Dove's POV

"Are you okay?" I asked. Vinter gave me a small nod.

"That was horrifying," he replied.

"It was," I replied as the event replayed in my mind, it made me nauseous.

I saw that there was some blood on Vinter's clothes.

"Take off your blazer," I said.

He nodded as he removed his blazer and threw it away. No one would want to wear a bloodied blazer now, would they?

Someone opened the door of the rooftop and my attention got diverted to the newly arrived person. There was a cop with a bunch of files in his hands.

"Agent Snow White ordered me to bring this to you, Miss Stanley," he spoke.

I took the files from his hands. These are the files that contain all the information about the sins.

"Thank you," I replied. The cop nodded as he walked away.

"What's that?" Vinter asked.

"Information about the sins and their past," I replied. I opened the first file, and I found all the information about Satan and his past.

"Damn! This is some really sensitive information. What are you going to do with it?" He asked.

"Nothing, in particular, I have always been curious about the sins and their real identity, especially Lucifer's. That was the reason I made a deal with Snow White if I help him catch Lucifer he will bring me all the information about the sins, and he will also leave Belphegor, Leviathan, and Mammon alone," I replied.

"Who is this Snow White anyway?" Vinter asked.

"He's a government agent, I don't know much but it looks like he had some beef with Lucifer considering the fact that they knew each other," I shrugged.

I opened the last file which was of Lucifer's. I took in a deep breath and started reading.

My eyes widened.

"What the hell!" I exclaimed loudly.

"There is nothing here about his past life!" Vinter spoke as he turned the pages.

There was only information about his life starting from the Juvenile center. There is no information about him from before, his real name was not there and neither was his origin. It was like man didn't even exist before that.

"How can this be possible? Did I just got tricked?" I asked.

My phone started to buzz so I saw who was calling. It was a private number, wonder who it is this time?

"Hello," I said picking up the call.

"Miss Stanley, you read the files?" Snow White asked.

"You cheated!" I retorted.

"That was the only information I could acquire about Lucifer from my sources," Snow White spoke. I can't tell if he's lying or speaking the truth.

"How can that be possible? He must-"

"No, he doesn't have any relatives and even if he had I don't think they would be alive. The only way to find out about the truth is to ask Lucifer directly which I'm going to do."

"Excuse me, I have another work to do now," he spoke and hung up the call.

"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath.

"I went through all the pain for nothing," I mumbled.

"It wasn't for nothing. You helped them catch a criminal and the biggest issue of our life is gone as well. Aries can have a normal life with his grandmother now, and so will the rest," Vinter explained.

"You are too optimistic for your good, Harris," I grumbled.

"Let's go and meet Twilight now. We need to get updates about his current state from the doctor," Vinter spoke.

We both went downstairs to the floor where Twilight was admitted. There was a rush on the floor which confused me.

"What happened?" Vinter asked one of his men.

"Mr. Harris, young master... young master is going through cardiac arrest," he said.

Numb

Everything felt numb, I felt numb. I could see everything but my mind couldn't read the situation. They were speaking but my mind couldn't understand a single word.

What if he doesn't make it?

I couldn't feel touch. Vinter's hands were on my shoulder, he was looking at me. He's speaking something. His eyes have tears in them.

Don't cry, stay strong, Vinter. For your brother. For me.

I opened my mouth, I could feel my muscles tensing and relaxing. Not even a single sound came out of my mouth.

What will I do-

"Dove!" I felt a sudden push on my body which brought me back to reality.

"Dove!"

"Y-yeah," I whispered.

"It's very serious! Get back to your senses and listen to me carefully! We have to stay strong for Twilight, please! Let's have faith in God," Vinter sobbed.

Faith, it's the only thing I never had in my entire life. Faith is such a futile word people use.

"Why is it happening?" I asked.

"I don't know! The doctors are all treating him, we'll only find out about it when they come out," he said.

"You will be fine on your own?" Vinter asked. I nodded.

"I need to check up on my mom and Sophia," he said. "Is it okay if I leave?"

I gave him a small nod. He placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Don't go anywhere. I will be back," he mumbled as he left.

I could feel like I was getting short of breath. I need to focus on my breathing or I will pass out. I can't pass out now, I need to stay up so I can make sure that Twilight is okay.

There are so many things I want to do with him. I want to marry him and have kids with him. He cannot die like that! I want to spend my life with him.

"I would like to get to know you more, Dove."

If you weren't going to stay with me forever why did you come into my life? Why did you make me fall in love with you?

Love is a twisted curse.

I didn't deserve this curse, I didn't deserve this suffering. What did I ever do to deserve any of this?

You were just a blessing in disguise.

You are so innocent, why are you suffering? Why are we suffering? The only crime we did was, we fell in love with each other. This punishment is too big for such a small crime.

What purpose do I have to live if you aren't a part of my life? You were my sun, if you stop shining all I will have is darkness in my life. I won't be able to see anything ahead or anything behind.

I promised you I won't kill myself. Then why are you dying? Shouldn't promises be kept in two ways, if I don't die then you shouldn't either?

I couldn't stop chanting as I sat taking support of the wall. My fingers pulled my hair as tears rolled down my cheeks.

A doctor stepped out of the room and everyone rushed up to him including me.

"Doctor! What happened? Twilight, my brother he's going to live right?" Vinter asked.

"I am sorry, it's hard to tell right now. Even though the chances of survival are very less, we will do our best," the doctor said.

Chances of survival are less? What does that mean?

"Save him!" I screamed. "Save my lover! Or I will burn down this entire hospital! I don't care how you-"

"Dove! Shut up!" Vinter's palm covered my mouth. "Behave!"

My legs gave out but Vinter gave me support. I let out a sob as I closed my eyes.

"Vinter, what if he-"

"Shh! He'll be alright," he rubbed my arms.

The doctor went back inside the room as they carried whatever treatment was needed.

My tears won't stop flowing and my thoughts wouldn't either. I thought about the worst possibility that can happen, now my only fear is if those thoughts become reality. I will live up to my name.

Chaos

Everything would be chaotic. Twilight is the only lifeline I'm holding on to. He gave me a new reason to live when I am with him not even once did I wish to die.

How will I live without him?

I forgot what life looked like without Twilight being a part of it. This feels like one of my nightmares— no it's even worse than that.

The doctors came out of the room altogether. Their expression wasn't what I expected them to be. There was sorrow in their eyes.

I feel nauseous

"I'm sorry, we couldn't save him," was the last thing I heard.

I could feel my vision blurred as I could see black spots. I let out a small chuckle.

"Faith..." was the last word I spoke before passing out. I could feel someone calling out my name. But I can't, I don't want to wake up ever again. I want this pain to end along with him.
