Goodbye Isn't Forever
Liz: During the Vietnam war, Amanda was left in the care of Canada, and sometimes Britain, while America went off to war. Amanda hadn't been separated from her Dad for a long period of time. She had gone through the Great Depression with him, WW2, the Korean War, the early stages of the Civil Rights movement, the assassination of JFK, etc. Now she was being told she couldn't go with him to Vietnam. Before he went out to the airport, Amanda hugged him and cried. America hugged her back and promised he'd be back as soon as possible. (Yeah.....feels).
