Make A Wish On A Shooting Star
Alola was great in many things. The food. The people. Pokemon. The stars...
The stars.
As if it could go on forever. A limitless journey in a limitless sky.
Ash would look up for hours on end dreaming, wondering, just how was it possible that wherever you are in the world...you could still see the same constellation. As if it's the glue that binds people and pokemon together.
Whenever you are lost. Look up and find your way back with the help of those stars. Maybe at the end of your journey you might find someone there waiting for you. Someone with a blue ribbon tied neatly on her collar. Waiting patiently for you at the end so you could start a new one with her.
Serena.
How long has it been since he has seen those honey blonde locks of hers? Those shimmering blue eyes that could tell thousands of stories about her adventure. The smile that people and himself grew to adore and cherish.
That smile.
The never ending smile that gives courage and hope. From a crying girl to an independent and strong young woman. He'd never thought she would grow so much from their journey together. He wonders what surprise she would show him once they see each other again.
But alas it's been a year.
No one has heard of the performer ever since she travelled to Hoenn. Countless times Ash would look up at the constellation and for some reason he sees her.
She's looking at him with such kindness, such sincerity, was she even real? Like an angel that flew from above on that faithful night he made a wish. Like a meteor she cane rushing down to save him when he was nothing but a nobody. Like the sun she lights up the shadows around him.
40 days was the limit. Yet she disobeyed it and stayed. She stayed for him and look what happened.
She became human.
Given another chance at life, she wanted to go on an adventure. To make people smile and inspire them to keep moving forward.
In exchange the two shall separate for the time until they are able to meet again.
Ash found a dream. He wanted to become a Champion. A master.
While Serena wanted to live the life she was supposed to have.
So the two split up. Never again to see each other.
One hopes that the other is looking up at the stars right now. Hoping that she is wondering the same thing. How much he misses her. How much he adores her.
How much he loves her.
Like every starry night comes a shooting star.
Like every starry night he prays.
Wishing to be with her when the time is right. Wanting to hold her hand like the time she comforted him when he got tormented by those demons from the past. Hoping to call her the dodge ball queen once more as they play in the sunset.
He looks back on the past.
The crazy events that happened ever since she appeared. The mysteries. The redemption. The anticipation. The desperation. Emotions so strong he almost gave up. But every time she would be there to help him get up. No matter the arguments, the terrors, the abuse, the lies, the truths, the past, or the future. They were together. They had each other.
But until then.
He could only look up and make a wish on a shooting star.
