Hello all...
This is a short story which I had in mind since a long time. One night I suddenly got an urge to see my favorite couple as boxers and a story we had to study in school was perfect plot for that. So I took inspiration from it and made this.

Please Forgive my mistakes and hope you guys enjoy.... ❤️❤️❤️

---------------------------

Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo were both seventeen years old. Though Zhan was 2 months older, they were so together in friendship and they felt themselves to be brothers. No No No, much more than that! They had known each other since childhood, growing up on the Lower East Side of Beijing in the same building, they understood each other more than themselves.

W

ang Yibo, also known as the Ice prince, had a gaze sharp as a dagger, a gaze that could cut through a thousand hearts. His face was sharp, the steep angles of his high cheekbones and sharp chin balanced out wonderfully with his cheeks. He was tall, but not as tall as his amigo, yet he radiated sheer power and aura, the kind that would follow him in stride, carrying himself regally. His shoulders were taut and tense, his stance defensive. His well built muscles were always shown to the world, screaming its power and to the utter dismay of his amigo ¿brother?, welcoming a whole lot of fangirls drooling over them.

(I had to edit zhan's face to yibo's since I couldn't find his boxing pics on Google. Hope it's not that bad )
While Yibo was the Prince of Ice, Xiao Zhan was the exact opposite. His eyes were soft hazel, his lips forever curled into a partial smile. Despite his tall stance he was rather lean, his shoulders relaxed and set back. Even though his muscles were not visible, ones that has fought him knew that looks can defy, and never judge a book by its cover. Inside the lean boy, was a fighter built for savageness which can only be visible in the ring. He had around him an aura that drew most people to him, something about him that was affable and friendly, though that is limited to outside the fighting ground. His soft, black hair curled around at his temples, accentuating his beauty, also the fire in his eyes...

Each youngster had a dream-of someday becoming a light-weight champion of the world.

Every chance they had, they worked out; sometimes, at the Boys Club and sometimes, at the gym. Early morning sunrises would find them running along the East River side, wrapped in sweat shirts and short towels around their necks. It was a sight to behold. And girls used to pretend passing by, to get some attention from the prince's of their town. But to no avail!

While some youngsters were into street negatives, Yibo and Zhan ate, slept, rapped, and dreamt positive. Between them, they had a collection of Fight magazines, plus a scrapbook filled with torn tickets to every boxing match they had ever attended, and some clippings of their own..

Now, after a series of elimination bouts, they had been informed that they were to meet each other at the division finals that were scheduled for the seventh of August, two weeks away - the winner to represent the Boys club in the Golden Gloves Championship Tournament.

The two boys continued to run together along the East River side.
But even when joking with each other, they both sensed a wall rising between them. What they didn't realize was their urge to crumble that wall to the ground and make the other their own!

One morning, less than a week  before their bout, they met as usual for their daily workout. Zhan glanced at Yibo who kept his eyes purposely straight ahead, pausing from time to time to do some fancy leg work while throwing one-twos followed by uppercuts to an imaginary jaw.

"An Ice prince, he is..."
Zhan didn't know when his eyes became dreamy.
"What are you thinking Zhannie?
Thinking about your girlfriend? "
Zhan jerked up from his half dreamy state. He didn't say anything and continued to go on. But if he was attentive, he could notice a tinge of jealousy in the voice he heard. Alas! He missed it.

After a mile or so, Yibo puffed and said, "Let's stop a while,,,,,, bro (He was having difficulty pronouncing the word Bro! ) . I think we both got something to say to each other."

"Man. I didn't know how to come out with it." Zhan helped. "It's about our fight, right?"
"Yeah, right." Yibo's eyes squinted at the rising orange sun. "I've been thinking about it too. In fact, since we found out it was going to be me and you, I've been awake at night, pulling punches on you, trying not to hurt you."

"Same here. It isn't natural not to think about the fight. I mean, we both are fighters and we both want to win. But only one of us can win. There are no draws in the eliminations."

Yibo tapped Zhan gently on the shoulder. "I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging. But I want to win, fair and square."

Zhan nodded quietly. "Yeah. We both know that in the ring the better man wins. It's fair, Bo-di. When we get into the ring, it's got to be like we never met. We got to be like two heavy strangers that want the same thing and only one can have it. You understand?"

I know." Yibo smiled. "No pulling punches. We go all the way."

"Yeah, that's right. Listen, Bo-di. Don't you think it's a good idea if we don't see each other until the day of the fight? I'm going to stay with my Aunt Lulu in Chonqing."

Yibo scratched his nose pensively. "Yeah, it would be better for our heads." He held out his hand, palm upward. "Deal?"

"Deal." Zhan lightly slapped open skin.
They both winced at the sudden heat and the electric shock like feeling that coursed through their veins.

"Ready for some more running?" Yibo asked lamely.

"No, Didi. Let's cut it here. You go on. I like to get things together in my head."

"You aren't worried, are you?" Yibo asked.

"No way, man," Zhan laughed out loud. "I just think it's cooler if we split right here. After the fight, we can get it together again like nothing ever happened."

(Can they ?)

The amigo brothers were not ashamed to hug each other tightly . To tell the fact, they hugged like there's no tomarrow. What if they can't face each other like they were till now? What if they were gonna be enemies outside the ring too? What if this is the end of their friendship, their relation?  Too many what ifs..

What will happen? Let's wait and see..
