᪥
The continuous pitter patter was heard as the water, from up above the sky was drizzling onto the serene area, through the lush greenery, enhancing freshness at its level best.
The whole atmosphere was soothing.
It created a euphoric vibe for everyone.
Everyone except these two.
The two being Shreya and Veer.
Laying down on the bed with their back facing each other's, they both were lost into incomplete thoughts, barely acknowledging what was happening in their surroundings.
They didn't bother to intake the freshness of a time like this.
Their parents had ordered them to spend some time together, away from all the happenings of their life. Because all they'd been doing since two months was Shreya living in the world of books while Veer drowning himself in his office work, barely sleeping.
This decision felt highly forceful to both of them as they didn't want this to happen.
For Veer, the reason was that no matter how hard he'd tried to get the old Shreya back, controlling his emotions and feelings towards the incident just for her, it just didn't work as Shreya was being a adamant one.
She doesn't knows herself that why she was doing it. She couldn't feel any emotions. She felt abandoned. She felt as if there was nothing left in their lives.
Not even crying.
It was only a week after the incident that she'd shed her precious tears. After it, her eyes were void. Void of emotions, void of any feeling. Void of tears.
Currently at 12 in the midnight, no one seemed to catch any sleep, doesn't matter they were too tired because of these past months. The month which none of them enjoyed as they weren't the old Shreya and Veer. They had lost their charm unknowingly.
They both were adamant in their own ways.
Daily in the night, they would be at the two farthest ends of the bed, however in the morning they would find themselves wrapped in each other's arms, feeling comfort at its level best.
To overcome the pain, Veer had decided to take her to a children's orphanage after the first week of her accident, but it was only for Shreya to burst in a pool of tears as soon as she glanced at the cute little children playing in the field there, without any care of the world.
Without any noise, she slowly sat upright on the plush bed of their hotel room and glanced at Veer who seemed a lot busy in his thoughts.
"Veer..." She whispered, which stood our barely audible and that's why Veer hadn't shown any response.
"Veer." Her voice was comparatively high and in an instant, Veer's head snapped towards her with a worried look on his face.
"Yes?" Was his response, although he seemed as if he wanted to say a lot. A lot that was piled up inside of him.
"I feel pain." She mumbled, looking down in her lap, as she felt as if she couldn't meet his eyes.
Her dark brown locks were hiding her face for him to see, yet he knew what she must be feeling right now.
"Pain? Where baby? Where is it paining? Is your stomach fine? What about-" He rambled only to be cut off by Shreya placing her plam on top of his mouth.
"Shh. Don't worry." She murmured looking straight into his eyes which only made her see the warmth and love he had for her.
"But-"
"I feel pain in my heart." She completed her sentence before he could say any further.
"Shreya..." He whispered helplessly, before he forwarded his arms towards her only to embrace her.
And after such a long time, Shreya surrendered herself to him and let Veer pull her towards him as he made her sit on his lap, while he himself was on the support of bedpost.
Her head was rested on his broad chest, body curled up as she had made the habit of. His hands were caressing her hair continuously as he was cradling her like a delicate baby.
The sniffles from her which he could hear were piercing his heart every next second as it felt to him for the first ever time that he couldn't do anything to stop this.
"Shreya, we were at a point where everything took a test out of us. God wanted to see whether we would give up so easily or how much more we can take. I know it's difficult for you to wipe all the pain you have in your heart, but it wasn't your fault baby. It was our destiny and now we have to show everyone how strong we are. That baby will always have a piece of our heart. Or maybe more than anything else of our future because it was the most special thing that happened to us. Maybe it was for a small amount of time, but we atleast had it right? Many people don't even get the benefit of that. Don't give up with anything Shreya, just don't." He murmured, nuzzling his face into her hair.
"But how can I not feel depressed about the fact that I have lost my unborn child and I will soon be losing my husband as well?" She sniffed, not lifting her head even now.
She was seeking so much warmth in his lap that not getting away felt the right option. Also, the facts she was saying felt embarrassing to her as what she didn't know was he's the only one she could ever talk to openly, without any hesitation.
"Losing your husband? When did I ever say that I will be leaving you? Or something else for that matter?" He asked, his tone chaning stern second by second.
"What's the point of you still being with me? We married only because of the pregnancy right? It's-"
"And what about the fact that I love you Shreya? Didn't that happen as well? Why would I be leaving my wife whom I love?" He asked, lifting his head, now making her look directly in his eyes.
"Don't tell me Shreya that this was the reason of you being depressed the whole time. What else confirmation do you need other than the fact I have married you and expressed my feelings as well? I have not hidden anything from you and still you have doubts about me. Bravo!" He said, letting out a huge, deep sigh.
"But-"
"It's better if I don't hear anything else from you that'll only worsen my mood Shreya." He mumbled, loud enough for her to hear.
While her eyes were glistening with fresh tears, Veer only looked at her with a blank face making this situation more complicated than ever. This was too like every time when they forget to express their emotions and feelings through words. They know they're not a perfect pair of husband and wife, but sometimes it feels like either one of them don't try being one as well.
"I love you Veer. I really do and that's why I was scared. Scared that you will leave me and I just couldn't cope up with it no matter how hard I tried." She murmured, burying her face in his chest, arms wrapping around his torso in a firm grip.
"Just please once say that you won't leave me. Ever." She forced out, looking at him with teary eyes.
"I will never leave you Shreya. No matter anything happens with us, even if it's the worst, I will be by your side forever." He said and she knew he meant every word he said.
He kept on caressing her hair while cradling her like a baby and Shreya took every benefit of that. She snifled openly, showing him her emotions and even clutched onto multiple of times as if he was about to leave her.
"I love you Veer." She murmured.
"And I love you the most." He responded, his voice firm as ever, eyes shining with the longing he had for her.
And it was only a second later that their lips met in a passionate yet loving kiss. His hands were roaming all over her frame while their lips were fighting over the dominance which as usual, Veer won. His tongue swiped across her bottom lip as she granted him every access only to enable him explore her mouth like a child does to new toys. His tongue didn't left any spot untouched while he sucked on her bottom lip in between, tasting her sweet flavor.
Them kissing like this was a sight to behold.
As soon as the kiss ended, their foreheads were resting onto each others while both of them breathing heavily. The pad of his thumb swiped above her bottom lip as he noticed it being swollen due to his assault seconds ago.
Both of them knew they needed each other.
"May I?" He took her permission like a gentleman, before starting to do any further.
"You don't need to ask." She said with a small smile, eyes still glistening with tears.
And without wasting for any other second, Veer crashed down his lips onto hers in a heart fluttering kiss while in between making her lay on the plush bed, hovering her like always. It was only a few minutes later that two bodies were joined in the most intimate of ways where outside the clouds were again roaring due to the thunder, this time all with happiness.

"Haven't I ordered you to not to call me once I leave the office?" Veer hissed on the person he was talking on the phone as he parked his car in the parking lot of their penthouse building.
"B-But s-sir, it was i-important-"
"Nothing is more important for me to finally spend some time with my family. Now hang up the phone before I fire you." He gritted out, getting out of his car.
"S-Sorry s-sir." And the very next moment, his PA ended the call as he knew how bad Veer Shekhawat's wrath is.
A big smile formed on his face as he manoeuvred his way up the floor to his penthouse. Not to disturb Shreya, he opened the door with the key he has and stepped inside, feeling immense happiness about the fact he was going to reunite with his wife after such a hectic day.
There, on the barstool kept anterior to the kitchen's main countertop was sitting Shreya with her head dipped between her hands that were kept on the support of her elbows.
Still with a smile, he walked towards her trying not to make a sound.
"Boo!" He shouted, dipping his head near her ear.
"Ahhhhhhh! I will kill you Veer!" Shreya shouted, almost falling off the barstool.
And as always Veer couldn't control his laugh as clutching his stomach, he chuckled finding her reaction funny.
"I swear, coming back home after office gets better everyday." While saying this, he continued to laugh.
"Don't say this. It's only making me feel more bad." She huffed crossing her arms over her chest.
Dressed in a cute romper, she looked adorable to him, but the face she carried changed everything. What was the reason of her getting sad this time?
"Buy why?" He frowned this time.
"See. Look at the blunder I caused." She huffed pointing towards the pan that was kept on another countertop, filled with some burnt food whose name he couldn't even guess because of its state.
It basically looked greasy charcoal pieces.
"Who asked you to cook then? You are ordered not to put much pressure on your foot and still you don't listen. How many times do I have to remind you the same thing Shreya? Do you want me to put you on complete bedrest?" He scolded while putting the pan in the kitchen's sink, yet his eyes fixated on her sitting figure.
"I will get bloated if I'll be on a complete bedrest." She pouted.
"It won't matter to me because I love you for who you are. I love Shreya with every bit of hers, not because of outer appearance. I love you because of what you do and it won't change no matter what." He said, looking at her with love filled eyes, his voice calm as the ocean.
All the while, he sat on the other barstool that was kept beside hers adjacent to the kitchen counter. There were only two. The right one for her while the left one for him. Well, it would be a different thing everyday that you would find her sitting on Veer's lap, with him feeding her as well like the baby she has become due to all care and affection.
"And why are you worried about what I will eat every single day? I am here to make food for myself and for you as well." He continued, pulling her barstool towards him just to get her even closer than they previously were.
"Why have you turned so good?" She said, hitting his chest.
"Only for you baby. Only for you." He mumbled while kissing the top of her head making her smile in contentment.
And it was only a second later that he captured her lips into his in a heart smearing kiss. She could still feel butterflies in the pit of her stomach while his tongue and lips were creating wonders everywhere.
Intimacy between them has always been amazing and would definitely continue to be so.
"I have an idea. How about we make something for us to eat together?" He asked with a hopeful smile, his eyebrows raised.
"I would love that." She smiled.
"Then you have to rest all the while I get freshened up so that we can begin with our task for today." He ordered, faking a stern voice.
"Yes sir." She fake saluted making him laugh who then lifted her up to lead them towards the bedroom so she could rest while he was freshening up.
//////////
"No! We should add flour first and then pour milk." Shreya said, hitting his arm.
"You're wrong Shreya. We should be adding milk first and then put the flour." He corrected her.
"How will that make a difference Veer?" She groaned.
"It'll obviously make a difference. Look." Saying this, he emptied the packet of flour on top of Shreya's head and all she could do was looking at him with her mouth agape.
"You didn't just do that." She shook her head, clearing the flour from her face while Veer was busy laughing his heart out.
"Oh god." He continued laughing weirdly, rolling on the flour, not realizing he was covering himself in the flour that was fallen on the floor as well.
"You look like a zombie. Or more like a witch." While saying this, he pointed towards her angry form who looked like she would burst off with anger any moment.
"You bastard!" Shouting on top of her lungs, she threw the only other thing which was kept on the countertop that was milk inside the jar.
This time it was Veer's mouth that was hanging open.
"What the hell Shreya!? Why did you do that?" He shouted, wiping away the liquid from his eyes.
"I did because you covered me in the flour. Why did you do then?" She shouted back, eyes turning wide due to anger.
"I did because I wanted to. See, how good you look in the flour. Now just don't remove it unless I tell you." He simply said.
"Is your mind out of its place? What the hell are you even saying?" She asked him with a weird expression.
And he didn't respond this time. Instead he was busy boring holes on her, his face void of any emotion just so even she couldn't conclude anything. She was about to hit him with her strong as hell hands when his voice stopped her.
"You look hot babe."
"W-What?" She stuttered at his intense gaze.
"I am dead serious." While saying this, he started walking closer to her.
"But you look like a hippo, drenched in milk." She commented.
"Way to ruin the moor Shreya." He grumbled under his breath.
"You're always in a mood Veer. I can bet you'll have the same look in the midnight and will wake me as well because apparently you'll be having a not so little problem down there." Rolling her eyes, she circled her arms around his neck, making him wrap his arms around her bare waist due to the choice of her outfit that was a pair of tank top and sweatpants.
"I am hungry." She continued to mumbled and soon it was followed by her stomach grumbling making her cheeks go red in embarrassment.
"I can tell that." He patted her stomach with a mischievous smile.
"How about we order something?" He asked with a smile.
"That's a great idea! How about...ummm pizza?" They shouted 'pizza' at the same time and then laughed.
"It's settled then." Saying this, he proceeded to place an order for their usual pizza choice that included mostly the cheeziest pizzas they made.
//////////
"Dang, this was amazing." Veer groaned, licking the remnants of cheese from his lips.
"You bet." Shreya nodded, taking the last bite of slice that was in her hands.
"How dare you waste cheese like this Shreya?" He scolded looking at her with a stern look.
"I didn't. Look, the plate is looking as if it hadn't been used." She replied with a frown.
"I am talking about the cheese remaining on my favourite body part of yours." He whispered getting closer to her sitting form on one of the couches in their living room.
"That is?" She asked in a whisper.
"These beautiful, plump lips of yours." As soon as these words came out of his mouth, his body reached forward to lick the remnants of cheese on her lips making her eyes go wide.
"You have no shame." She playfully scolded him, yet with a small smile formed on her beautiful face.
With this, she leaned over to him some more and he too didn't waste any second to embrace her. These days, none of the two were hesitant to show the longing, care and warmth they had for each other. They didn't fail to show the affection and weren't embarrassed to get some as well. Them staying in each other's arms for a long time was nothing new now.
"Shreya...I was thinking something." Veer said after moments of comfortable silence while caressing her hair.
"What?" She questioned, leaning onto him some more.
"I- uhh- the other day when we visited the orphanage, I had something in my mind after that. Like seeing those children and thinking about their future, it makes me want to do something for them. Now, I obviously can't adopt hundreds of children or take up their responsibilities over my shoulder because of every other thing going on in our lives, but I have decided to donate regularly for their education and health purposes. But, still I feel like it's not enough. And that's why I don't know why, but like the thought of adopting a child came into my mind." He breathed out, breaking the comfortable silence.
"Adopt?" She whispered.
"Is it because I couldn't-"
"There's no such reason baby. I- I just think it'll be a good step from our side and it'll be a good thing for the child to have parents as well. Just imagine how big of a achievement it'll make us feel that we have given a family to a child?" He cut her off, before she take him in a wrong way.
"But Veer, I am highly scared about us being parents. What if we aren't good enough for the child? What if we basically ruin his/her life? It has only been 2 months since the misc-...." She croaked out with difficulty, and still she couldn't complete her sentence as her emotions took everything over.
"And what if we brighten the child's life Shreya? Wouldn't that make us good humans? Wouldn't we be proud parents of a child?" He asked, clutching her shoulders in a soft grip.
"I don't know Veer. I don't know what to say." She said truthfully, not hiding anything from him as always.
"Let's think about it some more, huh? I won't do anything without your consent. It'll be you agreeing first every time in any matter of ours." He said, cupping yer cheeks while making her look at him as she was lost into space.
"We should. Who knows what is stored for our future?" She smiled knowingly, wrapping her arms around his torso, leaning completely on him like she has made the habit of.
Yet her mind was continuously repeating the same thoughts or more like the problems as she thought them to be.
Will I be a good mother?
Will we be able to raise a child?
Will this solve every insecurity of mine?
