"You won't. "

"Why won't I? It's my bloody room and my house in the first place!" He exasperated.

"I don't care. I will not be sleeping on the same bed as you." She snapped angrily.

"Then don't. Go sleep on the couch or preferably in some other room." He snapped back.

"Are you kidding me? You're going to make me sleep on the couch when I am 2 months pregnant? And how will I sleep in any other room? You didn't even have the time to get those furnished." She grumbled in the end in frustration.

"It's all your fault. Why did you marry me today? You should've run away like I warned you in the beginning. But no, Ms. Shreya Aggarwal- sorry- Mrs. Shreya Veer Shekhawat will never listen to anyone. After all she wants a secure future for her unborn child no matter what she has to go through herself." He yelled dramatically.

"So? Unlike you I care about the life growing inside of me. Maybe he/she won't get his/her father's love and care, but I will try my best to give all the things he/she deserves." She responded in an equally firm voice.

"You're making me look as the bad guy here." He gritted out, pointing at himself.

"I am not because you already are." She shouted.

"Shreya don't." He warned pointing a finger at her direction.

"I will. There has never been a time when you've shown any concern towards me in this month. Let it be me. You didn't even ask anything related about the life growing inside of me Veer. Don't tell me you've forgotten that he/she is half your blood as well. And don't tell me that you have zero affection towards it because let me tell you clearly, it'll break me. Break me maybe more than anything bad or worse that has happened with me in my lifetime."

"S-Shreya-"

"Don't Veer. It's better if I don't hear it from your mouth. It'll only increase my anger." She whispered helplessly.

"I do! I do care Shreya! How can you even think that I don't care or love my child? The only problem I have is this that child is growing inside of you. Inside of Shreya who I loathe." He snapped angrily at her outburst at him.

"Loathe? Thank you Veer. Thank you so much. Now I finally know I am a burden on you. And I know it as well how big of a mistake I've done by marrying a person like you." She said with a sarcastic smile. A smile that was so painful to her from the insides, but didn't let it show.

"And remember one thing Veer, I loathe you even more. If there's a heavier word for hate, then I do that to you." Saying this she stormed out of his bedroom leaving a fuming Veer behind with his fist and jaw clenched, veins popping out on his neck.

Outside the bedroom, Shreya was laying down on the very uncomfortable couch in the living room specially because she was pregnant and always needed a fluffy pillow beneath her back.

Tears were running down her face, hiccups followed by her mouth. She was sobbing at her loneliness.

Back inside the bedroom, Veer could hear her every single cry. His soul couldn't let him sleep where he could simultaneously hear the cries of his wife.

Getting up from the bed he was laying on comfortably, he was about to open the door for calling her back inside when the door bursted open revealing a Shreya who without even glancing at him ran towards the bathroom and Veer sighed knowing what was happening.

He knew very well how bad her health is during the first trimester. Constant vomits, headaches and back pains were nothing new.

Making his way to the bathroom, the sight in front of him made his jaw clench, eyes turning red due to anger. And the shocking fact was that he didn't know why that was happening.

Shreya was slumped down on the floor, clutching her head with one hand while clutching her stomach with another. Tears were flowing out of her like a river, her body wrecking with heavy sobs.

"Shreya." He whispered placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, and the fact was his tone has never been this soft with her. In fact it was the softest she'd heard from his side.

"Veer I can't. I cannot." She shook her head frantically while crying uncontrollably and he immediately engulfed her into a tight yet comforting hug, slumping down beside her.

"Breathe Shreya. Breathe. Crying is not good for your health right?" He consoled softly and she buried her face in his chest, still continuing to sob.

Without even asking her or giving her a moment, he'd lifted her in his arms like a sac of potato and lead them back to the bedroom.

Trying to make her sit on the bed, she protested while clutching onto him even more, terrible hiccups coming out of her mouth due to uncontrollable cries, this time he sat himself with her on his lap.

"Head is paining?" He asked after sometime and she nodded her head frantically.

And in and instant his hands made their way to her head, massaging it the utmost care trying his level best to soothe down her pain.

"Have this." He said forwarding a pill in her direction.

"I cannot take any random medicine." She butted in.

"It's yours. The one which the doctor had prescribed." He responded and she was shocked would be an understatement.

Listening to him for the very first time, she ate the medicine obediently and after that Veer made her lie on the bed carefully.

She let out a small whimper at the discomfort and it was only a second later that she moaned in comfort as Veer had placed her pregnancy pillow beneath her making her terribly shocked.

"W-Where did you get this from?" She couldn't help, but to ask as all she'd bought with herself at his personal house was her clothes. Nothing else. Not even her daily medication being the careless girl she is.

"Obviously from your house. Despite what you think of me, I know what all is happening in your pregnancy." His response had made her seal her mouth.

Flashback:

"Aunty where's Shreya?" A tired Veer asked coming inside Aggarwal house where Chhaya was busy taking care of things late in the night.

It was a week after everyone had gotten to know about Shreya's pregnancy and also a day prior to Shreya and Veer's wedding no matter it was forceful for any of them or not.

The revelation was unexpected before their marriage to Veer, but because of Shreya's health, it was obvious. And the most unexpected it was for their parents. The two father's hadn't said a word to Shreya. They'd simply walked out where the discussion was held. Whereas, Swati and Chhaya had calmed down a crying Shreya first and left her with Veer, to go after their husbands.

And it was thirty minutes later that they'd returned to engulf their children in a hug just so to make them realize they have their parents at every step. Neither they'd said anything about this matter to Shreya and Veer nor anything between them changed. The wedding atmosphere was the same as before.

However, only Shreya knows how good of a listening she heard from her mother after which Chhaya had only calmed her down and how Swati had showered Veer with her slaps and broom.

"Veer!" Chhaya exclaimed surprisingly, seeing her son in-law.

"Shreya is in her room. She again had terrible sickness in the evening so I ordered her to sleep." Chhaya replied, concerned about her daughter.

"Aunty, is she taking the prescribed medications timely?" Veer questioned with a frown.

"Why are you asking me this Veer? Don't you ask such things to her yourself?" Chhaya asked a little confused.

"She doesn't really picks up my phone. That's why I decided to visit her today." Veer shrugged.

"Veer, it's not my place to mend up between you two, but I can't help to open my mouth." Chhaya said.

"Aunty-"

"Veer only a fool will not realize the tension between you two. I don't know on what basis it is, but I can tell it's childish because it has been going on since you both were these toddlers. I thought you both are mature enough, but guess what I was wrong. If you were mature enough, you would've taken this situation way better." She said in a go.

"Shreya saying that she'll be okay with her pregnancy throughout alone is one thing and actually going through the same is totally opposite. I know very well what all goes through this period and I know how waman craves for ger husband. " Chhaya responded softly.

"And you people think that getting married this soon isn't fair? Don't you think it's unfair for us that we got to know how big of a thing our children has come across? We are being supportive at our level best and now you need and have to do the same with your parents. We are modern enough, but not everyone is and I don't want my children to hear bad and unnecessary words from outsiders. No matter how much we think that they won't affect us, but when a situation like this arises, everything affects. Everything." She continued.

"And you know we say we aren't angry at you two. But only I know what is going on between both the set of parents because of the situation you both have brought in these two households. The only luck on your side is that you both were destined to end up together in a marriage by your own parents. We'd decided it long back that you both were set to marry in future. I always thought it's somewhere unfair to you, but when you've bought this situation upon your parents, then you should be proud saying that you will marry each other. Parents keep their respect in the hands of their children and even we have. And when it's the time for both of you to prove us or save us, you two are busy acting immature. Because you both have bought this upon yourself, it's only you two who can correct this and I have to say this that marriage as soon as possible is the only option." She continued making Veer sigh at the reality.

"No wonder Shreya is less mature than you. She's this little princess who doesn't have a worry about the world as she thinks she has her father with every step. But we both or we all know the harsh reality. And because of that Veer you have to be the bigger person. Not because you're at fault or something because it was no one's fault. But because it's your responsibility. She's your responsibility now Veer. And one more thing, your Mom and I have read all your apology letters from childhood that you wrote for her." And her last statement felt as if a big rock was thrown upon Veer.

"Don't worry. It's nothing bad. In fact Shreya was a fool to understand you at that time, but when God has given you both a second chance, don't let it go. And Veer, you have to give in your everything no matter what it costs." She ended with a small smile.

"Thank you Aunty." He said gratefully.

"Kids don't thank their mothers, do they?" Chhaya winked at him who chuckled hugging her like he has the habit of.

Inside Shreya's bedroom, she was sleeping down on the bed in a weird position and Veer frowned seeing the pregnancy pillow under her. Does she had to use this in the first trimester itself?

Trying his best not to make any noises, he sat himself beside her and carefully placed his hand on her bare stomach as her shirt was risen up.

"Hi there little one." He whispered and unknowingly a smile had reached up his face.

"I know it's the first time you're hearing me this close. So let me tell you, I am your handsome and dashing father." He whispered with a small smirk.

"I don't know if you're able to hear or understand this or not, but I really love you. And I cannot wait to meet you so please come out fast." He said.

It felt magical to him. Magical that he was able to feel a connection with the life growing inside of Shreya. How was it possible that he can love someone this soon? Maybe that's the magic of parenting.

"This might be the first time you're hearing me this late. But guess what, I am visiting you everyday from now onwards at this time only. So don't sleep till we don't talk and most importantly, trouble your mother. But not that much for which she has to cry daily." He said seeing the stains of dried tears on her cheek.

"And don't take seriously what all I say to your mother. She's such a bitch sometimes that I can't help to say such things. But you know, all of it is out of anger." He smiled.

Shreya stirred in her sleep a little and Veer looked alarmed.

"Oops. Looks like we're disturbing your mother. Guess what, we'll just have to talk tomorrow now." He whispered.

Seeing the condition of Shreya laying in such a position, Veer corrected the pillow beneath her and adjusted her on the bed, placing the comforter on her and left her alone.

Flashback ends.

"Sleep. And if you need anything, just call me. I am sleeping in the living room." He said and as he was about to move outside, a hand stopped him in the process.

"D-Don't."

"Huh?" He asked in confusion.

"Don't go." She said in a much clearer tone.

"Fine. I'll sleep on the couch in this room." He sighed.

"No." She blurted.

"Sleep here. On the bed. Beside me." She continued and Veer mouth dropped open.

And before he could recover his shock, Shreya had pulled him on the bed being the strong woman she has always been and switched off the light in a flash.

Her hands instantly wrapped themselves around his torso and legs tangled with his' on their own, now her head placed on his chest and all Veer could do was stare at her like a gaping fish.

What he didn't know was the comfort Shreya had gotten when he'd consoled her in the bathroom was never this pleasing. She felt as if she craved it. And she didn't hesitate to get that comfort again even if it meant sleeping beside Veer. A person she loathes. Or let's just say the person she says she loathes.

//////////

"The sickness is very common Mr. and Mrs. Shekhawat so I suggest you shouldn't worry about that much. I had told you the same in your previous visit and because Shreya's been dealing with this a lot, I'll prescribe some pills to have it under control." The doctor announced making Shreya and Veer sigh.

When she'd first addressed them as Mr. and Mrs. Shekhawat, Shreya was seconds away from correcting her to address her as Shreya only, but Veer had stopped her. And this continued for quite a few times when she'd finally stopped trying. She didn't know why Veer did that.

"Doctor I-I-" Veer stuttered, not knowing how to say this.

"Yes Mr. Shekhawat? You can ask any query. Don't hesitate." The doctor smiled politely.

"Uhh- does being physical while pregnancy affects the baby?" He finally let out and Shreya gave him a deadly glare.

"No Mr. Shekhawat. It doesn't. In fact it's good for the baby specially in the starting months." The doctor replied making Veer release a breath of relief as he still remembers the night when things between Shreya and him had heated up around a month back after the family dinner and they got carried away.

"Shreya, take this report and go to the MRI room. The doctor is waiting for you there." The doctor said nodding to Shreya.

"Okay." She agreed.

"I'll just go with her." Veer said to the doctor politely when she stopped him.

"We don't allow any second person besides the patient in the MRI room Mr. Shekhawat. And I also need to talk to you about some things so I suggest you to let Shreya go alone." The doctor said and all he could do was nod his head.

Soon Shreya had left the room leaving the doctor and Veer behind.

"Mr. Shekhawat, now that Shreya isn't here I think it's the best time to tell you this." The doctor said as soon as they realized they were alone.

"What do you mean Dr. Manyata?" Veer asked back in confusion.

"Mr. Shekhawat let me get straight to the point. Shreya's pregnancy isn't normal. What I mean is it's a bit complicated. Morning sickness is very common, but Shreya is dealing with it a lot. A lot compared to the other women. And then her headaches." The doctor sighed.

"She's having a pregnancy full of complications which we don't prefer for woman who is going to be a mother for the first time. And if situation is bad in the beginning of her pregnancy only, I can only say it's going to worsen ahead." The doctor said in a go and it felt as if the world had stopped rotating for Veer.

"D-Doctor what will be the effects? I mean what if she survives the pregnancy well?" He asked knowing how strong Shreya is.

"There are very rare chances that she survives this Mr. Shekhawat without any major problem. And if we don't take any action soon in the upcoming time, there will only be major complications for us ahead, specially at the time of delivery." The doctor replied.

"Wh-at p-problems?" He questioned hesitantly.

"Mr. Shekhawat there might be a chance where we aren't able to save either of mother and child if we let go the right time." The doctor replied and Veer felt as if the ground beneath him had slipped.

"W-What?" He breathed out.

"I am sorry to say Mr. Shekhawat, but at the end it's the truth." The doctor said with a pitiful look.

"W-What if- w-we-"

"Don't hesitate Mr. Shekhawat. In fact I want you to ask me things related to this." The doctor encouraged and Veer let out a huge breath in desperation.

"W-What if we abort the baby?" He asked gaining a lot of courage.

"I knew you were going to ask this question only. And I am sorry to say Mr. Shekhawat, but it's the only right option for you and your wife. You both are young and as an experienced doctor I have to say that you shouldn't risk your wife's life." The doctor said and Veer's fist clenched at the harsh reality.

"Don't put yourself at pressure. You still have some time left with the first trimester so I suggest you to discuss this matter with your wife the way you want to deal with it. The only reason I didn't disclose this problem in front of Mrs. Shekhawat was because I knew she wouldn't be able to handle the bitter truth." The doctor said and Veer nodded his head trying his level best to be the mature one.

And what he didn't know was that while he was being the mature one, on the other side there was her.

She felt pain.

She felt anger.

She felt betrayed.

She felt disgusted.

And what she didn't realize is she didn't hear the whole thing.
