14 | Lime
(A/N: This one's gonna be short, sorry!)
"Arrggghhh!" Lime banged her head on the table.
The memory chip was perfectly intact.
The Polus computer was perfectly intact.
But she had no fucking way to connect the two.
"Hey, relax, this just means it's gonna take a little longer. We can look for parts in storage!" Cyan comforted her.
She wasn't having this shit.
He could be the fucking imposter.
Yet somehow, she knew he wasn't.
Lime sighed, "Okay, okay,"
She followed Cyan outside towards the storage room, the gun weighing heavy in her pocket.
They had each picked a weapon for safety reasons. What she meant by that was they each picked a weapon so it wouldn't be as easy for the imposter to skewer them alive. They had all picked up guns lying around the bodies except for Orange who picked a bloody knife. "If some imposters can use these to kill the whole base, I wanna see what the hype is about," He had said.
Cyan must've felt her unease because he told her, "Relax, the imposter can't get us while we're in groups of two, I mean why haven't they killed two people in one go?"
Lime gave him a strange look, "I never thought of that,"
"Of course not, I'm a genius,"
Lime rolled her eyes but couldn't fight the smile, "How do you know I'm not the imposter?"
Cyan paused and turned his head slowly. He gave her a smug smile, "I just know,"
"Well that's a little sus, don't you think Cyan?" Lime smiled.
Cyan's smug smile turned into a full-on grin, "You used my term!" Lime laughed.
The Cyan frowned, "I don't like you calling me Cyan. It's weird,"
Lime shrugged and pushed open the door to the storage center. Junk and metal were overflowing boxes and covering every inch of space in the room, "Then what do you want me to call you?"
"Call me by my real name," Cyan tilted his head back so he was looking at her upside down.
"You know we're not sup—"
"It's Luke, now you have no excuse," Cyan smiled and returned his head to its normal position, "Now what parts do we need, pilot?"
"I don't know co-pilot,"
* * *
After a few minutes of rummaging, all they needed was a connector wire.
"Oh! I got it!" Cyan popped his head out of a pile of junk, parts were falling off his head. He ran out the door.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Lime called after him.
"I know where to get the wire! I'll be right back!"
And just like that, he was gone.
Told ya it was short. I promise I'll update again before Monday because of Thanksgiving break!!
Aaaawww I love this chapter, it really shows you more of the characters. And it plays a very crucial role in the next few chapters.
It's also slathered in foreshadowing. *wink wink*
QOTD: Does the crew have anything to be thankful for?? Any positive outcomes to this whole situation?
Thanks for reading! Don't forget to vote and comment! Though karmas_next_target and periwinkleblue- hardly ever forget to comment and I love it. :)
