carefully from a reasonable distance. They were both an icy shade of white.

"You are such a cutie." Serena squeaked while getting out her Kalosian Pokedex. When it gave data about Vulpix, the image showed a red Vulpix instead.

Confused, Serena turned to Ash. "Ash, the Pokedex is showing something different, do you know what's up?" "Well, this might be like that Exeggcutor, maybe the Pokemon in Alola come in new or different forms." Ash explained with some certainty in his own words.

The Vulpix had a breath like snow. It sent shivers down Serena's leg. Within moments it retreated to its parents side and they both strolled down the beach. Serena and Ash watched them as they went curious as to what other surprises this region has in store.

When the white fox Pokemon were out of sight, Serena turned back to Ash. "Hey, why dont we go for a swim, its really hot and it might be a good way to cool off." Serena suggested. Ash happily agreed and the two proceeded to the changing rooms.

Braixen and Pikachu waited outside and Braixen was clearly not up for the whole swimming idea being a fire type. Ash was out first and he was wearing a classic pair of trunks. He was really beginning to feel the heat. He put his hand over his forehead to block the sun and looked at the ocean. In the distance, he could make out several unknown water types as well as a few familiar ones.

Ash felt someone tap on his shoulder. When hw turned he saw Serena was ready as she was wearing her bikini. She stood with a slight blush plastered on her face. "How do I look?" She asked hopefully. Ash just stared at her blankly. He was blushing but to make it more embarrassing his left nostril trickled a small nosebleed.

Serena looked concerned. "Ash your bleeding!" She exclaimed which snapped Ash from his daze. "No its nothing I'm fine!" He yelled turning away with a blush and wiping his nose. He was confused at his reaction, he had seen plenty of his friends in bikinis, what made Serena different?

Serena wasn't entirely sure what that was about but she was also blushing from Ash's toned figure. All that training he does with his Pokemon and travelling seems to have benefitted him more than she realised.

After they both recovered they decided to enter the ocean for a swim. The water was much cooler then the weather so it was highly refreshing. Braixen stayed on the sand and Pikachu decided to keep her company so it was just Ash and Serena going for a swim.

They were in water which was about knee deep. Ash was interacting with one of the Pokemon he saw before. He had no clue what it was. (AN, neither do I) Serena snuck up behind him and splashed him with a large amount of water scaring the Pokemon away.

Ash smirked when he looked behind him. Serena stood there with an innocent expression but a cute smile. "She's adorable but I can't let her get away with that." He thought. So he splashed her back and laughed at her pouty expression. Then they both broke into a splash fight for a few minutes.

After a little while, both Ash and Serena were a little tired. They both stood in the water panting with their hands to their knees. "Well, that was exhausting." Serena said exasperatedly. Ash was too tired to agree, he simply nodded. He glanced at Serena and seemed almost mesmerised by her. He admired the way her honey blonde hair seemed to glow from being wet. She nearly outshined the solar giant above them.

Serena couldn't help but notice Ash seemed to be staring at her alot, not that she minded, she still couldn't get over his figure. She began to blush ever so slightly and shook of those strange thoughts. "We should head back to shore, looks like Pikachu and Braixen are getting bored." They both chuckled and Ash followed Serena.

After a few feet, Serena caught her foot and ended up falling forwards. Ash's quick reflexes kicked in and he grabbed her arm in attempt to stop her. They both stumbled for a moment but Serena had gained too much momentum and they both fell.

Ash landed atop Serena but luckily she lost most of her momentum so the fall didn't really hurt and it was cushioned from the water. They recovered quickly and Ash met Serena's gaze. "Are you ok?" He asked in concern. They were both lost in each others eyes and mere inches apart.

Just as they both began to move in slowly, they were stopped when many Alomomola and Luvdisc surrounded the pair. "What..." Ash stuttered. Serena was just as shocked. The Luvdisc began swimming around both of them in a circle almost like they were protecting them. The Alomomola dis the same seeing of they were injured.

"Luvdisc tends to swim around love couples so what are they..."Serena started but then immediately started blushing intensely. The Luvdisc happily swam around making cute sounds as if approving of the two. Ash heard her words and began blushing as well.

They looked at each other and their blushes intensified when they realised they were still in the awkward position they fell in...literally. Ash got up and helped up Serena, they stood there, watching the school of Luvdisc surrounding them still red. Ash was still holding on to Serena's hand.

They made their way back to shore. "Um, I'm sorry about that." Ash started but Serena was quick to reply. " No its fine... I'm...im going to go change. Come on Braixen." Serena walked off to the changing area leaving Ash and Pikachu. Ash was confused for a moment and decided to make his way to the changing area to.

Serena was sat in the changing room with Braixen now back in her normal clothes. "It was so embarrassing Braixen, although his blush was absolutely adorable. I wonder if he knows about why the Luvdisc came. Its my fault but it was hard not to enjoy it. We nearly kissed."

Serena explained every little detail to Braixen. She was not afraid to confide in Braixen because she knew about her crush and girl gossip was hard without Bonnie. Braixen happily listened of course.

"I really like him Braixen, he's amazing and I jumped with joy when he asked me to come with him. Palermo told me to follow my heart after all." Little did Serena know a certain someone had heard the whole thing and his eyes widened in surprise from this news.

Ash was shocked, Serena liked him, maybe he didn't need to be confused about these new feelings after all. He was really happy that he could return Serena's affection and yet... Something felt wrong. He didn't know how to express it.

An hour or so later, both of them were sat together watching the ocean but it was a tense silence. Ash did what he did best acted direct. He was determined to break the tension. "Serena, I heard what you said in the changing rooms..." Ash said with uncertainty. Serena snapped her head towards Ash. "You heard all that..." She muttered with a blush.

"Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise." Ash said now looking at Serena. She chuckled. Ash raised his eyebrow. "Really? After the amount of hints I dropped." Ash thought for a moment, when he concentrated he did realise Serena had always been particularly affectionate towards him. "Wow Im sorry I didn't realise earlier Serena."

Serena smiled at him. "Its not your fault your so dense." Then they both laughed. "How long have you felt this way?" Ash asked now devoted to the moment. "Since summer camp, you saved me, I kinda just fell for you... Literally." She giggled while rubbing her knee.

Ash put his hand on Serenas hand and took it off her knee. Still holding it, he looked into her eyes. "Lately though, I have been looking at you a bit differently ever since what mum suggested." Serenas eyes widened. "You mean..." "I think I like you to Serena." He said with as much confidence as he can muster. "You've liked me for so long sorry I didn't see earlier."

Serena tightened the grasp on his hand and leaned on his shoulder as they both looked out on the Alolan horizon. "Its alright, the best way for you to find out would have been from me." She pecked him on the cheek and they both blushed.

"I think this is gonna be my best journey yet." Ash stated as he pulled Serena closer.
