Flashback:

"How are you Aunty?" Yahvi questioned with a soft smile as she helped her clean the mess it had been created when the guest finally left.

Ruchi Khurana was a woman who had two people's responsibility on her shoulders, except herself. They were Rishabh and his father. She was still the lady of the house who had to take care of every single thing and this whole year didn't make any easier with Rishabh's, concerning Rishabh's health.

"I am good. What is going to happen to me? You tell me, how is it going for you? Did you say yes to the proposal that came for you?" Ruchi asked with a small smile that only pained her heart seeing what she was asking.

"No." Yahvi responded in a firm voice.

"Why child? Your mother and father need to perform their responsibilities too right? You have to think about them as well." Ruchi suggested, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Leave that na Aunty. You tell me, how did the meeting went with these guests? Did Rishabh agree to this marriage? Is the girl's family ready?" Yahvi asked fake a smile.

Only she knew how much she was controlling herself from crying at the thought of Rishabh marrying someone else.

He was hers!

She wants to be his princess forever!

"The girl denied saying she c-cannot t-trust him with their future. Who knows what might happen to him again." Ruchi let out a low chuckle, a distant look in her eyes.

"What might happen again!? Aunty the doctors have declared that he's free of cancer. There's no trace of it and he's perfectly fine. What's there to worry about?" Yahvi asked, barely controlling her anger at the words she just heard.

"This is not the first time I am her this from a girl's family Yahvi. Every girl has said the same thing since 6 months. And even when a girl does agree, Rishabh doesn't. He hasn't agreed to a single proposal yet, let alone be the girl's decision." Ruchi Khurana replied looking at Yahvi sideways who worked in the kitchen as if it was hers.

It wasn't the first time she was here. After the day she met Rishabh after a long long time, the visits, meets and everything remained constant. Except Rishabh's parents and relatives, the only person he met in his treatment period was Yahvi.

And the only person that cried when the doctor declared he was free of cancer was Yahvi, except his parents who had their son back in every aspect.

She cried when she hugged him. She cried when she saw him free of those wires. She cried when she saw him walking out of the hospital room, this time for permanent.

"Can I ask something from you Yahvi?" Ruchi Khurana questioned looking at Yahvi who seemed lost.

"You don't need to take permission Aunty." She smiled softly.

"What is the reason that you don't agree to any proposal that comes for you?" She questioned catching Yahvi off guard.

Her heartbeat increased realizing what Ruchi just asked. She knew the answer of it, but she wasn't sure if it was meant to be disclosed.

"As if you don't know Aunty?" She teased Ruchi Khurana who had a smile of herself.

"What will you do when I will be the one sending a proposal?" Ruchi asked, ignoring Yahvi's response.

"Then you'll be finding a girl who agreed to the proposal without any hesitation." Yahvi said, taking the piece of apple Ruchi had just cut for Rishabh.

A chucked escaped past Ruchi's mouth making Yahvi smile in glee too, although it was hard to miss the tiniest of blush she had on her cheeks.

What has lead to such a situation, huh?

//////////

"She agreed?" Rishabh muttered harshly, running a hand through his hair.

Ruchi Khurana, his mother just looked at him with a small smile knowing the changed behaviour of her son. She did miss the old him, but she also valued the life God had given him. He survived, and that was the best part.

"Yes, and I suggest you do too." Ruchi said placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Mom, you know why I am hesitant." He muttered helplessly, looking at his mother who had tears in her eyes.

"It's high time Rishabh you forget and move past it. If she's made for you which you know and believe, then you're the only one made for her too. Don't ruin her life by doing this. Just agree. For her sake." Saying this Ruchi got out of his bedroom, not before telling him that it was only because it was time for him to have a talk with Yahvi who was waiting outside.

He ran a hand all over his face frustratedly as what he heard completely shook him. Sure, the only girl he had in his mind was Yahvi. The only person left to care about for him in this world except his parents was Yahvi. She was his jaan. She was his princess.

But marriage would only tie her up with a person like him. Someone who doesn't have a control over himself. Someone who can get ill any point was what he believed, no matter the truth was completely opposite.

"Rishabh?" A soft voice reached his ears and his posture turned stiff as he felt her vanilla scent lingering in his room.

He just hummed, still looking outside the balcony he was sitting on the chair kept almost on its edge.

"D-Did you hear my decision? Are you h-happy?" She innocently asked and it took every bit of strength from him not to embrace her and tell how much he wants it too.

But his reasons were valid too.

"I did." He simply responded, still not looking at her.

If he would, he knew it would be hard as hell for him to control his emotions.

"And what is yours?" She hesitation questioned and Rishabh felt her standing just behind his chair, that one movement of his hand and he would be able to feel her.

"We are getting married Yahvi. Get ready." He simply said, without any emotion and her eyes glistened with tears because of happiness at what she just heard.

He heard her squeal loudly and it was hard for him not to chuckle at her.

"Oh my God! I need to tell this to Ma." She muttered happily and Rishabh came to his senses realizing that she'd just addressed his mother as Ma.

With this, giving a quick peck to Rishabh on his stubbled cheek and catching him off guard, she ran outside his bedroom, practically dancing the whole way at the happiness of what she just heard.

Damn him and damn her luck!

Flashback ends.

//////////

"You see that little jelly bean?" Yahvi asked, all too excited.

She was sitting on his lap, a photo of the ultrasound they went for today. He had come to home after a tiring day from office and as soon as he'd stepped in, she had made him busy by making him see the photos.

For him too, this moment felt special. He had lost all his tension, worry, stress and tiredness when he saw that big grin on her face.

He hummed looking at her who had her innocent gaze stuck on him.

"That's our baby Rish. Our baby." She whispered, teary eyed, almost not believing as if this moment was true.

"And I am sure it'll come out as the cutest seeing how adorable his/her mother is." He smiled, rubbing her 3 months pregnant tummy softly, placing his hands under the satin camisole she was wearing.

"You and your words." She shook her head with a faint smile who smiled while kissing her forehead.

"Did you bring my icecream?" She asked, completely changing the topic.

"No." He responded.

Her lips instantly started quivering, eyes glistening with tears more and more second by second and before she would throw any other fit, he continued speaking, "And that's because today we're going for a long drive and of course we're going to have icecream in between."

Her face lit up, a big smile appearing on her face at his words and she hugged him, burying her face in his neck, not caring how sweaty he was after a tiring day from office or that he hadn't taken a bath today, seeing that the old Rishabh was getting back day by day. He believed there was no need to shower everyday and instead we should be saving some water.

And at this, Yahvi would only make him reminisce those showers they take together that leads to a lot of things, deeply, and for a very long amount of time.

"Let's go please? I want to eat icecream now." She said, playing with the buttons of his shirt.

"Princess, I am not letting you go out in this outfit. All this is only for me to see. Now come here so that I change you and we can go out after that." He said possessively, pulling her even more towards him and she huffed in response.

These outfits were something she had gotten used to because of the comfort and that they were small ones. She would feel free of anything and he too didn't mind her wearing anything till its inside the house.

"But I have turned fat Rish. Only a few of my old clothes fit me." She whined, looking at him with a pout.

"I have a solution for that." He smirked, lifting her in his arms and lead them towards the spare room in this flat.

"Oh my God! Rishabh Khurana, you're about to die with my bare hands." Yahvi gasped dramatically looking at the sight in front of her, clinging onto Rishabh like a small monkey.

"You should be thankful to me instead of acting like this." He butted in.

He corrected her position in his arms now that her hands were wrapped around his neck while her legs around his waist to which he was supporting her buttocks to keep in place.

"But you hid such an important thing to me from me itself." She sniffled in his neck making him let out a sigh due to her mood swings.

"Princess, everything takes time right? It took me time to accept the reality as well. But now I am more than glad that I have you with me forever and that nothing won't separate me from you." He murmured looking at her softly.

She nodded her head like a baby and got down from his arms only to pick her favourite one amongst all these.

Her hand directly went towards the black hoodie of his and she picked it up, sniffing it once making Rishabh chuckle at her antics and she wore it instantly, swooning over the comfort she got.

His scent was still present, which she remembers she would feel when she would hug him in the college time.

These hoodies of his had a different kind of warmth and now she was glad to have a collection of them.

"All these are mine now. Forget about them Rish." She warned  pointing a finger towards him who raised his hands in surrender.

"As you say Madam." He said shrugging making her run towards her for engulfing him in a hug.

And as always he crushed her petite frame completely making her shriek and giggling as he twirled her around, her hair flowing in every direction and his smile shining.

//////////

"Look! Forget about the mint choco chip icecream. I want to have Kulfi." Yahvi shouted seeing a Kulfi stall right on the corner of the road.

The car stopped with a small jerk, but she was safe as he's made sure to put her into seatbelt.

"You scared me. Princess, atleast try to behave like a pregnant woman." He reasoned, removing the seatbelt from her seat as she was pouting at him.

"You will be the one cursing when I'll start behaving like a pregnant woman." She pointed out as they got down with him helping her.

These days, Rishabh had been extra careful with Yahvi would be an understatement. He wouldn't let her take a step or do any chore atleast in his presence because no one can actually stop Yahvi from doing anything. Only she knows what all she does when he's at office the whole day.

"For God's sake, put me down Rishabh! Everyone is looking at us." Yahvi hissed in his ears as he's completely lifted her in his arms.

"They're only admiring princess." He gave his signature smirk, leading the two towards the stall.

"Bhaiya, one pista kulfi and one malai kulfi." He said to the vendor who nodded with a smile and began to take those out whatever he had said.

"How do you know I want pista kulfi amongst so many choices?" Yahvi raised her eyebrows at him while crossing her arms as he had finally placed her down on her feet.

"The same way you know that the malai one is for me." He said flicking her forehead making her grit her teeth.

He was back to treating her like the shorty she has always been for him whether it was to take a support on her, flicking her forehead, lift her to throw somewhere or making fun of her short height or petite figure.

She was just 5'3 in front of his 6'1 that always made her look no less than a mice.

"What is this behaviour Rish? I am your wife so you have to treat me with respect." She muttered, turning her face the other side with a huff.

"And I am your husband princess. This drama won't work on me." He said, pulling her towards him taking her to a surprise and she clutched her stomach in process.

"Oh my God! This isn't our college time. You and I, are both pregnant and we need to take care of this thing in my stomach, not act like brats okay?" She reminded, crossing her arms and straightening her posture to make her look intimidating.

But who was she kidding?

Rishabh only laughed at her, clutching his stomach freely.

"Do that again Yahvi. Please just once." He said between his laughs and she gave him a bewildered look.

"Rish! Stop making fun of me. Don't you even feel teeny weeny bad that you're doing this?" She asked him with a adorable pout, making a pinch out of her index finger and thumb.

"Not at all." He shook his head, still continuing to laugh.

Stomping her foot like a child, she turned on her heels to the opposite direction and started walking, muttering continuously under her breath.

Before he could recover from his shock, she had walked a lot far and now realizing this, he too began to follow her.

"Princess." He called out in a sweet voice, but she didn't pay any heed and kept on walking.

"Yahvi." He again shouted and this time her huff was clearly heard.

"Princess walk slowly. You know you shouldn't be taking stress." He scolded in between.

And before she could get more away from him, he catched up on his speed, and twirled her around such that she crashed onto his hard chest, her eyes shut tightly as she was scared.

And the situation felt like the same if did years ago, in their college time, in their favourite corridor.

"Leave me Rish." She muttered.

"Open your eyes Princess. Look at me." He murmured, grazing her cheek with his knuckles which made her lean towards him even more.

Her eyes slowly opened only to get lost in his deep brown orbs, him breathing heavily that was fanning on her face due to their closeness.

Without wasting any moment, she got on her tip toes and pressed her lips against her. He too didn't waste any second in lifting her up by her thighs that were now wrapped around his waist and then kissing like it has been forever.

They looked perfect. Their kiss was perfect. She moulded into him perfectly and the only thing he murmured was...

"I love you princess. I love you so fucking much. Sorry that I let you down so many times and I couldn't be more thankful to God for giving you in my life. You're my life now. Only mine. You gave me such a big blessing to be a father and I will not leave a chance to cherish that."

All of his words were against her lips as tears kept pouring out of her eyes because of his confession.

"I love you too. Always have and always will." She sobbed, placing her head in his neck as she cradled her form.

"Shh, don't cry." He kept soothing her, cradling her and slowly slowly they walked back to the location.

This was Yahvi and Rishabh's story where he came past his insecurities all due to Yahvi's doings and hardwork. Though they were one, but one's acceptance led to many changes and mostly they were on the positive side for these two.
