'Welcome back everybody! Hope you guys are ready for some orienteering!' Sycamore shouted to the crowd that had turned up to participate. At least a hundred people had turned up to enter the contest. 'So let me explain what you have to do;
1st: you have to be in pairs or trios or you may also have the authority to be on your own.
2nd: you must stay in the zones, which are marked out on your maps - which will be handed shortly.
3rd: first one to collect all stamps and register it to me, right over here will win. Their prize is that they will have to pay for absolutely nothing for 2 months. ' after Sycamore finished reading out the rules, his assistants went around each candidates and handed them a map with a stamp sheet. Many people started to get into their serious faces as they all wanted that illustrious prize at the end.

'Okay now, you may pick the person you would like to work with' Sycamore said through the microphone. Shuffling went around the crowd as they searched for their partners. 'Hey Serena be with me!' Calem said eagerly. Before Serena could reply Calem forced her decision by dragging her away and confirm her as his partner. Serena looked towards Ash who was talking to a girl with green hair.

'Hey Ash great to see you here!' The green haired girl said. 'Surprised you don't hate me.. but always good to see you to Mallow!' Ash said shaking her hand. Zack looked up at the pair and noticed that Mallow was inching closer. He then turned around and spotted Serena looking. Zack stood still, but then thought of an idea.

'ACHOO!' He faked a sneeze in front of Mallow causing her to distance a little from Ash. 'Sorry about that, probably my hay-fever' Zack said in his act. He turned to see Serena who mouthed thank you before disappearing with Calem. 'It's okay.. anyway Ash I was wondering if we could be partners for this activity!' Mallow said in an enthusiastic tone. 'I would love to but I promised Zack I would stick with him.. so maybe next time' Ash replied hoping she wouldn't take it too hard. Instead she smiled, 'no problem! But good luck cause I'm gonna win!' Mallow said before walking off, goddamit that boy had to sneeze! I'll get him don't you worry!

'Well Zack are you ready to ace this!?' Ash said getting fired up. Zack also got pumped up with the energy Ash let out. They both gave high fives and walked back towards the crowd and Sycamore, but as usual Ash kept his distances from everyone to avoid the snarls and hate. 'Well everybody ready? Let the hunt begin!'

People started streaming out of the beach and into the direction of a thick forest on the outskirts of the island, where there was a huge mountain in the middle. 'Well Zack let's get the mountain one last, cause the other ones are easy so we'll take down the mountain last!' Ash said showing the different stamp locations on the map to Zack. 'Okay so where do we start off first?' Zack said scanning through the map for locations.

'Let's head to the crooked bridge, it's the closest from here so come on!' Ash started to sprint but he soon saw Zack go past him with ease. They both slowed down as they were approaching the bridge where they could here muffled voices. Once they came into the clear there was crooked and old wooden bridge which connected to the other side, which is where the stamp lay. However in front of them stood Ash's foes, as he regards them nowadays with Serena. Serena was in the thick of the conversation.

'I'm not going across that bridge!' She said angrily, she hadn't noticed Ash was here as well. 'Let me hold your hand, trust me you won't fall from my grip!' Calem said reassuringly. 'No way! I'm staying right here!' Serena said like a little child demanding sweets. 'Come on honey, Calem is not a bad boy.. give him a chance' Delia said. Serena was about to bust a nut but saw Ash's figure staring at them.

Delia immediately looked at Ash, as did the others. 'None of you should be forcing anyone. Let them make their own decisions' Ash said ignoring eye contacts with everyone but Serena. Serena looked at Ash, happy to see him. 'Who are you to tell us what to do with her! She is under our authority now!' May said with sass. Ash just gritted his teeth and took a long blink.

'Forget about him! Serena!' Calem grabbed her arm, and forced her back. Serena cried in pain. A nerve snapped inside of Ash after he heard Serena in pain. Pikachu jumped out of Ash's bag getting Ash's senses. He rushed at Calem and tackled him to the ground, before returning back to Ash. Serena then ran over to Ash and hid behind him. 'You Cousin F***ing dunce!' Ash shouted in anger at Calem. Delia rushed over and helped him up. Ash realised what he shouted and apologised to Zack for using language that isn't inappropriate for his age. 'Don't worry I've heard worse' Zack said, which really caught Ash and made him stare at the boy in pity.

'Oi who do you think you are!' Drew shouted angrily at Ash. Him and Gary slowly approached Ash. Ash didn't move, but held Zack close to him. 'Electabuzz use thunder' a voice from behind said. Gary and Drew both felt something tingle their spines before falling to the ground groaning in pain. A boy with purple hair stepped forward with an arrogant grin on his face.

'Paul!' Ash said in shock. He had no idea that he was still around after the whole scene 5 years ago. 'Yes it's me.. who else mate' Paul said approaching Ash. He reached out his hand and waited for Ash's grip to tighten on his hand. 'Seems like you've toned down your arrogance' Ash said shocked with the friendly behaviour from Paul. 'I've learnt my ways Ketchum and see you have learnt yours as well' He then shook Serena's hand, 'your lucky you have him' Paul said before walking past the lot.

'Well where are you going now?' Ash asked as Paul walked past him. 'To win this thing obviously!' Paul shouted as he crossed the bridge past the betrayers. Ash started to walk over to the bridge but felt something grab him from behind. 'Ash Ketchum!' It was professor Oak of all people standing there in a stern manner. 'Yes?' Ash asked. Professor Sycamore also came to the scene.

'I do not like what you have done to my grandson!' He pointed to Gary who was being attended to by Misty. 'Well he asked for it' Ash said in anger. 'I want sanctions Augustine!' Oak said in absolute rage and fury. He gave Ash a stare which didn't really unnerve him. 'Well quite clearly you have done another member harm but he also may have conceded some actions to you.. therefore during the remaining period you must complete the challenge on your own' Sycamore said looking at the pair.

Ash and Gary looked bemused. 'Zack but what about him?' Ash asked. 'He will go with Serena and her actual partner in this event!' Oak said sternly. He grabbed Serena and Zack and dropped them near Delia and Calem who watched the scene in silence. Ash knew there was no point arguing. He bent low to Pikachu's level.

'I want you to go with Zack and Serena and be a warning to anyone who does anything to the pair okay?' Ash whispered quickly hoping his trusty partner understood, to his fortune he did. Pikachu then sprinted towards Serena and jumped into her arms. 'Well fine.. I'll do this on my own.. but you know I'm actually never alone!' Ash threw out a poke ball. Lucario came out and the pair of them disappeared into thin air. Paul then returned to the scene after he collected his stamp. 'Dayum he has got style..' Paul said nodding in approval while the rest sweat dropped.

'Well I say we get going and leave him to rot... and yeah Gary just stay with us' Dawn said. Gary looked over to the two Professors who both approved. Serena and Zack both threw their arms in frustration, 'thats not fair on Ash!' Serena called out in anger. 'Well bad luck misses.. Calem is here for you now so you are fine!' Sycamore said before him and Oak left.

Zack stayed close to Serena, while Pikachu rested on her shoulder. She walked behind the group looking for an opportunity to run but either May, Misty or Dawn turned around to talk to her.

'Why do you even like that loser?' May asked resting her hands on her head while walking. 'He's not a loser!' Serena said in anger but calmed down, remembering Ash's words. 'Geez okay.. but you know what he has done, so I don't see a reason why you still with him. Honestly your better off with us!' May said happily. All the girls turned around and nodded trying to back up her point. Serena felt anger rise in her.

Suddenly, May's foot twisted and she fell into a tree face first and cried in pain. Despite her getting hurt, Serena chuckled a little and saw a flying object fly away. She looked in the distance and saw a figure of A Lucario and A boy with a hat. She saw Ash but he started to walk away. Serena wanted to follow but Pikachu kept her at bay.

'Lucario will hurt them, if they say anything bad about me' Serena remembered what Ash told her, she felt her heat melt.. 'he is so wonderful' she thought. However Calem noticed her in thought and put an arm around her, but that was quickly taken away as Pikachu bit his arm.

'OW!' Calem shouted in pain, Delia sensed that Calem was in pain and turned around. She approached the boy who showed the claw marks and pointed at Pikachu.

'Pikachu! How could you.. so those drugs are really getting you. Ash ruined you as well... why did I ever keep him' These words reminded Pikachu of a certain day back in pallet town, before Ash set off to Kalos.

Flashback

'Pikachu go and get some water for me I am really thirsty!' Ash said using hand signals to show his thirst. Pikachu nodded and quickly pelted out of his room and down the stairs. As he ran into the kitchen there was already a glass ready for him. He jumped onto the table and picked it up slowly. He slowly made his way down trying not to spill a drop.

He slowly waddled to the stair case, but stopped as he heard voices in the living room. He stopped and hid behind the couch. It was Delia's voice and a rather deep voice. Pikachu set the glass down and in a detective manner went into the living room and hid somewhere he could see the event. He peered from the side towards the man. He lay down a couple of papers on the table. Pikachu then notices a logo on his lab coat:

Doctor of Pallet

'So Delia, are you going to accept the terms now?' The man said rather inquisitively. Pikachu looked over to Delia who looked worried and hesitant. 'Accept what terms?' She asked. 'The ones you suggested at the birth of Ash Ketchum' the man replied. At the mention of Ash, Pikachu's ears stood up engaged in what was to unfold.

'What did I say?' Delia asked but still looked hesitant. 'You did not want to keep your boy.. you wanted him to be adopted by someone. But you took time and agreed that you will make this decision after around 15 years. And that is today.' The doctor explained. Delia seemed to close her eyes and open them rather slowly.

'Isn't a family meant to come and see me to agree terms of giving my boy to them?' Delia asked. 'Well the family has asked me to represent them but they are not available at the moment.. these are the documents' He said pointing at the papers he had laid out on the coffee table. Delia picked up a couple of them and started to scan through them. 'I'd wish to..' Delia seemed to contemplate with her own mind, 'I'd wish to keep him' She said slowly but then repeated with a more confident tone.

'Very well.. you must learn to make the right decisions the first time.. otherwise you will have a struggle for the next few years. But anyway I must get going, farewell' The doctor said picking up his papers, whilst Delia lead him to the door and waved a quick goodbye before shutting the door.

She stopped in her tracks as she saw Pikachu standing there with a frown. 'Did you here that?' Delia said a bit shocked but tried to hide it. Pikachu nodded mournfully. 'Well you see Ash's father left that day... so I wasn't ready to handle a child alone you see' Delia said chuckling nervously. Pikachu didn't buy it. 'Please don't tell Ash' she said with a sad face. That face made Pikachu think hard for a few minutes before nodding.

End of Flashback

Pikachu came out of his thoughts and saw that the gang were getting ready for lunch. He took this as a time to find Ash. He needed to find Ash and tell him the truth. 'Pika!' He said and ran off into the woods. Serena then noticed this, 'hey Pikachu come back!' And she also ran off with Zack into the depths of the forest.

Sorry for the 2 week delay (again), i have been really busy with school and football, and haven't got the time to upload. Also recently I have been having some personal issues so nothing has been going right for me so I hope you understand the delay. But anyway I hoped you enjoyed this chapter and if you did please leave a like.
