'Number 001-Take Money From A Cash Register'
"I don't need help to fucking walk." I roll my eyes and swat Michael's hand away.
He chuckles. "I know, but your hand is warm." He tries to grab my hand again and I flip him off.
Calum laughs. "She really hasn't changed a bit."
I roll my eyes for the billionth time that day.
"Hey did any of you guys burn food when we were hanging out?" I question, recalling the smell of smoke and sound of laughter.
Michael groans and Luke laughs.
"Michael cannot cook. He tried to prove us wrong on a dare-"
Michael shushed him.
"Hey, that can be the next personal fact, okay?" He grumbles and Luke laughs again.
We stay silent for the walk to the car, where apparently my stuff is already loaded into.
"Shotgun!" I yell and run for the car.
"And I'll drive!" Michael yells.
"Dude, why do you want to drive?" Calum yells.
"Aux cord!" He shouts back and continues running.
I slip inside the car and buckle before scanning the car.
Michael gets in and reaches for what I was looking for: The aux cord.
I snatch it up and Michael whines,
"Well then I don't want to drive." He says and turns to get out but Ashton shoves him back into the car.
"Hey, mate, you called it." He says and gets in the back of the van.
"Whatever." He grumbles and cranks the car.
"Hey, where's my phone?" I ask and Michael pulls it out of his pocket and tosses it to me.
I was about to ask if he knew my passcode but, luckily, it was Touch ID.
"Look, if you don't believe you knew us, we're in your contacts." Ashton pointed out from behind me.
It was true-I checked my messages and the most recent were from a group chat called '5 music addicted freaks'. I smirk at the name, somehow knowing I came up with it.
Weirdo: guys why isn't she answering
Drummer Boy: idk I've been texting her nonstop
My fav Asian: what if something happened
Blonde Giraffe: she might be pranking us
Before I could continue to examine the texts, however, Luke grabbed my phone and started doing something on it.
"Hey!" I protest, but he shushes me.
"You'll use it to find out your name! I'm confiscating it?" He explains. I huff, but don't try to take it back.
"Well what about music?" I ask and Michael holds his own phone over to me.
"You and I have the same taste in music. Until you either remember or we tell you your name, you can't have your phone."
"Whatever." I mutter and take it.
I plug it into the car and turn on 'You Don't Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison', By My Chemical Romance.
"I don't remember my own name but I do remember my favorite music. Of course." I mutter and Michael smiles.
I mess around on White Tiles 4 for a bit before a question pops into my mind.
"Guys what are you gonna call me?" I ask.
"What?" Calum asks.
"Well, you aren't going to tell me my name, so what will you call me until either then or I remember?" I ask.
They look to each other and then back at me, then back at each other again.
"Well?"
"Um..." Michael shifts in his seat.
"How about... uh..."
"A!" Ashton says.
I turn around, slightly annoyed.
"Why A? This isn't Pretty Little Liars."
He shrugs. "Because I thought of it, so it's the first letter of my name." He says smugly and smiles.
"So it's basically a big circle?" I ask.
"Yep."
I roll my eyes.
"Fine whatever." I roll my eyes.
"A, it is." I mutter, clicking on Instagram. Maybe if he knows me he'll have a picture of us on his page.
"Hey, no social media!" Michael says.
"You could find out your name." He reasons.
"Wouldn't it be easier to just tell me?" I groan.
"Get off Instagram." Ashton commands and I roll my eyes and exit the app.
"Where are we going anyways?" I ask.
Michael smiles. "Number one/take money from a cash register."
?Ä?
"So what store are we doing it from? Because it shouldn't be one we go to a lot." I state.
"She has a point." Luke adds. "We should go to a big store because then we won't be as noticeable."
"But won't that mean a higher risk of security cameras?" Calum asks.
I shrug.
"Good point. I say we should find a big store still. I could dress up as an employee, change in the bathroom, and then I'd walk out." I shrug.
"We could just ask if we could swap out the money. It would still count." Ashton says.
I roll my eyes. "No. We have to actually do it. It'll be like in the movies and we'll get away with it through some crazy luck. If it's super cliche I'll probably end up kissing one of you."
Calum makes a face.
"Actually you-"
Luke started but Michael held up his hand. "Wait! That can be another fact!"
Luke rolls his eyes in response. "So we can't tell her anything without it being another fact?"
Michael shrugs. "You can talk to her but don't talk about before the you-know-what."
I snort. "I know I was in a car crash genius. That's what the nurse told me."
He shifts awkwardly. "There might be slightly more to that story but I won't be telling you about it yet." He says quickly and I scoff.
"Whatever. What store are we going to?" I ask.
"Small one. Who knows. First small store we see. Someone distracts the employee while we're buying something and you grab the cash." Michael says simply, like he's done it before.
I shrug. "Okay, let's go."
?Ä?
"I'm kinda nervous." I giggle as we walk in. I don't know where, I didn't bother to read the store name.
"Not contemplating whether or not it's right? Do you have no conscience?" Ashton says and I shrug.
"I guess not."
"Hey, there Luke goes, get ready."
I turn to see Luke walking up with a Blink 182 CD.
He nods at the boy working the cash register, and smiles at us.
"Okay..." I walk over as casual as I'm possible of looking, and when I'm behind them, he's putting his money in the register.
I hear a yell coming from the other side of the store, which would be Calum, causing the boy to turn and look in the opposite direction.
I take the chance.
I reach in and take a few bucks of money and turn to run.
"Hey!" I hear a voice behind me.
The boy had seen me.
I ran as fast as I could out of the door, and hear an oomf! behind me.
That would be Ashton, purposely running into him, like we planned.
I zip outside and go straight to the van.
"Go!" I get in and Michael leaves the parking lot.
"Whew!" I giggle. "That was fun."
"Did you do it?" He asks, going to the gas station a bit away from the store.
"Yup." I wave the money in front of his face.
"Why'd you only get a few tens?" He asks, parking the car.
"Because if it was a lot of money then that boy at the cash register would get in trouble. I figure I just take, say, twenty, thirty bucks, he's in less trouble." I shrug, and he nods.
"So you do have a conscience. Okay, I'm gonna fill the tank up, you can use that money to buy us some snacks." He get out of the car and wait for the others to show up.
"So." I begin, once we're all back on the road.
"I have two questions."
"Okay, shoot." Ashton sticks his head up in between the seats.
"One, what's next, and two, what's my personal fact?" I ask and Michael sighs.
"Your favourite colour is red. There's your answer to two. As to one, check the list." He gestures towards me, meaning my back pocket where I'd stuck the list.
I unfold it and smooth it out on my knee.
"Two: break into a concert." I smirk. "This'll be fun."
