|EIGHTEEN| Girlfriend?
Dove's POV
The place Twilight brought me to was a huge field, and near the field, there were tracks probably meant for biking. It was a pretty place, and the weather was weirdly matching this date. It wasn't exactly hot, nor was it cold.
"Luis, Shane, and I used to visit this place a lot." "Especially when things were not going right in my family, both of them used to bring me here to make me feel better," Twilight stated. I wonder what kind of problems he has in his family. I can guess that being an illegitimate child must have caused him a lot of issues that he probably doesn't even deserve.
"This place is beautiful," I said, looking around as I felt a cool breeze. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Should we ride bikes now?" Twilight asked. I opened my eyes and looked at him. His gunmetal eyes stared at me curiously. I smiled and nodded.
He carried the bikes and placed them on the ground. Did I ever mention how hot he's looking in that black tank top and black jeans he's wearing?
It looks like this man's entire closet consists of black clothes only. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I'm getting a good view of his perfectly sculpted biceps and the tattoos on them.
"Hot damn bunny!" "You are so hot and strong!" I exclaimed, making the man smile shyly.
"I'm sure I'm not half as hot as the guys you probably have dated in the past," he said as I walked closer to him and got on one of the bikes.
"Will you believe me if I say I have never dated anyone?" I asked.
"You know I will believe whatever you say," he said. "But how come someone as charismatic as you has never dated anyone?" "Is it because of the soulmate bond?"
I chuckled as I paddled, and he followed me sitting on his bike.
"I have hooked up a few times but never dated." "Mostly because I am not exactly someone who is into dating, and neither did I find anyone worth dating until I met you," I replied.
"Wow... so just like how you are my first date, I am your first date too," he said in a surprised tone.
"But why do you even want to date an idiot like me?" He mumbled, not expecting me to hear it.
"You are anything but an idiot, bunny." "Honestly, you are way smarter than your brother," I said, at this point, as he was riding his bike side by side with me.
"I am smarter than Vinter." He asked.
"Of course you are, darling." "You are smarter than most people I know because most people I know judge me based on what they have heard about me, while you waited for me to tell you the truth before you made any assumptions about me," I said. He grinned at me like a child who just got the candy he demanded.
Inferiority complex.
Twilight is suffering from an inferiority complex, probably caused by the constant comparison between him and Vinter when he was growing up.
"The one who reaches the end of this track first gets to ask for anything from the loser!" As I paddled my bike faster, I said
"He-hey! That's cheating!" He yelled from behind, and I could hear him paddling faster too.
I laughed as the air swooshed my hair. I know he's going to win; he's taller than me, and he probably works out every day. But despite knowing I would lose, I still entered this competition because he arranged this entire date, so it would only be fair if I could give him something in return.
Twilight was eventually way ahead of me as he finally won the race. It was fun. It felt like I was living my childhood.
"Yes! I won!" He exclaimed when he reached the endpoint, but in doing so, he let go of the handlebars.
"Bunny! You will-"
Before I could complete my sentence, he was down on the ground, groaning in pain.
"... fall,"
I completed my sentence, shaking my head, as I got off my bike and rushed up to him.
I helped him up as I dusted his clothes, inspecting to see if he was badly injured.
"You good?" I asked. He nodded with a grin; his palms and elbows were bruised, but nothing bad happened. I sighed as I checked his injuries, hoping they weren't bleeding.
"It's just bruised." "Don't sweat it," Twilight said.
"You are so careless, bunny." I whined. He tucked my hair behind my ear as he caressed my cheek later. My heartbeat raced as I could feel my blood rushing through my cheeks. How can small gestures like this make me feel this way? Am I falling for him faster than I thought?
His gunmetal eyes held nothing but an abundance of warmth in them. How can eyes with such a sad color have nothing but hope and warmth filled in them?
"I told you not to sweat it; I am fine, kitten," he said as he leaned in closer. "Since I won the race, I would like to make my request now."
His eyes sparkled with a glint of mischief in them as a playful smirk took place on his lips, and he licked his lower lip as he leaned in even more. His hands were still on my cheeks.
"What are you going to ask for?" "A kiss?" I asked with a smirk. Even though my heart was racing, I won't let him see what effects he has on me.
He smiled as he stepped back.
"It's too soon for that," he replied with a smile. He turned around with a blushing face. "It looks like my bike is broken."
I chuckled at his flustered behavior. I reached for his wrist and made him turn towards me.
"It might be too soon for a kiss, but it's not too soon for this," I said as I pulled him into a hug. I almost stumbled trying to balance his giant body, but luckily, he gained his composure and balanced himself. His hot breath hits the nape of my neck, and I can feel goosebumps rising on my skin.
"You are warm," he mumbled.
"So are you, bunny?" I replied with a smile. He picked me up and spun me around like I weighed nothing.
"I'm so happy today," he said. "I thought I was going to die single."
I laughed at his statement. "Oh my! Someone like you would never die single!" "You have no idea how rare you are, Twilight Harris."
"Thank you, Dove," he said. I let go of him and looked at him.
"Now stop doubting yourself." "Around me, just be yourself, okay?" I said. "I will never judge you, nor will I ever let you feel like you are not good enough." "You are perfect with all your imperfections."
"Now what are we going to do next?" I asked.
"Eat!" He cheered as he dragged me towards the truck. I chuckled as I followed the hyperactive kid I'm out on a date with.
He picked up the food container and picnic mat as he arranged the mat on the ground and placed the container on the mat. He gestured for me to sit opposite him.
"I made the food." "I hope you will like it," he said as he opened the container.
There was a lot of food—different types of sandwiches, fruits, sausage rolls, and cookies—and below the food container was an ice container for our drinks.
"You made all this food?" I asked with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I mean, my mother taught me how to cook and stuff, so... I occasionally do cook," he replied, rubbing the back of his neck. I smiled as I picked up a sandwich and took a bite.
It was delicious. I'm not going to lie: I'm terrible at cooking.
Cooking was never really my thing, and I never bothered learning it.
"This is the most delicious sandwich I have tasted in my life!" I complimented him. He chuckled.
"I'm glad you liked it."
"Like" is an understatement. I have never gone on a picnic since I was bullied; I avoided going on any school trips, and my parents were always too busy to take me and my sister on trips. I wonder if Twilight arranged this date like this because he knows I have never enjoyed my childhood.
"Thank you, bunny," I said. "You are a sunrise in my life."
"If you don't mind," he said. "May I ask what it was like in the juvenile center?"
I was expecting him to ask that. If I were in his place, I would be curious about it. I am willing to tell him everything. Everything except my relationship with the sins
I cannot tell people about it without Lucifer's permission. Moreover, I don't want to scare Twilight away. Being a member of a criminal organization may seem normal to me, but it may be frightening to him.
So, except for the sins part, I told him everything that had happened in prison. I showed him the burn marks that covered the back of my neck and half of my back. I told him what people go through in the juvenile center. I told him why I'm suicidal—it's not an excuse, but the things I went through were hardly bearable. I don't know how I survived, but if it weren't for Leviathan and Belphegor, I probably would have taken my life long ago. Even though I didn't tell him about Leviathan and Belphegor, I did tell him about how kind fellow juvenile offenders saved my life. In reality, there was no kind of juvenile offender except Micah.
He listened to everything I said with occasional changes in his expression. After I was done talking, there was a minute of silence between us.
"It's hard to understand what you went through because I cannot even begin to imagine that hell," he said. "Thanks to those juvenile offenders who saved you when you tried to kill yourself." "If not because of them, I would have lost someone so important to me."
"Can I ask for the request now?" He asked. He won the race, and he has the right to make the request. I only hope he asks for something I'm capable of giving.
"What is it that you want?" I asked.
"I want a promise, Dove Stanley," he said.
"Anything... anything... anything for you," I said.
"Promise me you will never try to kill yourself again," he said. I smiled as I crawled towards him and took his hands in mine.
"If that's what you want, my prince," I said. "Your wish is my command." "I promise I'll never try to kill myself."
"Thank you," he said.
"No. "Thanks to you... it's all thanks to you," I replied as I placed his hands on my cheeks. His thumb gently caressed my cheekbones as I tilted my face closer to the warmth of his palm.
"What now?" I asked.
"Let's clean this area up and go boating," he said. I nodded with a smile as we both began packing and cleaning the place.
It was all fun. While spending time with Twilight, I forgot all about my other worries. Vinter, my father, everything It felt like my life wasn't the most messed-up thing on this planet. Twilight's positive vibes worked magic on me.
After we were done enjoying boating, he told me he would drop me off at my place. I accepted his offer, and now here we are sitting in his truck again. While boating, we clicked many photographs. I'm deciding to frame some of them in my room.
He parked the car outside my house. It wasn't like anyone was home, so I couldn't be bothered about someone seeing us together.
"I had a great time today, bunny," I said, complimenting his efforts.
"Me too, kitten," he said.
"Before you go, can I ask you something?" He asked.
"Yes?"
"Since it was our first date and since we enjoy each other's company so much," she said. "Would you like to be my girlfriend?" He asked. I laughed.
"I was going to consider you my boyfriend, whether you asked me or not, bunny. I wouldn't have gone out with you if I wasn't going to consider being your girlfriend in the first place!" "Yes!" "I would love to be your girlfriend!" I replied. I could see the happiness in his eyes. It reflected mine.
"I have something for you," he said. "Give me your right hand." I placed my hand in his.
He pulled out a ring with the beautiful initials T.H. on it. I could tell the ring was made of platinum. My eyes widened.
"Twilight, what is it?"
"Shh! It's something I wanted to do." "Dove, we don't have a soulmate bond, but there is something that is binding us together, and I wanted that something to have a physical form." "So now, whenever you look at this ring, it will remind you of me, and whenever I look at mine, it will remind me of you," he explained as he showed his ring, on which D.S. was written.
"I am liking this childlike romance of yours, bunny," I said, laughing. "I'll get going now."
"Remember! I'll arrange our next date."
He nodded and waved at me with a smile. Should I kiss him? Would it seem too desperate if I did?
My eyes momentarily fell on his lips, but I diverted my attention. With a mental battle, I opened the truck's door and stepped out. I walked a few steps ahead but paused for a moment there. I turned around to see Twilight, who was waiting for me to go inside my house.
He waved at me with a grin as my mental battle stopped. It's now or never.
I walked back to the truck and knocked on his side of the window. He rolled the window down with a confused expression.
"What happened, kitten?" He asked.
"Open your door," I said. He did as I told him to do, and the next thing I did was climb on his lap.
"It might seem too soon for you." I said. My hips straddled his thighs, and my hands were on his chest. Our breathing hastened as I stared right into his beautiful gunmetal orbs. "... but I can't resist."
I leaned in closer until our noses were touching. hoping for a sign of resistance from his side, but he didn't. He pressed his hands on my waist as he pulled me closer.
"I... thought I would scare you if I went in for a kiss first, so I didn't make a move," he replied in a hushed tone. "You have no idea how hard it was for me to resist these pretty lips of yours." His cheeks were flushed from all the blushing, and I'm sure mine were as well.
I gave in completely as I kissed his lips. Small kisses turned into making out. His hands rubbed my waist as his tongue explored the insides of my mouth. My body was in the throes of ecstasy; this man is driving me insane. With his perfectly contradictory personality and appearance, it will be hard to hold back now. Because now that I have gotten a taste of him, I will keep needing him.
Twilight Harris, what are you doing to me?
