Sorry for any mistakes

It has been 1 month, and Ash had progressed to the semi finals by beating his opponents in the two legged ties. He had to overcome the likes of Alain in the quarter final to advance. In these ties it is a 3v3 match but the trainer gets to pick the battlefield. Ash has always chosen the open field one while his opponents have been mixed with all sorts - but being Ash he overcame any challenge possible.

His semi final opponent would be none other than Tierno. Tierno was feeling confident and used this to regain Serena's love - which would prove to be difficult. However Serena would try and play it off hoping he would stop but nothing seemed to work.

"Look - if I beat Ash. I am better so obviously you'd got out with me! And plus I've known you in Kalos before him" Tierno argued.

"I've known him since I was a little kid!" Serena replied and walked away from Tierno quickly looking for Ash but she couldn't find him anywhere. Even after making him realise she felt recently that Ash was getting a little distant away from the group. Normally before his matches he would be with the group for their luck but he just went straight to the dressing room and locked the doors.

"Why is he avoiding us? Did anyone one of us say anything to him?" Gary asked looking surprised. He then noticed a green haired girl coming out of Ash's changing room but she looked upset. Luckily for Serena she didn't notice.

"No, I don't think so... we've all been nice I think" Zack said equally confused. They then left the thoughts and headed towards their seat to watch the semi final commence. "I can't believe Tierno made it this far - I would have bet Alain to be here" Bonnie said.

"Yeah but I had to face Ash of all people in the quarter finals - and he well and truly beat me 6-2" Alain said. But he felt happy that he lost to Ash and not some rookie.

"I mean you knocked out his Sceptile and Lucario - his Lucario is up there with the likes of Greninja so you did pretty well" Clemont said assuring the trainer.

"Yeah I guess but his Pikachu is whole different level as well this year. Pikachu would struggle a little against my Charizard but he gave me a horrid time and well he wiped out the rest of my team" Alain said sweat dropping. Serena had remained quiet. She was feeling uneasy by this Ash business and sat on her seat worried.

"Calm down... I think Ash is just as worried for his battle because he can finally prove himself from all those accusations. Probably this biggest challenge in his career" Zack said holding the blondie's hand.

"I don't know... but I guess your right." Serena said and looked towards the field as the two trainers emerged onto the scene.

"Welcome Ladies And Gentlemen to the first Semi Final match of the Battle royale - we are edging ever closer to the glory day but first we have another battle to watch before the finals! So would you please welcome, Tierno!! And Ash!"

Music started playing and fireworks were set off and the two trainers emerged walked to their podiums. Ash looked like his normal self while Tierno was taking in the crowds noise. They then did a coin toss to see who would pick the battle field first.

"Well ladies and Gentlemen - Tierno has won the toss and has elected Ash to choose the battlefield first" the announcer shouted. This surprised mostly everyone in the stadium. But Ash smiled and chose his usual open field stage, which Tierno smiled at.

"You will have to use three Pokémon for the first half - and then for the second half you will use your other set off 3 - is that clear?" The referee said to the two trainers who nodded.

"Release your Pokémon!"

"Blastoise, come out to fight!" Tierno Shouted and released the Kanto starter in its final evolution. Ash smirked and looked towards his partner. "Let's make this quick and efficient" Ash spoke through telepathy. Pikachu nodded.

"Pikachu, I choose you!" There was an air of silence - even though Pikachu had the advantage - people looked at the size of the two.

"Battle begin!"

"Hydro pump!"

"Thunder bolt on yourself!" Ash shouted and everyone gasped at his weird tactics - even Tierno looked surprised at what Ash was doing. Pikachu released the jet of electricity into the sky - in which it responded with a huge lightning bolt which enveloped Pikachu's body creating and electric veil.

As Blastoise attack hit Pikachu - it simply bounced back towards the Blastoise but with statics flying out. It was a direct hit on Blastoise who felt the paralysis start to kick in.

"Pikachu quick attacks and run around him!" Ash said. Pikachu started to run at a fast pace around the Blastoise who kept looking around. His bigger body meant he couldn't move as quick.

"Rapid spin and chase him!" Tierno called.

The water type engulfed itself into its shell and begin to spin on the spot before chasing Pikachu in circles. Then Pikachu used the space to its advantage and was sending the Blastoise left right and centre until it came out its shell feeling dizzy.

"Gigavolt Havoc!" Ash and Pikachu got into their dance position before a ball of electricity formed in Pikachu's hands.

"Quick use water gun" But since Blastoise was dizzy it's aim was off and completely missed Pikachu by miles and just then Pikachu released the energy which collided into the helpless and beaten water type.

"Blastoise is unable to battle - Pikachu win!" The ref announced. Pikachu squealed with Joy and hugged Ash.

"He's lost confidence now - so we finish this quickly" Ash whispered. Pikachu nodded and jumped back onto the battle field. He recognised that Tierno looked shocked and he felt like a fool with the over confidence.

"Blaziken, I need you!" Tierno gambled now and decided to use all of his strong Pokémon for the first half and hopefully gain momentum. Ash didn't know what to do as it was a speed vs speed battle.

"Second Battle begin!"

"Blaze kick - let's go!" Tierno Shouted and the speed was similar to Pikachu.

"Quick attack to get away then electro ball!" Ash shouted. Pikachu dodged the kick but Blaziken began to chase after it. Pikachu turned around and sent the ball of electricity which Blaziken easily kicked into the ground.

"Flamethrower!"

As Pikachu landed, it was off balance and couldn't avoid the attack. It was engulfed by the fire and pushed all the way back to Ash. Ash looked worried and shouted encouragement to Pikachu.

"Come on buddy - get up!" Ash Shouted. Pikachu struggled to its feet but managed to stand. Ash needed to reduce the movement of this Blaziken and to get the higher ground. He then saw the one tree that was present on the battlefield and instantly came up with an idea.

"Pikachu use Thunder in the sky!" Ash said. Pikachu obeyed and sent the move into the sky - which then returned with heavy rain fall. The grass then became damper and muddier which made it sticker and slippery for any quick movement. Also the rain began to affect the fire type as well.

"No we won't stand for this! Use quick attack!" Tierno Shouted. The fire type tried to run at Pikachu but was slower and slipped a few times. "Pikachu Iron tail on that tree and use the flying wood as your advantage!" Ash shouted.

Pikachu proceeded to hit the the tree and chunks of wood went flying into the air. Pikachu jumped from one another and saw the struggling Blaziken as it was practically stuck in the mud.

"Finish it with thunder!" Ash shouted.

Pikachu released its signature move with a direct headshot from above and it was an instant KO for Blaziken.

"Blaziken is unable to battle! Pikachu is the winner!" The ref announced and the crowd went wild by Ash's amazing strategies in both battles. Ash Now knew Tierno was down and out - his face told the story. Ash went on to win comfortably 6-0 against Tierno. It wasn't the same performance as Tierno's previous battles but he accepted the fact he was outclassed by Pikachu and Ash on the day.

"Hey Tierno Keep your head up and be happy at least you made it to the final four!" Ash said shaking his hand in the middle of the field.

"I studied your battles - that's why I let you go first but you clearly read my intentions so fair play" Tierno said and shook his hand back.

Later that day - the second semi final between Paul and Calem was concluded and Calem had pulled off one of the biggest shocks of the tournament. No one expected him to reach the final but Ash relished this and couldn't wait to send Calem into a retirement home on final day.

But right now, he knew Calem had planned something and waited for it - and he had a hunch of what it was. So he decided to avoid Serena and the others for a bit longer.

Speaking of Serena and the others - they were now in their hotel room. Sitting in the lounge discussing about today's events.

"Wow - Ash is truly amazing. How did he manage to think that quick!" Max said say dreaming about what he just saw.

"Yeah those tactics are world class" Gary admitted.

"But I'm still concerned about Ash - he hasn't come to us after the battle yet. Why is he avoiding us" Serena said getting distressed by the minute.

"Before the battle I did see a green haired girl come out of Ash's changing room but that could mean anything" Gary said. At this Serena knew something was wrong. She got up and grabbed her hat.

"Wait here And I'll go find Ash" She said and left the room. She quickly ran to the lift and searched for Ash in the lounge but didn't see him. She decided to go to the nearby park and saw a familiar hat. But what she saw next shattered her heart.

The hat covered the face of Ash but she could clearly see the two trainers kissing. And it was a green haired girl as Gary had mentioned before.

"Ash how could you!" Serena started to cry and ran further into the park.

Chapter 31: Break Up:
After seeing what Serena saw - Ash returns to the hotel and is confronted by Serena and someone that he despises very much - which then ultimately leads on to a break up of two close bonds... will it be repaired?
