'Be on your toes, those guards can be anywhere inside this place' Ash said creeping behind several boxes. His group closely followed behind him looking for any unseen movement. 'They must have kept the prisoner at the top floor' Clemont whispered to Ash. Ash looked at the stairs and saw two more guards standing at the foot of the staircase.

There was a little thud behind the group. A houndoom stood behind Serena growling menacingly. Serena shrieked which caused the guards to be alert. 'Hey you!' One of them shouted pointing at Ash. He charged at Ash but Ash rolled out the way just in time.

'Houndoom flame charge' The other grunt shouted. Flames released its mouth and it aimed for Serena. 'Delphox use flame thrower as well!' Serena shouted. The two moves collided but the flamethrower was much powerful and hit the houndoom. The Pokémon howled in pain and shot across the room and fainted against a wall. 'Greninja use water shuriken on the ground!' Ash commanded. Greninja threw two Shuriken's on the ground causing a mini explosion. The ground broke and pieces went flying around. It sent the two grunts flying into walls.

'Let's go!' Calem said who was at the stairs through the commotion. The group rushed towards the stairs and ascended them quickly. They slowed their pace down as they reached the end of the stairs. Ash peeked to see what was ahead. He saw one of the senior grunts of Team Flare talking with another guard. The senior one walked off leaving the guard alone. Ash became invisible and soon the guard was unconscious on the floor. Ash winced after he became visible.

'Ash?!' Serena said alarmed. She grasped his hand and all the pain seem to evade Ash's body. 'I'm fine, lets move!' Ash said and climbed the other set of stairs. Ash peeked and saw the senior grunt with another one. They were now guarding the final set of stairs to the top of the building.

'I'll make you guys invisible and you go upstairs and get the prisoner,' Ash said turning to his group. 'You grab the person and say the word ketchup' Ash finished. They gave him quizzical look, 'why Ketchup' Bonnie asked. 'Long story' Ash replied looking at Pikachu. 'What about you?' Clemont asked.

Ash smirked, 'I'll keep them busy' Ash said. He grabbed each persons hand and they soon disappeared. 'Ash promise you'll be safe and Kaylin' Serena said in her invisibility. Ash smiled and nodded he grabbed Kaylin and carried her on his back. 'Sawyer use sceptile if you need to' Ash spoke to the air. 'Got it!' Sawyer replied. 'Now go' Ash shouted.

He walked onto the floor casually earnings the attention of the two grunts. To his fortune they walked away from the entrance and closer to Ash. 'Hey! It's Ketchum!' One of them shouted. 'Let's knock him out! Infernape, come on out' the other one said and released his Pokémon. 'Empeloeon lets get em' the other grunt said and released the water type.

'Pikachu and Greninja! I choose you' Ash said and twisted his cap the other way round. 'Infernape Flamethrower!' 'Empoleon water pulse!' The two grunts commanded in sync. The Pokémon released their moves in sync.

Ash didn't move he just watched the moves as they got closer. 'Now!' Ash shouted and his Pokémon disappeared. The attacks missed but had damage on Ash a bit. Ash's Pokémon appeared behind the two starters from Sinnoh, 'Greninja use cut! Pikachu Iron tail' Ash shouted. Greninja's hands grew a stick and slashed at Infernape who went crashing into the ground. Pikachu span in the air and landed it's tail straight on the head of Empoleon. Both starters were lying down on the ground.

'He will definitely be a great addition' The grunts chuckled. Their Pokémon stood up almost unharmed. 'We're tough kid! Face it just give up' The grunt said smirking at Ash. 'That's a nice one lads but I will not be giving up anytime soon! Greninja aerial ace! Pikachu thunderbolt! Ash shouted. Greninja sped at Infernape and started punching it several times. Pikachu jumped up in the air and released the sparks from it's cheeks. Empeloeon screamed in agony as it took the attack.

Infernape was sent flying into a wall but stood up a little wobbly. 'Your good kid but we're even better!' The grunts smirked. After a few seconds the Empeloeon looked healed up as well as Infernape. 'What!?' Ash shouted.

'Flame thrower them bitches!' Gary shouted as he soared on Charizards back. It was trampling its way through the building using flame thrower on each grunt. 'Gary calm down!' Red said looking at Gary who looked like he was having the time of his life. However an unexpected attack hit Charizard causing them to knock over to the ground.

'Everyone alright?' Red asked standing up dusting of the dust. He looked around his group and saw determined faces. But that was gone as they heard laughter. Red span around and saw Xerosic laughing at them with 4 grunts beside him. 'Xerosic!' Red said angrily. 'Oooh I'm famous aren't I,' Xerosic said walking to Red, 'We haven't met but you look familiar' He said with distaste. 'Red Ketchum!' He exclaimed. 'Ketchum! He's near surround each building!' Xerosic said. Red regretted his choice of words.

'As for you, you'll just suffer' Xerosic said. He waved his hand and disappeared behind the four grunts. 'Gary fight the grunts, I'm going to go after Xerosic!' Red said. He hopped and charizard and sped past the grunts before they could attack. 'Hey Punks!' Max shouted and threw a rock at one of the grunts and knocked him straight out.

The other grunts turned to Max and threw their PokéBall. Mightyena, Houndoom and Arcanine were released from the remaining three. 'Me Trevor and Tierno will take them on, you find the prisoner' Gary commanded. Trevor and Tierno lurked behind him while the others sneaked past the deluded Grunts.

'Go Blastoise!' Gary threw his PokéBall and the Kanto starter came out. Its roar shook the floor causing the lights to shake about. 'Raunchy let's go!' Tierno shouted and released the evolved form of Pikachu. It sent sparks flying around and taunted the Houndoom. 'Charizard!' Trevor threw his PokéBall and released the other Kanto starter. 'CHARR!!!' It roared and set the walls on fire behind the grunts.

'Are you ready to kick some ass?' Gary said looking at the Arcanine. 'Blastoise hydro pump!' Gary shouted. 'Raichu thunderbolt!' Tierno danced around. Raichu copied it's moves before releasing the thunder attack. 'Charizard flamethrower!' Trevor pointed at the Mightyena. The three attacks were in line for their Pokémon but all of them dodged.

'Shadow Ball!'

'Flamethrower!'

Bite!'

Houndoom charged at Raichu and bit its shoulder. Raichu fell on one knee holding it's shoulder in pain. Arcanine used flamethrower on Blastoise. Blastoise took the hit and came out with a few scratches on it's body. The shadow ball hit the belly of Charizard forcing it backwards. 'No way! Use rapid spin!' Gary shouted. Blastoise huddled up inside its shells and spun rapidly at Arcanine. The speed was too quick for the fire type and received the attack. It done damage and skidded a few metres back.

'Raichu use quick attack and iron tail!' Tierno commanded. Raichu charged at the Houndoom with it's speed doubled. The quick manoeuvre caught the Houndoom on its heels. Raichu span around as its tail grew lighter and hard. It swung it's tail and slapped the Houndoom in the face. The dark and fire type fell to the ground with a bruised jaw.

'Charizard let's add and use dragon claw!' Trevor commanded. Charizard roared and its claws became green and much sharper. They also grew an inch or too. It flew at Mightyena who was whimpering as the huge shadow cascaded over it. Charizard swung its claws and from both sides and hit the Mightyena. There was a tiny explosion from the force causing dust to swirl around the two Pokémon.

Once the dust settled, Mightyena lay on the ground with swirly eyes. The grunts looked at the Pokémon and then at the trainers. 'Well lads looks like it's going to be an onslaught' Gary said smirking at the cowering grunts. 'Lets go!'

'Thunderbolt' Paul said. His electivire knocked down the entrance and revealed the inside. Two grunts came charging at them with a dragonite and a honchkrow. 'Paul you ready?' Alain asked and looked at Paul who just grunted. 'Piece of cake' He replied nerving the two grunts. 'You guys go around the back and get the prisoner and meet us here!' Alain said to Brock. They nodded and sneaked off towards the back.

'Charizard! Answer my call. Answer my heart! Mega Evolve!' Alain shouted and pressed the key stone on his wrists. Charizards roars became deeper as his shape and appearance changed behind the glowing light of mega evolution. Charizard roared even louder as the lights disappeared revealing, Zard X (Charizard X).

'More like a stroll in the park now.' Paul said after the mega evolution. 2 more grunts came as back up. 'I'll take on three of them' Alain said. 'Are you sure, Electivire thunder punch' Paul said casuall. Electivires hand was engulfed in thunder and swung at the Mightyena released by the back up grunt. In one punch, it was sent flying back and crashed into the wall making a large hole. It fell out of the hole unconscious.

'Woah' Alain said as he was quite amazed at what had just happened. 'Now it is more like a stroll' Paul said arrogantly. Alain smirked, 'I like your attitude.' 'Why thank you, now let's finish these batsards' Paul said angrily. 'Lets go!' Alain shouted.

'There we go!' Iris said as her dragonite burst through the back door. 'Well the key was under the mat' Misty said waving the key. 'Let her live her moment' Cilan sweat dropped. 'Come on guys this way!' Brock said pointing at the stairs. They quickly climbed up the stairs but stopped as soon as they heard voices. Misty peered and saw a grunt standing just a little ahead. She then saw a wire he was holding. 'Brock sneak up around that grunt' Misty pointed. Brock nodded and sneaked up behind the grunt.

'Staryu, use water gun on the wire' Misty commanded. The grunt turned around and saw a jet of water coming at him. He ducked his head and dodged the attack. 'Can you even aim?' He said looking at Misty. Misty just smiled. 'Yes I can' she pointed at the wire. The grunt started shaking vigorously as it got shocked by the electrical currents.

Brock then grabbed a chair and swung at the grunts head knocking him into the cold. 'That was good but way to extreme' Cilan said. 'Hey I see the refuge!' Dawn shouted from across the room. They ran to the door and peered through it and saw the refugee lying on the floor. He had tape to its mouth and was tied up. The room was empty so they charged in.

'Let's get him!' Misty shouted and ran at the prisoner. 'Flame thrower' a voice said. The flame thrower landed at her feet causing the force of it to send her flying backwards. 'Misty!' Brock shouted. He went up to help her up.

'You think it would be that easy?' Miette said walking out of the shadows. 'You!?'

'Kaylin stay behind me!' Ash said and put Kaylin behind him. 'Awww how cute.. Well kid watch how your father loses to us' The grunt said. Ash grew livid, 'don't you dare talk to her' Ash shouted. He looked over at his Pokémon who were also in rage.

'Greninja double team and aerial ace, Pikachu thunderbolt!' Ash shouted. Greninja made copies of itself and charged at the fire type with it's fists glowing. 'Infernape use flame wheel' the grunt said. Infernape created a wheel of fire and sent it at the on rushing Greninja's. The copies disappeared as did Greninja. It reappeared once again behind and started punching Infernape like a punching bag.

Pikachu then jumped up in the air and sent a thunderbolt at Empoleon. The Empoleon this time screamed in pain. It fell onto its knees with sparks coming out. 'No way! Aim for Pikachu and use mach punch!' The grunt exclaimed. Infernape charged at Pikachu and punched it several times and sent it flying into a wall. 'Pika!' It shouted before making impact with the wall. Infernape then aimed for Kaylin but Ash stood in the way and received the attack. Ash didn't move from his spot but felt great amount of pain. Infernape then retreated.

'Empoleon finish Pikachu with hydro pump' the 2nd grunt commanded. Empoleon opened its mouth and sent jets of water flying at the helpless Pikachu. 'Pikachu!' Ash shouted. Pikachu stood rooted to the spot and closed its eyes.

Once the water settled Pikachu fell to the ground unconscious and with lots of scratches. 'Pikachu!' Ash shouted and ran to his partner. He picked Pikachu up in his arms and covered his eyes. 'I'm sorry' he mumbled. 'Told you your daddy was pathetic' The grunts said laughing. This triggered Ash. 'What did you say?' He asked politely. 'PA-THE-TIC!' The grunt said mocking Ash even harder.

'Thats it!' Ash shouted, 'We are not pathetic! Let's do this Greninja! Lets become one!' Ash shouted and raised his right arm. Greninja nodded and raised its left arm. Ash felt the sensation in his stomach. 'Letz go!' Ash shouted. Water enveloped Greninja as it took shape in its new form. The water blasted away and there stood Ash-Greninja.

'Oh God' The grunts said as their legs started to shake. 'This does not seem good' the other one whimpered. Ash and Greninja opened their eyes, 'Ready? Greninja!' 'Always!' Greninja replied.

'Water Shuriken!'
